For a property sold at £330,000, this means you paid less than what many local agents would charge. Thanks Ella Seki (Sold) and Luke Battensby (Sayer Moore & CO Solicitors) for the service and helping me to sell my property in Hull. Though it was a different experience hence selling a property and was everything online, it was a good experience indeed. To be honest, I was tensed and suspicious that the sale of my property is going to take place because the first time I have sold a property online.
Nevertheless, everything has gone through and everything went smoothly and quickly.
It was a happy ending in the end Indeed.

Avoid using this company
We put in an offer for a flat being sold by sold.co.uk. The offer was accepted and Sarah James recommended using their solicitors. As their solicitor was double the price quoted elsewhere we said we wouldn't use them. However, Sarah said they would match the quote, so we agreed to use them and paid £120 file opening fee. The solicitor sent through all the information, but the quote hadn't been updated. I email the solicitor for an updated quote and got no reply. I phoned the solicitor and got no reply. 4 weeks later, after a few more emails I got a reply from the solicitor who said that they couldn't match the quote and that he'd told sold.co.uk that two weeks previously. I don't know if Sarah James made a mistake or if it was a plain lie. The property was actually repossessed, the seller clearly needed a quick sale and the hold up with the solicitor prevented that, and was being sold through another company, but sold didn't tell us this. It took weeks to get a refund of the £120 we paid. They phoned several times a day when we first put in the bid, but when I wanted to speak to them I phoned and phoned and sent email and never got a reply. Really poor service.

The property was unfortunately repossessed during the sales process, which was beyond our control and only became known to us afterward. Regarding the solicitor’s fee adjustment, we had every intention to honour the price match, but since the sale was no longer proceeding, we processed a refund instead. Unfortunately, the refund took longer than anticipated due to an internal delay, for which we apologise.
We are actively working to improve our processes to avoid similar issues in the future. Thank you for your feedback, and again, we’re sorry for any inconvenience this caused.
Poor Communication
Very poor communication with this organisation and trying to contact them is a long drawn out process. Their marketing strategy appears to be an only drop the price strategy even when I had got 3 different estimates from local estate agents.
Very disappointed with the service and would not recommend them to anyone else.

Waste of time
I recently booked an appraisal with Sold.co.uk, but it was quite disappointing. Instead of a video call, they opted for a phone appraisal, which seemed odd since the agent couldn’t see the property. Despite significant modernisations made over the past six years, the agent referenced outdated information and offered a valuation 30% lower than other agents. It was clear they did no research on the area or the property. I won’t be using them again and will advise others to avoid them as well. Total waste of time!

Initially not good, but got a lot better
Initially, very convoluted service, different people within their organisation not talking to each other, leading to double cross of info. However got a lot better towards the end. Ella done her very best to turn it around to a succesful conclusion
My honest opinion, is listen more to your clients and take onboard our concerns as sellers. Other than that, good job

Just sold an apartment with Sold
Just sold an apartment with Sold. They were extremely professional from start to finish, with our initial contact with Chris and then with our sales progressor Ella. In fact, Ella went above and beyond, dealing and chasing up the solicitors on both sides of the sale with instantaneous results and she was the one keeping my stress levels to a minimum! Wouldn't hesitate to recommend or use Sold again, all in all a great company!

Quick sale
Apart from some initial teething problems with viewings and communication we were very happy with Sold. Photos were very good and done very quickly. I was able to add to the house description to tailor it to our home and negotiate an asking price with them.
We accepted our full asking price within about 4 weeks even though there was plenty of other competition out there.

False hope
Initially offered a cash offer of 75% of the estimated property value. They then reduced it to 15% based on misunderstanding information from an estate agent who had just sold a neighbouring party. They said they could then get me a better offer from the investment side of the business, which was still around 60%. Thankfully my onwards purchase doesn't require this property to sell, as I would've wasted weeks with this company.

House Sale - Well deserved 5 stars
Well deserved 5 stars. What can I say. From dealing with viewings to finalising the sale. You kept me updated throughout and it wasn't exactly a straightforward sale. Thea you were amazing. I cannot thank you enough for getting my property over the line. It still feels like a dream but it's real. I can't believe it after a very stressful and difficult house sale. Sold and Thea made the impossible possible. Other agents and cash buyers failed but your company stuck with me through to the end. Thank you so much. Thea you kept me updated throughout the whole sale process and it finally completed last month. Thanks again your such an asset to Sold. I will certainly recommend your company and use you again.

Buyers beware...
I can't say my experience as a buyer with sold.co.uk has been at all positive. Having had an offer accepted on the property by the seller Sold continue to send viewings (I know this as I live next door). Attempts to provide the required evidence of funding and other documentation to allow Sold to "take the house off the market" are being frustrated by staff that don't answer emails, pick up the phone, return calls and keep moving the goalposts. The experience has been stressful and it's only the beginning!

Hi Ian, we have been speaking to your daughter in relation to the offer placed on the property.
Whilst we understand the frustration, the funds for the purchase needed to be verified as do ID & Proof of Address for all purchasers. It is far more complicated than simply showing a bank statement. Large cash funds require us to pass our Businesses Compliance checks and Anti-Money Laundering processes. As an Online Agent, we do not meet our Buyers face-to-face, thus the need to comply with strict guidelines set by our business or risk fines form the HMRC of thousands of pounds.
We do hope you can appreciate nobody is above this process, and until our compliance team is satisfied, we are unable to proceed into Legal as per our Businesses guidelines.
Furthermore, our Sales Negotiator had been clear from the start that unless we satisfy the above the property will remain on the market. Your daughter has already been informed by the Sales Team that compliance had reviewed all documents and the property was listed as Sold Subject to Contract. This takes time to action on the portals as we do not control them.
We understand this may not be a process you are used to or happy with, but we have been clear on our requirements from the start and must abide by our businesses Legal requirements.
