Wonderful brand! Is always tricky trying to choose between more natural and sustainable products and products that actually work ... With selkie you don't have to choose because it does both. Hair looks and feels great, the eco packaging is wonderful ( also love how the bottles look in my shower) and it doesn't have any of the weird nasty stuff. Customer service is also quick and super friendly. Can't think of any downside really! Very happy customer:)

I think the Selkie shampoo and conditioner are genius, I have thin hair and a lot of it, and for years the usual shampoos and conditioners made it limp, and I needed to wash it every day. Since using Selkie, my hair is thicker and healthier and stays clean longer, which means less washing, less water use too!

Great experience from selkie hair products. Refills arrive quickly after ordering and well packaged.The shampoo is suiting my menopausal hair and I am able to go alot longer inbetween washes. I think I will be sticking with this product for a long time to come. It is a little expensive but well worth it in my opinion

I ordered my starter kit a few weeks ago and have been using it since then and I'm never going back!My hair feela soft and so healthy, it looks great and im not throwing plastic bottles away! Well done SELKIE!

Customer service is always really helpful and quick to reply. The shampoo & conditioner make my hair feel amazing and as someone with wavy/frizzy hair it makes it feel much smoother and straighter in a way other products dont seem to. I dont use it as my 'daily' product as I find I need to use alot of product to get my hair to feel clean and well conditioned, (it doesnt really lather on my thick hair) so it doesn't last as long as I'd like. Great sustainable product but a high price for regular use. Will buy again as a treat!

I really wanted to love this shampoo and conditioner. I like the powder-to-liquid concept and the idea of reducing single-use plastic, but unfortunately neither product worked for me.

The shampoo feels thin and watery, and I find it difficult to spread evenly through my hair. My hand seems to slip over it rather than work it into my hair. It doesn’t lather much, which I expected, but the whole experience feels awkward and unpleasant. My hair feels clean afterwards, but also a little drier than usual.

The conditioner feels watery rather than rich, is hard to distribute through my lengths, and doesn’t detangle my hair at all. I’m not keen on the scent either, although that’s a smaller issue for me.

Once I mixed the powders with water, the bottles were only about half full. I also need to use quite a lot of both products each time, so I doubt they’ll last more than around ten washes, if that. At this price, that feels very expensive.

I’m disappointed because I genuinely like the concept, but I don’t enjoy using these products and won’t be repurchasing.

Right, confession time. I bought Selkie's shampoo and conditioner mostly because "give it a Selkie shake" sounded like a dance move I wanted to learn. Turns out it is also an excellent way to wash your hair.
For anyone who hasn't cottoned on yet: it arrives as a powder. You fill the bottle with water, tip the powder in, shake it like you're in a 90s boyband video, and thirty seconds later you have a proper shampoo. No fizzing science experiment, no lumps, just shampoo. The conditioner works the same way and leaves my hair feeling like it's been to a spa.
The bit that actually got me though is the plastic. Every other shampoo I've ever bought has been about 90% water shipped across the country in a bottle I then bin. This is just the good stuff, in a little packet, and I refill the same bottle. My recycling bin looks genuinely underemployed.
Lathers well, smells lovely without shouting about it, and my hair has stopped doing that weird static thing it does in autumn. Would I recommend it? I've already made my wife do the Selkie shake, so yes.
Ten out of ten, would shake again.

Never going back!

Since using Selkie I have noticed such a difference in the quality of my hair. It feels so much softer and I really can notice an improvement in the number of times I need to wash my hair a week, it doesn’t get nearly as greasy. Love it!

The products are lovely and well packaged in a timely manner. I really like how to products are on my hair, it feels lovely and clean and a plus point, the time between washes can be as much as a week, which is a boon for coloured hair in terms of preserving your colour for longer. For me the formulation being environmentally kind is important.
Also, if travelling and there is a liquid restriction you could put some or all of the powders in a bottle and rehydrate when you are on holiday, saving time at security. Winner, winner!
Although currently a little expensive, they are cheaper on subscription, which I have taken up but I suspect as the products achieve increased sales the price will come down.

