I already work in a design studio and found the academy really useful for reassurance. It confirmed a lot of things I already knew, but also highlighted common mistakes to avoid. Having key dimensions is so helpful and I printed out the workbook and it’s something I now refer back to regularly. Really enjoyed the course and would definitely recommend to anyone that’s thinking about joining.

I joined because I wanted to hire a designer but it was too expensive so I decided to try to understand design properly myself rather than just trying to copy ideas from Pinterest and Instagram. The academy helped me really understand my space, how each room will be used, and how to design around circulation and proportions rather than focusing on aesthetics alone.

I’m renovating a period property and found the guidance on bespoke joinery particularly helpful, especially when dealing with awkward or unusual spaces. Fabrics were another area I felt unsure about before, I didn’t understand what was suitable for different rooms. I now have a clear understanding of rub counts, durability, and where to source fabrics properly, which has made decision-making much easier.

I didn’t realise how many small details go into good design until taking this course. The academy helped me move from feeling stuck to feeling confident and ready to start my renovation. Everything felt broken down into manageable steps which I can follow and is exactly what I needed! I really enjoyed the whole course and it’s a great resource that I will keep coming back to! I've chosen this design course because I was admiring Sophie Paterson's interiors. I wanted to know how this is created, what materials and techniques are used. I'm in the middle of the course now and I'm enjoying it. There are loads to remember, and I like the structure of the course; some things are repetitive, so it helps to memorise what you've heard in the previous lessons, for instance, eglomise mirror, different types of natural stone, pros and cons. Sophie delivers what she promised in this course, and I respect that.

As an established interior designer, I´m constantly seeking new ways of gaining new knowledge and competence. Sophie Patersons´s content on SoMe is a major source of inspiration, both in terms of style and quality in processes and final result. Thus, I was really excited when the training was launched, and the content has not disappointed! The level av detail, quality in the modules and the thorough work and thought that has been put into the training is simply impressive. In a hectic work week, I can only fit my own training in small batches in between, but loving every minute of it and looking forward to each module, new video and workbook. Well done Sophie and team, I can very much recommend this training also to experienced designers!

I’ve always loved Sophie’s style, so when I saw this course available, I signed up right away. I’m really enjoying it and learning a lot. The reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that I wish it were a bit more interactive — it would be great to have some assignments or projects to work on. Overall, though, as someone who loves interior design, I find it very interesting and inspiring.

I’ve wanted to get into interior design since leaving school and even pursued it briefly in further education before life took me in a different direction. After a long career in tech, I was recently made redundant during maternity leave and decided it was finally time to really seize the opportunity and follow my passion and build the creative career I’d always dreamed of since I was a child.

When Sophie Paterson announced this course, the timing honestly couldn’t have been better. It felt meant to be. I didn’t hesitate to sign up, and I’m so glad I did. The course gives such valuable insight into the design process from start to finish, covering all the details you need to consider at every stage. I especially appreciated that it balanced aesthetics with practicality, something that’s often overlooked.

If I had to make one small observation, it’s that the examples and project budgets lean quite heavily toward the high-end luxury market. That’s aspirational and inspiring, but as someone just starting out, I’d love to see a few more examples or modules that touch on budget-friendly approaches too.

I started the course as soon as it launched and it has been everything I’ve wanted when learning. I joined Sophie’s academy not long after it launched and have been extremely pleased with the courses offered. Even though I am not an interior designer, the course has been an invaluable resource for my own personal projects. I feel I now have a better understanding on how to approach a remodel, and can see the mistakes I made when I updated/remodeled my first apartment. Course is delivered in layman language adding ample of examples and videos which makes it more interesting. It makes you to think and visualise your own ideas taking tips in the course.
