Schoolio is highly unprofessional when concerns are addressed and takes it out on the Child/ren

Some things you should consider before moving forward with Schoolio.

I am sharing my experience with Schoolio, a homeschool program, to provide information for families considering enrollment.

1. Advertising and PromotionsConsumer Alert: Misleading Promotion & Refund Issues with Schoolio 🚨

I want to share my experience with Schoolio regarding their so-called “limited-time” promotion that is now advertised as “Try Complete Now and Save 50% Off Your Annual Fee.”
• I first saw this offer in July 2025, and it remained active through December 2025, despite being advertised as a short-term deal. Shockingly, it is still promoted as a sale today. This is a classic example of a “limited-time” sale that was never actually limited.
• The program was marketed as risk-free, but certain hidden conditions affect refunds and access to records, making the claim misleading.
• When attempting to cancel, Schoolio refuses to calculate refunds based on what I actually paid, instead using the full, undiscounted price of the program—despite my receipt clearly showing the discounted 50% total. Legally, a refund must reflect the amount you actually paid, not some arbitrary original price.

⚠️ Takeaway: This is a reminder to always carefully document promotional claims, receipts, and refund policies. Companies cannot advertise a sale as “limited-time” while keeping it running for months and then use that to deny or reduce your refund.

2. Technical Issues

During our enrollment:
• Some correct answers were marked as incorrect.
• Technical issues persisted despite reporting them.
• Suggested fixes or reviews of the platform were not implemented during our participation.

These technical issues affected the usability of the program for my child.

3. Account Cancellation and Refund

On December 5, 2025, our account was canceled by the program. I received a partial refund of $79.04 after paying $251.99 for 12 months. Based on actual access (111 days), the portion of fees corresponding to services used would be approximately $76.59.

4. Academic Records

After cancellation, transcript access was limited to 30 days. Some completed work was not reflected in the transcript, including work submitted via the parent portal. Multiple portals for children of different ages contributed to confusion in record-keeping.

5. Payment Information

After canceling the account and updating my credit card, charges were applied that were unexpected Feb 13 2026. My bank stated that the only way that they could've gained access to my new card as if they had a renewal subscription yet my account was closed and officially deleted according to them after 30 days yet 60 some days later I was charged $79.04 meaning that out of the $251.99 that I paid for services that I did not receive and they refused to give me my son's transcript I received $79.04 refund which makes no mathematical sense.

6. Summary

Families considering Schoolio may want to:
• Verify promotional offers and refund policies before enrolling.
• Check that completed coursework is correctly recorded.
• Confirm how payment methods are managed after cancellation.

This review reflects my personal experience and provides factual information about enrollment, technical issues, and account management.

This experience negatively impacted my child, who has autism. He initially felt like he had failed, but the issue was not with him — it was due to challenges with the program. Because we were unable to access his transcript and the refund provided did not reflect the fees paid, he now has to start over from the beginning. We had paid $251.99 for the full year, but only received a refund of $79.04, which does not correspond to the time he was in the program and then unable to access his transcripts therefore no services were technically rendered..

Stay away unless you want a headache…

Stay away unless you want a headache and your child to learn they are wrong when in fact they are right. Since purchasing Schoolio right from the beginning it has been a headached. First I had US and CND Cirriculum mixed in and when I told them they spoke to me like I was an idiot and told me to choose CND which I did, then then realized it was an issue on their side. Then every few classes answers were wrong it did not matter what you did. even choosing wrong answers was wrong. I informed them and was met with gaslighting and told they insure that the program is correct umm no it is not listen!!! for months they refuse to listen and I have not been able to utilize the program or get schooling done due to the amount of stress it is causing both my son and I. I took a break and tried telling Lindsey and she refuses to listen and then when I state if she could not resolve the issue that I would be requesting a refund but rather then taking accountability and resolving the issues she refunds me 79 dollars seriously I paid for the year and have had for almost 4 months and have not been able to utilize the program smoothly and I only get 79 back. no programs for my son everything we did out the window and I get 79 dollars back is a disgrace! I complimented on how the platform could be given if they listen to the customers but they refuse. Stay away. customer service lacks and they will find a way to rip you off and blame you

Thank you Lindsey!

Lindsey Casselman is the best support I could ever have from a homeschool school program owner. She comes with a wealth of experience, patience and compassion. She sets her parents up for success and is more than ready to jump in to help her struggling parents navigate her program. She wants to see her home school families succeed. I had a very serious brain injury from from someone else's negligence, so I was feeling over whelmed with homeschooling. Even though it what was needed for my daughter. Lindsay has made the transition for me from the regular school l system to homeschooling flawless and comforting. I'm no longer over whelmed knowing I have the support from her to help me along the way. This I will be always so appreciative of Lindsay being there to support me and making sure my daughters education is. Success. Thank you so much Lindsay for everything you have done for my daughter Iesha.

Schoolio is a great choice!

Love this as a curriculum easy to use, this will be our 3rd year. My kids enjoy it! Always quick replys for any questions or concerns! Deffenitly recommend as a option!

Took my money and I asked for it to be cancelled before the free trial was up and they still charged my account the $41.99 and still haven't received my refund. It has been past the time they said they refunded my money. Still nothing. I'm tired of being scammed.

