The Square Off NEO was funded via Indiegogo in 2019. Then, in 2023, substantial shipping fees were demanded—and paid—once again. Subsequently, Miko acquired the company and offered me the Miko 3 robot as an alternative; otherwise, I would have had to continue waiting for delivery—a prospect I no longer found credible. As of today—March 2026, seven years later—I have received nothing but empty promises. I therefore wish to warn everyone against this company, MIKO.
I love the self-moving board! Once of the best investment I have made, and my chess kids love it. Watching a live game, while the pieces move freely, makes their day.
I never thought that I would be playing on a self-moving chess board in my life time. Great work!
Subject – 03-18-2025: Formal Complaint Regarding Unfulfilled Delivery of Swap Chess Board
Dear Atur Mehta, Bhavya Gohil, and the InfiVention Technologies & Miko.ai Team,
I am writing to formally express my extreme frustration and dissatisfaction with the ongoing lack of transparency, accountability, and proper communication from your organisation regarding my Square Off Neo Swap Chess Board.
For years, I have been subjected to repeated delays, vague promises, and a complete absence of a concrete delivery timeline. Once again, I have been informed that the product is still in the manufacturing phase, yet no clear schedule has been provided. Your standard response—"We’ll get back to you as soon as the product is back in stock"—is simply unacceptable, particularly given the excessive delays and lack of proactive updates from your customer support team.
Let me be absolutely clear: This is not how a professional company treats its customers. A purchase agreement is a two-way commitment. When I placed my order and made payment in good faith, I expected your organisation to honour its obligations and deliver the product within a reasonable timeframe. However, your repeated failure to do so, coupled with your evasive responses, indicates a serious lack of integrity and accountability.
Furthermore, it is completely unacceptable that other backers have received their products while I am still waiting. This raises serious concerns about how you prioritise customer orders and whether my order has been deliberately neglected.
My Final Request:
I demand a clear, immediate response with the following:
1. A firm and specific delivery date for my Swap Chess Board—no more vague responses.
2. A written guarantee that my product will be delivered without further delays or hidden charges.
3. Transparency on why my order has been delayed for so long while others have already received theirs.
If I do not receive a definitive resolution to this matter, I will have no choice but to escalate my complaint through multiple avenues:
• Public exposure of your broken commitments on social media, customer forums, and sales platforms.
• Direct complaints on Kickstarter and crowdfunding platforms where other backers have faced similar issues.
• Legal action against your organisation for failure to fulfil your contractual obligations.
• Mobilisation of affected customers to initiate collective action against your company.
At this moment, I am actively collecting documentation and customer testimonies to validate the necessary legal steps. This is your final opportunity to demonstrate that you value your backers and intend to fulfil your commitments.
I expect a serious and immediate resolution. No more excuses. No more delays. I will not tolerate further negligence.
I hope you take this matter with the urgency and professionalism it demands.

Would even deserve 0 star but was not available.
I supported their project in Feb 2022 for 'automated chess games' through the Indiegogo platform (as a backer amongst many other ones) and since then I never received anything, whereas they claimed 'a successful campaign' (of course with all these millions received !) and to have managed to build the products (which is less obvious).
These guys have received several millions of US dollars and we don't know what they did with it.
I exchanged hundreds of emails with them and their replies are pure bullshits with fake excuses, mainly about technical issues. They always promise the product will be finally delivered with fake delivery dates but this never happens.
Anyway, to summarize, just stay far away from them. Fortunately, I only lost 219 USD as it could have been worse if I had ordered for more chess games (and more recently 65 USD for extra shipping fees, as I thought the product would finally came but this was again PURE BULLSHIT).
If only I had read the previous comments here I would have wasted less time and energy in all these emails since Feb 2022 !
Miko, as the owner of SquareOff, shamelessly continues the old lies. After 5 years of testing my patience with endless promises, I have little hope of ever receiving a device. I advise everyone not to order anything from this dubious criminal company.

I wish I read this thread before purchasing as I came here to say I placed my order on 12 Dec, was promised Christmas delivery. It's 27 Dec and the board has not yet shipped.
I have realised from other reviews that this is normal. The company have said they have technical issues, they are replying promptly and not said to me that it won't ship. I really hope it does.
Otherwise it's money down the pan and my husband won't get his Christmas present.
Do not purchase until you see things turn around. I am so disappointed.

