Don’t buy a SEAT
Don’t buy a SEAT
I have stupidly had three SEAT’s two Leon’s and an Arona.
The first the electrics failed on the doors, the second on the electric handbrake causing a ten mile tail back on the A40
The third today dynamic corner light and indicators. I get a bill of £1,000 for a wiring issue , you guessed not covered by the warranty.
Shit electrics make shit cars
Gearbox failed at 60’000 miles
Gearbox failed at 60’000 miles.
SEAT dealership told us Halfords would be cheaper than them!/didn’t want to know.
SeatUK not interested.
Don’t buy a SEAT if you want any sort of positive service. Look at the other reviews - what an awful company.
Complete waste of time!!
Complete waste of time!!!
Norwich Seat !!
Booked a 10am service drove over an hour to get there to be told they have no record of it being booked in..
Was told there’s a fault with booking online that it don’t pass the info over and been going on for months..
The service woman booking people in was useless and had no interest whatsoever in helping her demeanour and her attitude was as if she couldn’t be bothered.
So now got to wait 3-4 months before it can be done that will be on the service record as being done late..
Time to change the car to a dealer with a better service record..
Avoid buying SEAT at all costs
Awful Customer Service Experience from SEAT
SEAT customer service has been appalling. We’ve been trying to resolve a clear fault with the headlight, which their own dealership confirmed has internal cracking that couldn’t possibly have been caused by us — yet SEAT continue to pass the blame and avoid taking responsibility.
My partner is 7 months pregnant and now without her car, adding completely unnecessary stress. Worse still, I’ve found multiple other SEAT Leon owners with the exact same issue in the same location — but SEAT refuse to acknowledge any potential manufacturing defect or even investigate it properly.
The complete lack of communication, care, or accountability is disgraceful. A truly awful experience.

Had a wonderful experience today at the Derby showroom ordered our son, his first car and they went above and beyond to get the car here quick and get my son on the road!
Brake Discs OK said Perrys-Well not really!!
Took 18 plate Ibiza into Perrys Preston ( turned out it was Kia outlet ) for 12 month service and MOT. Have a Service plan, so nothing to pay unless faults found.
Picked up car. Passed MOT with no advisories. Service carried out. Vehicle health check advised front brake pads worn 70% and rear down to 3mm.Advised to replace both. Discs ticked ' green ' meaning OK.
Took to local garage for new pads.
They advised rear pads ' almost gone ' and needs new Discs- front and rear '.
IVO Perry's OK I went to inspect and was horrified to see state of rear pads-they were almost gone. All 4 discs were badly scored and did indeed need replacing immediatley.
Spoke to Service Mgr at Perry's who simply said technician did a visual inspection only!
When cars are serviced only every 12mths for a hefty fee I expect it to leave with a clean bill of helalth or a thorough inspection to sdvise all faults.
Perrys are a main dealer, not a 'back st garage'.
I'm appalled at their workmanship! They even suggested that in the 10 days since they had the car ( when it had done less than 50 extra miles), the pads and discs could have deteriorated!
I should have known better than to take it to Perrys since I took my Peugeot van away from Perrys Bolton having gotten fed up with their workmanship!
Cancelled the Service Plan, having now learnt my lesson. Will never go back to Perrys!
FURIOUS!
FURIOUS!! IM BUYING A MOTABILITY CAR AND THE SALESMAN LITERALLY WAS HAPPY TO ORDER, NOT TGE SPECIAL I WANTED AND THEN AFTER SAYING AND HIM KNOWING IM LOOKING AT ONE OTHER BRAND, PUT MY DETAILS IN THE MOTABILITY SITE WHICH HAS NOW PREVENTED ME FROM ORDERING THE CAR I WANT.
HE WAS ALSO EXTREMELY UNINTERESTED IN ME AS A CUSTOMER ALSO THE SPEC I WANTED SO
IF THIS IS NOT REMOVED TODAY FROM MOTABILITY, I WILL BE SPEAKING TO THE CEO OF GROUP 1 AS WELL AS MOTABILITY. Shame as it’s a nice looking car but service is AWFUL. Richard was the salesman. By your trustpilot reviews that says it all.
company of liars
This company has no customer care, they tell lies when selling you a car and then when you complain they deny they ever said it. They refuse to give out the email address of the CEO so that you can take your complaint to the top and instead tell you to take it to the motoring ombudsman. If i could give no stars at all i would. They have even told me they will not respond to anymore emails from me.