Dont waste your money

Stay away from this company. They will take your money and wont bother answering your feedback or any questions in general. Im sure someone in their team will reply to this review to say that isnt correct but i assure you that wont be true.

Their materials are less than mediocre and not sufficient to homeschool or even teach your kids anything part time. I since found many other platforms more useful. Definitely not worth the money. Dont wate your kids time on this.

Schoolio has a great digital platform and incredible customer service! They are quick to respond and extremely supportive. I would highly recommend using schoolio!

Schoolio customer service is absolutely phenomenal! They are so responsive, understanding, and fantastic at fixing any issues.

Our family loves the curriculum, and the digital platform has been one of the best we've tried!

Amazing Customer Service, Great Curriculum

CUSTOMER SERVICE: 5 stars for schoolio's customer service - I've spoken to Irah a few times and she's been super patient and helpful. If it were not for her, I'd have given up on schoolio so long ago!

OFFERING: 4 stars..I took away a star because I felt the website and categories of offers are confusing to understand and navigate around especially for beginners. I also feel the monthly pricing is costly to sustain compared with other homeschool platforms and resources available, but maybe because my child is just starting grade 1, perhaps it would be an okay cost/investment for the future.

I'm on the free trial and I wish some subjects offered more content but overall pretty impressed with the direction that schoolio is taking in building a curriculum to best fit different family needs.

Some features I thought to be outstanding are: ability to add in one's own subject/unit/lessons as well as adding in emotional lessons and things like financial literacy. Kudos to the team for thinking about courses that are not available or taught much in public schools.

Keep up the good work!

I absolutely love schoolio because it focuses on real world, current needs for my stepson. He wants to learn business and the financial education schoolio offers is fantastic. Most schools don't teach kids about money, investing, balancing a budget, etc. I also like the shorter more focused approach so that retention is high. This program is perfect for my 8th grader who is very active in a national basketball club.

Willing to receive feedback and do better!

Edit: I have taken my review from a 1 star experience to a 4 star experience. Since writing the original review I have had the opportunity to speak with the CEO Sathish Bala personally. My concerns were noted, heard and referred “up”. I sincerely appreciated the respectful and clear communication I had with Sathish; and it is clear that he wants to and will do better when he receives constructive feedback.

He put people before policy.

I received my refund (gratefully) and I have been informed that the way the emails are labeled has been changed to reflect more clarity in message (and so that someone doesn’t mistake them as I did). I am impressed with Sathish as a person, and with his leadership. It takes a lot of courage to honestly hear and respond to negative feedback. He also stood up for his employees and I respected that too.

I hope they continue to do well in the future and offer an affordable option for homeschooling Canadians.

I left the review at a 4 star as I was not able to use any of the resources and so cannot speak to how they are completed or how the communication is while using the program long term. However, I would be very willing to give them a chance because of the way this was handled by the leadership.

I don’t recommend this company. I missed the emails reminding me to cancel the 7 day free trial. When I got the email that my subscription had begun I immediately emailed to ask for a refund (within hours of the purchase). The company stood behind their “policy” for no refunds indicating that they give parents enough time to cancel with their emails.

Their emails came to my inbox not from “schoolio” but from “Lindsey” and have the look of so many other spam/promotional emails. Because of this, I completely missed the deadline to cancel. This seems deceptive and sneaky.

I expect this kind of “policy before people” attitude from mass-developed-third-party subscription apps but not from a company that is dedicated to working with parents and educating our kids. I am shocked by the attitude and I’d like to warn other parents thinking of signing up to NOT do it. This disrespectful attitude is is likely to permeate and show up in other areas.

Do better Schoolio!
Try putting people before profits and people before policy. And, have better and clearer communication.

Great curriculum...great price!!

We love how easy this program is to use forvour 3rd grader. It's taking all the planning out of my equation and my homeschooling life much easier.
Their customer service is amazing and quick to answer and help when in need. Our son is really enjoying the lessons and hasn't complained. We are newbies with the online platform and so far give it 5++++ stars. It covers all coure subjects and you can pick their paid electives if you choose. I highly recommend you trying their free trail ans see for yourself!

If I could give a negative star I would!!

I ordered books to be printed I have never been so disappointed and unsatisfied with a product or service. If I could ask for money back I would. My son doesn't have a computer which is why I ordered physical books, I received a cheaply made copy which could have created from Kinkos!

Math answers are not correct…

I love the idea of the digital platform, and that it follows the provincial curriculum. I hoped to use it with my grade 7 child who is in school, but has not had a teacher in 12 weeks. I need a turnkey curriculum source to keep her on schedule without a lot of summer catch up.

We started with the grade 7 math module, but unfortunately the answers are incorrect for many of the math problems. So it was needlessly frustrating for my daughter and impacted her confidence. Apparently they know about this issue, but were not able to give me an update as to when it would be corrected. Without that we can't continue. I have to be able to trust that the supplied answers are correct. Otherwise it takes twice as long as I work through the problem myself to see what is going wrong.

I also think the space theme is a little juvenile for grade 7. It would be nice if they also updated this as the grades progress.
