I have had Silhouette glasses since the turn of the century. They are the epitome of frameless glasses allowing the user to experience almost complete vision without the blockage of peripheral vision that normal frames cause. They are long-lasting (my primary pair are from 2000 and are still perfect), and new lenses have been put into the existing frames twice without issue. My reading glasses have had to have new arms, and even though these could not be fully fixed in the UK, a chance visit to the House of Silhouette in Vienna not only fixed the problem perfectly, they made a couple of minor changes to make them fit perfectly. I would have no hesitation in recommending Silhouette glasses to anyone, and I cannot fathom the negativity on this site.

I am 53 year old and this is the first review I ever write. Both me and my husband bought Silhouette prescription glasses and sunglasses frames in Calgary, Canada from our optician for 15 years as she was trying to convince us to choose another brand. She was so right - they both broke(hinges and middle of arm) right after the warranty expired, 2 years, and the sunglasses were TITANIUM. Customer service is non-existent but ADVERTISING FOR THE BRAND IS EVERYWHERE. Initially I thought it was just bad luck for us but then asking family, friends, co-workers I found out that was not the case. I have learned my lesson to do my own research and not trust advertising. Would like to warn as many people as possible to avoid the Silhouette rip off. They are just a bad player! I went to many retailers and told them my story and I was so happy to see that here in North America they moved the Silhouette display to a small corner and reduced it quite a bit. Retailers in Europe listened to me but didn't do anything about it or maybe not right away, I will go check that out next year and I shall keep doing that, my bit to help put Silhouette in the low corner where these money-grab players deserve to be.

Silhouette glasses are absolutely shockingly bad, I’ve had many pairs of designer glasses that I’ve had and have served theirs purpose but silhouette glasses I’ll tell you will not last, I’ve had mine less than 18 months and twice needed to take them back to the opticians to get them fixed and yet again guess what! They are broken yet again, these glasses I will not recommend anyone to buy, they are extremely flimsy, I’ve never in this planet I’ve ever experienced such a poor quality product for a high price, in my experience of owning these glasses would certainly cause you stress, I’ve resulted to using my old glasses until I get my eyes tested again in another 8 months time, my message is DO NOT BUY SILHOUETTE GLASSES YOU WILL INDEED BE EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED, I think I’d be better off going to the market for £1 glasses and they would probably more than likely last a whole lot longet

We had been a loyal and supportive retailer of Silhouette eyewear over many years and had built up a loyal base of customers. However, Silhouette decided that it would impose restrictions on retailers selling their products, so without notice or discussion, closed our account. We still have customers return to us with broken frames (the hingeless design is notorious for snapping at the front), but Silhouette is not interested in helping. Poor company who couldn't care less about its customers (as exemplified by the lack of response to complaints made in these Trustpilot reviews).

Disappointed with Silhouette

I used to be a big fan of Silhouette glasses, especially their rimless titanium models, known for being flexible and durable. However, my recent experience has been disappointing.

I’ve had to replace the temple arm twice due to poor quality materials, and the last time they refused to cover it under warranty. The quality has clearly declined, and the after-sales service is terrible.

For the high price, these glasses are no longer worth it. They used to be a premium product, but now their durability is comparable to cheaper brands. Silhouette has ruined its reputation by cutting corners on quality. I won’t buy from them again and wouldn’t recommend them to anyone.

I was a fan of Silhouette glasses and had had two pairs of the basically frameless kind with the holes drilled into the lens. But this last time I purchased one with a bit more of a frame. Within 3 months of buying them one arm came off which concerned me so I made a report of this to my optometrist's office. I have treated them carefully but within 2 years one end plastic cover piece on an arm came off and was lost and since then the end piece on the other arm has come off numerous times. The company completely ignored my complaint. Yesterday the frame completely disintegrated. Totally fell apart. The frame was expensive and has been well treated.

They bend out of shape within a week. I am careful to remove them with both hands, lay them flat, but they still stretch and you have to go back to the optometrist to get them re-fitted. Suchawasteoftime.

Order placed 2 weeks ago, and still no information on it being dispatched from the warehouse. No answers to emails. Better spend your money on a reliable and real business

The nose pads are especially made and fall off often rendering the glasses unusable as you must use AND PAY FOR their silhouette nose pads. I would never buy them again.
I am very disappointed in silhouette glasses. I am currently wearing the style no. 5452. The nose pad keeps falling off. I have had to pay for several replacement nose pads. The require special nose pads. The glasses cut my nose when they are not in place. I cannot use the glasses when I am waiting for replacement nose pads. I WOULD NEVER BUY THEM AGAIN.

I bought a pair of new glasses with a frame from Silhouette.
After 2 years of regular use of the glasses, the frame began to break and pieces fell off the frame.
Because I had bought the glasses abroad, Spain, I contacted Silhouette directly, and after several attempts, I got the name of a person in Sweden who is surppose to take care of business in the Nordics.
Again after many attempts I got in touch with Mrs. Yvonne.
She was very rude and said "Go to an optician" and slammed down the phone.
I can not recommend buying glasses with a frame from Silhouette, very expensive, bad quality and poor service.