Discovered this product/brand from their dragons den episode a month ago. Since I’ve been using the shampoo and conditioner over the last few weeks my hair has never felt better!! I couldn’t recommend this product more

Bought this afternoon seeing it on Dragons Den as I loved the concept and had seen a few reviews on here from people with greasy hair who found it worked for them. For me it's been a total waste of money. The shampoo doesn't foam up, after the first use it left my hair feeling really greasy like it hadn't been washed so needed washing again the next day.

The conditioner is horrendous and left my hair feeling really knotty. Gave that 3 goes and each had the same result.

Tried the shampoo a second time and it still left my hair feeling awful so the whole lot is now in the bin.

Shame no from the business actually bothers commenting back to their customers on here either, that's no way to run a business.

My hair is incredibly fine and to begin with I was struggling with the conditioner. So I made contact with Selkie and they responded with a very detailed message which has made all the difference. The team have been more than helpful and I would recommend these products wholeheartedly.

Has to be the worst shampoo and conditioner I’ve ever used. I bought the set after seeing it on Dragon’s Den because I loved the concept but unfortunately from the moment the shampoo touched my hair it felt incredibly dry and brittle. It took me significantly longer than normal to brush out the tangles. I had to throw both away after one wash.

I love the new shampoo particularly the dispenser is robust with a good plunge top. It was very easy to put the powder and water together. The shampoo is lovely and silky and the conditioner excellent people commented how shiny my hair was. Also, I use less shampoo because it is in a plunger bottle and one plunge is enough to wash my hair rather than having to tip it out of an old-fashioned bottle where always too much comes out so while it is more expensive I suspect it will work out similar in Price on the fact that it will last longer and lastly I love the concept of conservation and sustainability well done brilliant

I am so delighted with this haircare - it has exceeded my expectations!
My hair feels so soft and silky & looks really shiny & healthy. I can sometimes get an itchy scalp & that has gone too. My hair feels light & not ‘weighed down’. I absolutely love it & would definitely recommend.
Some travel bottles would be good in the future as the current bottles with the pumps would be tricky to pack.

If you’re looking for a shampoo and conditioner that’s kind to your hair and scalp, contains no nasties and is kind to the environment I highly recommend Selkie products.

I came across Selkie after watching Dragons’ Den and was intrigued after a long, long hunt (and many pounds spent on products that promised the world, to no avail) for a product that worked for an incredibly itchy scalp.

So, nothing ventured, nothing gained!

Not only does my scalp not itch anymore but my hair is in the best condition it has been for years.

It takes a bit of getting used to using less product with less foaming but I can truly say it won’t take long and the results are well worth it.

And to top it all, if you do have any queries the Selkie team are incredibly friendly and very, very helpful, and respond quickly, which is always a bonus in my book.

So, I would say go and have a read of their website and try the products out, your hair will thank you ☺️

And lastly, no, I wasn’t paid in any form to write this review. I am just so very happy I watched Dragons’ Den that night and want to pass on my thoughts!

Excellent product - makes my hair feel soft and silky. They have a different consistency from the traditional brands, but it's easy to get used to. Eco friendly as well!

Have tried selfie for a few weeks now and it has made such a difference to my hair texture, colour and weight. Very pleased with the product, would recommend

I really really really wanted to love this. Saw it on dragons den, loved the lady and also the sustainability of the product. I bought straight after the show. I have normal shoulder length hair. You have to use a lot of the shampoo nearly a quarter of the bottle to shampoo my hair and although it feels silky and your hands, on your hair it feels like your washing your hair with a very cheap shower gel, made my hair feel like straw. The conditioner is also unusual, I had to use quite a lot and my hair just felt like straw, could hardly get a brush through it. Anyway I thought I would trust the process and dry it. Unfortunately, it has left my hair, dry and flyaway, so I had to throw away. I would try again though if there was a new version of it, as I like the idea of it of principle.
