Kerri emailed the exact same message to me saying I misspelled maintenance on my site.
I actually emailed back to say thanks for the heads up. When that bounced back I figured I should check this out before clicking on any links. Glad I did now.

SPAM MIESTERS. Exactly same email to our new site, "openness" spelt wrongly.

At the time of a global pandemic , is it appropriate for to spam businesses with unsolicited underhand sales pitches....do you not think we have better things to do ?

I wish I could give 0 stars. It's a scammer spamming my blog with a message about a misspelled word on my website. Total sales pitch for their service. I didn't even go to their site, just came here to report it.

Message: "It looks like you’ve misspelled the word "susan" on your website. I thought you would like to know :). Silly mistakes can ruin your site’s credibility. I’ve used a tool called SpellScan.com in the past to keep mistakes off of my website.

Okay. So this is a company trying to get people to use its service by emulating a concerned user who has also used their service. This is a bit sly and it would be much much better if they were honest and upfront by letting people know they were trying to sell a commercial service vs pretending otherwise.
On the other hand they did spot a genuine typo and they found a few others for free - which I've now corrected. We would need to pay to find out more.
May consider their free trial at some stage.

Spamming scum making the world a slightly worse place. Do the world a favour and jump off a bridge.

SPAMSCAM.COM more like. Didn't even bother with their link.
The positive from this though, it did encourage me to tweak my site a bit :)

targeting a charity with snotty fake emails is disgusting, in order to try and sign you up to their website. The funniest thing, is there is a spelling mistake on their own website !

Spellscan is spam. Like others, Spellscan spammed our site

Spammed our site. Absolute rubbish. Didn’t even bother clicking on their site. Received the message: It looks like you've misspelled the word "Wati" on your website. Scumbags spamed my webpage with a bogus alert of a misspelled word that wasn’t there. Wasted my staffs time. I would not buy it if it were free. I’m sure there is a reputable version of the software out there somewhere. Probably not even needed as most browsers will do this for you while you’re doing the web design.
