I'm fairly new to the Shrewdm community and have found it to be an excellent resource to learn more about investing. The Berkshire Hathaway board has been a great place to learn more about the company along with other investing topics.
A few years ago The Motley Fool made changes to their investing discussion boards that basically destroyed a vibrant community who had been posting there for decades. Shrewdm has provided a new, free, site that continues the best of those traditions. There is very little of the "hot pick" posts and ranting often seen on other investing boards on shrewdm.com Instead, there tends to be in-depth, respectful discussion of various investing ideas, often oriented toward 'value investing'. I have the Berkshire board and a number of other boards set in my Chrome menu bar so that I can easily read them every day. The level of investing experience of participants is very high, and there is willingness to share knowledge, e.g. of options. The shrewdm.com site administrator is extremely capable and responsive.
Shrew’d is an unbelievable learning hub covering a vast range of topics.
The Berkshire Hathaway board, in particular, is the single best source of information on the company you'll find anywhere. The depth of talent and quality of discussion among contributors—many of whom have been active here and on predecessor boards for over 30 years—is extraordinary.
Personally, my investment returns over the past three decades have doubled the S&P 500 returns. What’s even more interesting is that my performance relative to that benchmark continues to improve. I credit 95% of what I know about investing to what I’ve learned on Shrew’d.
It’s a thoughtful, respectful, and generous community—and one of the most valuable resources I’ve encountered in my investing life.
Truly excellent self-education investing community. Shrewd’m carried on the community from The Motley Fool when their public forums took a weird format, so Shrewd’m is how TMF used to be when it was successful. It is particularly slanted toward value investing. The Falling Knives, Mechanical Investing, Brookfield Corporation and Berkshire Hathaway boards are my daily ones.