Got a Seat Ateca in May 24 via motability. The infotainment system started to develop faults in October. I had to wait about a month for it to be looked at and was told they couldn’t find a fault. Since then the system regularly disconnects or refuses to connect. It also now goes blank so I’m having to use my old phone holder stuck onto the screen if I need a reliable sat nav. Keyless open/close is temperamental and I’ve had random warning lights flashing up for no reason.
I’m now having to wait 3 weeks for it to be looked at. I had less trouble with my battered 16 year old Kia than I’ve had with this brand new thing 😡
Poor customer care
At 5 months old my SEAT Arona developed a fault. I was given a variety of conflicting and confusing advice from the local dealer and roadside assistance. I contacted Customer Services to help resolve the issue and they just made the matter worse. They didn't bother to read my emails. I appreciate cars can develop faults, but the main fault is a Customer Service department that doesn't care.
Avoid
Avoid! Bought a Seat Arona April 2024, came with a 2 year extended warranty (all components). Boot mechanism has failed and they will not be able to confirm if it’s covered until I pay £130/hr for a diagnostic. If not covered, then I will also pay for the parts and labour. Halfords will charge £120 to replace. The warranty is just a Seat money making scheme. They also refused to log a complaint.
The worst in history WIGAN SEAT
The worst service in history been left with no car for 5 days after car went in for mot and brake replacement , been booked in for weeks to arrive on the day to be told they know nothing about the brakes and service and on day of pick up the car magically developed a fault a would not start and to be told it ok you got a courtesy car bearing in mind I bought a seat and was given a mg and still expected to pay for my vehicle finance for a car I carnt use would never buy a seat again after the service they provide they not bothered as long as they got you money DO NOT BUY from WIGAN SEAT
Seat Hatfield
Seat Hatfield, provide the worst Sales and would never buy a car from them or recommend to anyone. Raise a complaint after numerous issues with my used car, after 4 weeks they say thank you we will carry out additional training. No offer of compensation for any stressed caused and the umpteen visits and inconvenience
Save your money and buy from another manufacturer or dealership.
Broken Gearbox
Broken Gearbox. 4 year old car. Only 50k miles. Reported 6 months ago. Still Ongoing. Quoted nearly £7k to fix. Clearly a faulty part fitted in the car or are all Seat cars badly made. If someone bought a brand new Seat, did 50k in it in 3 years and the gearbox broke the customer would be appalled but it would be covered by warranty. After 3 years its tough, your problem! Miscommunication, Misinformation, Terrible Customer Service from the Customer Care Team.
Got a gearbox broken
Got a gearbox broken, Seat dealer for replacing the DSG quote 11600pounds! If Seat wants to fit their cars with expensive gearbox, the minimum would be to have a good quality product. Gearbox failure at 44500 miles is not what we expected, and no goodwill as the car is said to be 10 yo and not under warranty, when the car is 8yo is frankly upsetting. asking me to pay an additional 300 pounds of diagnosis to end with zero goodwill on the basis of information the age of the car, after 2 months with Customer service manager not phoning back. The whole thing has been seriously distressing. I was treated poorly
Seat Hatfield
Seat / Cupra Hatfield
Had a small coolant housing leak on my seat ateca booked in given a loan car,my car returned the next day

Been friendly caring and professional .
Wish I had read these reviews before buying SEAT Ateca…
Wish I had read these reviews before purchasing.
Both front shock absorbers leaking after just over 3 years. Very poor customer service and wanted me to pay £156 for a diagnostic of leaking shock absorbers before they would offer any support. Very polite staff in their emails however, the vehicle is NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE and neither was the support. D.M Kieth York SEAT - very poor customer service. They also wanted £££ before they agree to fix your brand new car. The cars look very nice but I will never buy SEAT again. 05365948
Inferior components - not built to last!
My SEAT Mii Electric is 4.5 yrs old and has 13,000 miles on the clock. Recently, a fault has been flagged preventing the car from being charged. The handbook says that the selector is not in the parked position. But it is in the parked position otherwise I would not be able to remove the keys from the ignition lock. The only way I have been able to charge the car is by leaving the key in it and switched on - not a very safe option!
Having contacted the dealership, I was told this is a common fault across the VW Group inasmuch as the selector switch fails and needs to be replaced. This little switch cost me £175, plus labour of £150, plus VAT to bring the total to £390. At home, I can fully charge the car for £5 and, on average, that gives it a range of 100 miles. So replacing the switch is equivalent to 7800 miles of travel - driving a VW Group electric car is therefore, perhaps, not the best economic decision to make!!
Or, maybe, the VW Group uses inferior quality components that are not expected to last more than 4.5 yrs / 13000 miles?
MOT with them took 9.5 hours
My car went in for an MOT, they had it for 6 hours before they contacted me about work it needed and then had it for a further 3.5 hours to complete the work. 9.5 hours for an MOT that resulted in the wiper blades and break pads needing to be replaced is not acceptable. I had to chase them three times to get them to contact me to approve the works. If I hadn’t, they would have had my car longer.
The work they did I’m sure is fine, only time will tell but terrible service. When I called to chase up I was treated in a very patronising way.
I have rung 6 Seat dealers around…
I have rung 6 Seat dealers around London over 2 weeks to get an infotainment fault fixed. Not once did I get to speak to someone in Service; either no one picked the phone at all or if they did, the person wasn’t from Service and said they’d get someone to call me back. Not one did. Seat UK are useless, only offering to contact the dealers - but how can they be trusted when they are so disinterested in customer care.