I ordered a board five years ago and I am still waiting. Six months ago, they said the order was missing shipping costs, and I was naïve enough to pay.
To whom it may concern at Infinivention/SquareOff/Miko Support, (maybe nowadays to GPT4 or another software who easily simulates humans)
on the 2nd of July in 2024 (almost 4 months ago!!), I expressed my disappointment, that the package with my customized SWAP lacked the necessary documents for Austrian customs.
Nobody at Square Off(?), Miko(?) was reachable per email for customs - so the package was returned back to you after waiting over 2 years for it.
On the 4th of September in 2024 (2 months later, after 15(!) meaningless postponing mails) I was finally assured, that "we have received the returned product and will proceed with the reshipping of your order. At present, we are experiencing a technical issue, and we will provide the next update by September 15th. ".
Sounds great - but there could have been no technical issue whatsoever, because THIS SWAP WAS NOT BROKEN, NOT EVEN USED A SINGLE TIME, SO THE RETURNED PRODUCT DOESN'T NEED REPAIR OR EXCHANGE!
Just ONE working person in the shipping department of the company, that pays the nameless call center, has to add a valid commercial invoice for customs and tax payments in EC Countries - and to send the package again to the same address. All in all a that would need no more time than one hour.
Of course not YOU personally - your task is only to push a button from time to time to send another useless template text to frustrated customers
I am quite sure you don't even know what companies Square Off, Miko or Infivention are or what a SWAP is - BTW it would have been be a great chess computer with self moving pieces, if I ever had received it.
Instead another 5 weeks passed and nothing changed at the status of the issue.
On the contrary, on October, the 9th in 2024 you wrote "This matter will require A FEW ADDITIONAL DAYS, and we will ensure to provide you with the next update by November 15th"
(WHICH IS OVER 5 WEEKS LATER AND NOT A FEW DAYS - that's proof that there is no thinking person responsible for copying and pasting this useless texts)
And on the 15th of November in 2024 or a few days earlier you will copy and paste another fantasy date in the postponing message template,
I think this time "after the holidays" would be fitting, so you don't need to care another two months until mid-January of 2025 - happy new year!
We all know, that I never will get the package again - it is long used for another more privileged customer, or lost or stolen or whatsoever, be it personalized or not.
I had my chance - after all, a few lucky European customers got their SWAP because their home country customs overlooked the wrong description or missing invoices.
All these 23 (!) lying mails so far, with the same content, although pieced together by a random number generator, mixing hollow advertisement phrases in a way that no exact repetition occurs.
First "we are committed", "assist you", "here for help", "don't hesitate", "feel free", "we are happy to", "rest assured", "our top priority", "supporting you", "we are pleased","have been escalated (forwarding)", "further review", "currently (actively) working", "at earliest", "prompt resolution", "highly valued", "we await feedback (update)", "evaluation", "appropriate (relevant) (internal) team", "addressing request"
But then "(currently facing) (due to) (persistent) (certain) (technical) issues", "require additional time" "a setback" and so on.
Or even better "(sincerest) apologies", "inconvenience", "hope for good health" "greatly appreciate", "ongoing support", "thank you for patience", "cooperation" "understanding", ... after MONTHS of waiting without explanation there is no possible cause for "understanding" anymore
This funny colorful deceiving "word cake" would be a reason to laugh in despair if the underlying complete negligence of facts wouldn't be so toxic for trustful customers.
Sometimes you really should read the mails you send, they may humor you in their ridiculously polished marketing language with their easy to spot wanna-be-psychological deescalating phrases.
And all that to avoid either simply sending ONE package - or else a honest answer like "Ha, you won't get it, don't pester us further, you can't ever really reach us, because we live in a state with different rules and laws".
Nevertheless I won't give up. I will now try to find a different communication channel to a person who knows more about the real situation, or better is directly responsible.
There is no pride working in the business of shielding law breaking companies from the rightful anger of defrauded people - you should really think about a different profession
It is not fair that the whole world outsources this dirty business to countries with bad living standards where people can't afford to be picky.

Das Unternehmen hat über Indigogo eine Finanzierungskampagne gestartet und die versprochenen Belohnungen nicht geliefert. Hier wurden viele Interessenten um ihren Beitrag betrogen. Vertrauen sie diesem Unternehmen nicht!
I have not received part of my order since Nov 24, 2022. Don't buy from them.
I've ordered on the 2 June 2024, I've heard nothing and I had no real response on emails The tracking number doesn't work and of course I have not received the actual product. I actually wanted to request a refund so that's never happening!
I'm not the one to fall for scams but I guess they did their job quite well on that aspect

Ordered Square Off Pro. Delivered a week after the date I got from them to Sweden.
I was in contact with them regarding tracking of my package, didn´t receive a tracking link.
The product works fine.
After waiting 2 years to arrive I played one game before the chessboard stopped working.
I tried getting a refound or a new chessboard for over 5 months. But the support is TERRIBLE.
The best I can do now is help others not get into this scam of a a company.
Feels like some money fraud. Bought chess case and never received it neither money back.
