Lost its way
I have used this company in the past for a registered officer and directors service office and found the quality excellent, but how things have changed. Tried to pay for a service yesterday via online and was told the payment had not gone through. Checked my bank account which was fine but when I called the company was just told that the server is fine and try later. I did and the same thing happened. Then spent nearly 1 hour on the phone with my bank who were very helpful and they found out that there was a link broken which would stop payment. Called the company again to suggest I pay using a sort code and account number but was told it has to be through the server, but how do you pay if there is a broken link????????? Found another company to deal with and extremely happy as this company has lost its way.
IN REPLY TO THE ANSWER FROM A PERSON WHO DOES NOT NAME THEMSELVES. ON MANY OCCASIONS I ASKED YOUR AGENT IF I COULD PAY AS YOU SUGGESTED AND I WAS PUT ON HOLD WHILST HE ASKED HIS MANAGER AND HIS RESPONSE WAS ‘WE HAVE NEVER DONE THIS AS ITS NOT THE WAY WE OPERATE’. WOULD YOU LIKE TO DISCUSS COMPENSATION AS I INTEND TO MAKE SURE THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN TO OTHERS

Hi We continue to use the same payment systems that we have had in place for many years. We do not know why your card was refused, our systems process hundreds of payments weekly. Your bank should have an explanation. In the meantime you should have been offered the facility to make a direct payment to our bank and we regret that the agent was not more helpful. Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience.

Wasn't great experience at 3rd time
They used to be a good company and have form many companies via them but not anymore as last experience wasn't that great, paid for sameday service with same account that i have used to form other companies and despite that they were asking me why i am forming another company which wasn't their jurisdiction to ask so no more Smartformations for me :(

We are required to comply with AML laws. We must also meet Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements within our obligations under AML laws and compliance with regulators' guidance.
To meet our AML obligations, we must check IDs, ask questions, and conduct risk assessments about our client's activities. These are hugely onerous obligations, which are explained on our website:

Most clients only have one or two companies, so your third formation raised a question.

Nice and quick eperience
It was a nice and quick eperience. They handled my case in a few days and did it quick and well. I'm sure a UK citizen can get his company up and running within 4-48 hours true them.

VAT Registration Failed
I have selected non resident Package with VAT registration. National insurance number is mandatory to register VAT.
How can a foreign national can get National Insurance Number without having UK address or any status or rights to live.
They need to mention that to VAT registration must need NIN or UK address. They haven't mentioned this anywhere on their site.

We appreciate your feedback, and we want to address your concerns. You are correct in pointing out that some non-residents will have difficulties with VAT registration, which should have been mentioned on our website.
The VAT registration service for non-residents is being removed following your complaint, even though some non-residents are UK nationals with NI numbers, and some non-residents with UK agents are not subject to the NI requirement.
We are happy to refund you the portion of the fee you paid related to the VAT registration. That refund will be actioned today. Please accept our apology for the inconvenience.
