This course exceeded my expectations. I've been dabbling in cinema for a few years but have been digging deeper the last 6 months. This lead me to having a lot of small islands of knowledge and School of Motion helped me to bridge the gap between all the islands and so much more. Giving me a great foundation to build upon.

The only criticism I have would be that many lectures was recorded on an older version of Cinema 4d which threw me off a few times.

Absolutely fantastic, learned the basics of After Effects in only 6 working weeks, would definitely recommend to any new learners

I learned so much from Cinema 4D Basecamp. I thought the class format was well thought out: the lessons are set up so people at different experience levels can master basics or take on additional challenges. The assignments were fun and my TA provided helpful feedback

It was a very fun and stressful experience. Learn a lot, renew my passion about art and design. The classes were outstanding, and the exercises really push you into what you learn.

After Effects Kickstart is a great way to introduce yourself to the program and motion design. The courses are really helpful in retaining and reinforcing the core fundamentals to take on various projects moving forward.

For me it was learning in connection with life itself, course was so harmoricaly incripted in my life, it was juts what I wanted/ what I needed.
And it feel like something is given to you, its fells not just like you Learning something, its more like they giving you knowlege.
Teacher is Greate, comunity is awesome, and class was so deep in all aspects given. Amazing couse, awesome School!!

I wish the Cinema 4D class and up-to-date videos with maxon is making that impossible because he keep making so many changes in one year. So that's not even School of Motions fault. Overall good.

I've been using AE for a while now, and I had taught myself to animate through tons of tutorials and other online platforms, but this course took all my previous knowledge and made it make sense into the bigger picture that motion design is.

I enrolled for the "Illustration for motion" course. It was worth every penny as i felt growing every week in my illustration skills.

I really loved the training. The pace is good, the build of skills is plotted very well, and the provided package files are easy to use. The only trouble I had was in navigating the platform online — it took some time to learn to easily navigate to the various spots and the interface for viewing lessons and exercises was a little clunky for me.

I live in a country where I have no family members, or friends working in the motion design industry. So I was totally blank when I tried to start out. But I wanted to break the barrier and learn motion design. So I was eagerly searching on the internet for resources. Luckily, I found the School of Motion which gave me the right training, guides, and a great community. Now I am in the run of making my first demo reel, getting out my website, and applying for an internship. And hopefully, I will have School of motion and its amazing people along my way.

School of Motion has been fantastic for developing technical skills. Sometimes the videos drag on a bit because you're watching Nol build something in realtime but I definitely learned a lot. I really like that they provide pdf files and that you can annotate the videos in case you want to return to a particular section.

This was VERY informative, easy to follow, and a LOT of information that helped me gain confidence in motion design! Highly recommend taking any and all SoM classes!!!

The most important insight first: The way I look at animation and how I create it has fundamentally changed. The individual lessons build on each other in a meaningful way and are excellently supplemented by podcasts. I also find the teaching assistants' critique of each homework assignment, published as a video, useful, as it gives you another deeper insight into what you've just created.
But I also found that depending on the teaching assistant, the criticism was more or less good. I would have liked some lecturers to deal with the animation a little more deeply and thus also express a more profound criticism. Instead, in my opinion, compliments were given too often so as not to demotivate the students. I don't think it's wrong to compliment, but in order to really improve, the teaching assistants should take a little more time to point out in detail what is going badly and what is going well.
Nonetheless: Great school, I will come back!

School of Motion is worth the money; I've lost money on other courses but not this one. I just finished Design Bootcamp and it was great! I've been hunting for courses to grow my design skills for months and I have tried multiple. I know myself and having a set time frame and real people giving feedback and encouragement makes a monumental difference in my self-discipline. I also enjoyed the community and openness to feedback School of Motion provides.

One thing not often talked about is the type of projects in a course and how they are presented. I've tried other courses where there is too much freedom and you get stuck. School of Motion gives you a clear example and guidelines to make a very similar but unique piece. Yet if you are stuck, they encourage you to copy the instructor just to get the practice in and learn the techniques.

My experience with School of Motion was absolutely amazing! I'm about the complete After Effects Kickstart course and so far the course has been so much fun and informative. If you don't know much about after effects and motion graphics I would highly recommend this course for beginners. Nol is an excellent teacher and definitely knows how to teach. It is impossible to not learn during this course. Teaching style is that good :) Lastly, Teacher assistants are also a great help for your learning journey in this course. Their feedbacks and guidance are on point.

Studying with SOM brought me the confidence to start my motion grapher career. I'm really grateful and much more confident using After Effects

SOM did an awesome job, as a person not familiar with After Effects I am now confident to apply what I have learn in After Effect Kick start and build from there. I am still learning but SOM has given me a strong foundation on which I can only get better.
