The Scarborough Joke & Magic Shop is a traditional seaside joke and magic store located in the historic resort town of Scarborough, North Yorkshire. We specialise in classic magic tricks, practical jokes, novelty gifts, and fun curiosities designed to make people laugh, amaze their friends, and rediscover a bit of old-fashioned wonder. Our shop carries a wide range of magic tricks suitable for all skill levels, from simple beginner tricks for young magicians to professional props used by experienced performers. Alongside magic, we stock a huge selection of classic joke shop favourites including whoopee cushions, stink bombs, itching powder, fake insects, novelty gadgets, and quirky gifts that are perfect for parties, stocking fillers, and surprise presents. Many of the items we sell are inspired by the traditional joke and magic shops that were once a staple of British seaside towns. We’re passionate about keeping that spirit alive — the joy of walking into a shop full of strange curiosities, clever illusions, and mischievous pranks. Customers can visit us in person in Scarborough or shop online, where we ship orders across the UK and around the world. Every order is carefully packed by our small team who genuinely love what we do. Whether you're looking for your very first magic trick, a unique novelty gift, or a classic prank to play on your friends, The Scarborough Joke & Magic Shop is here to bring a little laughter, mystery, and seaside fun into your day.

Excellent Service For MANY Years
I have been buying from here for many years... The prices are fair, the service is brilliant and should (?) you have ANY issue; they will 'go that extra mile' to sort out a problem. An _'old fashioned business'_ (jokes / magic / fancy dress & novelties) LOL !!! - but with _'old fashioned business morals'_. I vouch for them 100%

Great service
The delivery company messed up the order and the joke shop made it right even though it wasn't their fault. Thank you

Great prank gift
Love the item but would be great if correct customs forms had been submitted. Incurred additional charges because of this.

Great owner, shame about the customer experience due to RM
So just want to say that the owner seems great and very helpful. He’s the one who actually deserves the stars… the issue for me (I work in e-commerce for a platform and agency so advise on recommendations to clients every day re: postal strikes) is that I selected a service to pay more for the RM48 and somehow it arrived only yesterday almost 2 weeks after it was ordered.
I know the strikes have been inconvenient as an etailer but put something else in place when they happen.

Resposta da The Scarborough Joke & Magic Shop
Thank you for your review.
As you correctly stated, Royal Mail has been the weak link in our system this year. Usually, RM is 99% reliable, even during Christmas. We work hard to dispatch orders same day, During December we have 3 collections A DAY!
But unfortunately RM strikes have really affected us.
The vast majority of our post is Large Letter size products, so using RM is the most cost effective shipping partner. (Using a £4 alternative company for a 99p product does not usually create online sales)
We have also had delays with other shipping companies for dispatching larger parcels during this time.
Everything as expected.
