Fantastic Music Platform with Outstanding AI and Support

We switched from Tunify. The possibilities with Soundtrack are significantly more extensive, and the track selection leaves nothing to be desired. Generating playlists with AI is excellent, and the quality of the AI-generated results is impressive. The user interface and functionality are also flawless. For customers in Germany, a German-language interface would be preferable, but that will likely come in the future. Another aspect worth mentioning is the support. I have rarely experienced anything better—friendly, precise, and incredibly fast! I can wholeheartedly recommend Soundtrack.

Get Spotify instead DO NOT RECOMMEND

The only way you can listen to decent music is if you transfer over a playlist from Spotify, and in that case why not just use Spotify which is clearly a superior streaming app. And even when you transfer over playlists all of the songs are not available on this app and it seems that they get switched out with similar songs and in many cases they are not appropriate for the vibe we're going for. It's very hard to find specific songs and even harder to queue songs etc. And to top it all of the app has not been working all day and our store has been without music for the entire day. To everyone who may be considering this app i would highly suggest to just get Spotify which is around the same price or any other streaming app for that matter.

Licensing and legality
While Spotify is a fantastic service for personal use, it is unfortunately not legal to use in a commercial setting like a store or restaurant. Personal streaming apps are only licensed for private, non-commercial use. Using them in your business can lead to copyright violations. Soundtrack is a fully licensed service specifically built for businesses, ensuring that artists and rightsholders are paid correctly for public performances.

Spotify playlist import
We offer the ability to import Spotify playlists because we want to make it easy for you to bring your favorite music with you. However, because our library is licensed for commercial use, there are times when certain songs are not available. In those cases, our system can find a similar alternative, but we also offer plans where songs are not replaced and only the available imported songs are added.

Another alternative is to explore our 2,000+ ready-made playlists. These are expertly curated by our music team specifically for different business environments and create a consistent and appropriate atmosphere.

Technical issues
We’re sorry that the app wasn’t working for you on Monday. We understand how frustrating that must have been. The issue was caused by an update of our third-party hosting service, which affected multiple platforms. You can always check status.soundtrack.io for the latest status updates.

Erg slecht, duizenden nummers? Leugens! De hele dag door dezelfde nummers, het is bijna tegen het martelen aan, meerdere malen geklaagd maar ze zeggen dat het niet mogelijk is en zetten andere lijst op die ook weer continu dezelfde gejank erop heeft, ik zou dit echt afraden als je niet geestelijk gemarteld wenst te worden tegen betaling

nice, but flawed

The music chugs along in the background. That's nice. But the app has some glaring flaws, and it was oversold to us.

Our business previously used Spotify. When we realized Spotify was illegal for commercial use, we moved to their commercial version, called Soundtrack.

We were told we could port our playlist over from Spotify. We were told we'd have all the features and functionality of Spotify, and then some. Well, yes... but also no. Quite a few songs just disappeared from our playlist. Turns out, there's a licensing issue we weren't told about. A number of features also disappeared

Then there's the search feature. I want to add new songs to our soundtrack. So I search. I type in some fairly well-known bands (i.e. "The Beatles"), the search brings back some dude named "Kevin." Literally. No Beatles when I search for the Beatles.

Don’t dare to make a mistake — they’ll charge you

We used Soundtrack for a little over two years in our restaurant. The song selection is decent and the integration into Sonos works well.

The big disappointment? By accident, trying to fix a Sonos bug, we created a new zone, but deleted it within minutes when we realised what we’d done, and never used it. Soundtrack insisted that we pay a full month’s service for those few minutes and customer care didn’t do a thing to help. A refund was “against their policies”.

The good news? In my frustration at having to pay €55 for something I never used, I found Soundsuit which we just switched to.

There’s always a silver lining!

Not enough control

We do not like that Soundtrackyour brand adds songs to an imported playlist and that sometimes it does not remove songs when dirwcted to do so

Service is reliable and of high quality

We appreciate the regular updates of the playlists, especially special compilations for Halloween or Christmas.

The Windows app should be improved: For example, the ability to sort the own playlists. The indication of the BPM would also be desirable.

Overall, their service is reliable and of high quality.

Zero customer service

Really poor service. There's no customer service except via email and they always copy/paste the "help" that's on their page. No calls possible.
I base the quality of a company on how they handle when something goes wrong. Soundtrack doesn't handle anything that goes wrong. You're completely on your own.
Had the service 6 months now and it went down 4 times. That's just not acceptable.
Oh and when you create your playlists, they have an algo that picks the songs instead of running through the whole playlist. So you may hear the same song 3 or 4 times in a span of a few hours even if your playlist is 12 hours long?!!? We asked them to switch the algo off and they said they can't. Super weird.
It's slim pickings out there for music services for businesses but they certainly are not the way to go.
