Straus Home Ranch is one of the most beautiful places in Northern California. But what sets it apart are the Strauses themselves. Michael and Vivien were a joy to work with in the planning, imagining and execution of my son and his bride's wedding. They were responsive, friendly, full of ideas, willing to go out of their way to help in any way possible. The site of the ceremony atop the hill, overlooking Tomales Bay, was magical. You didn't think it could get any better. Until you entered the barn, which manages to be both intimate and spacious at the same time. Their professional catering kitchen is on a separate level and behind a curtain, so one can dance with abandon without running into the chef and servers. We had a welcome party the night before on the lawn in front of the gorgeous refurbished farmhouse - which actually housed about half of the wedding party - and throughout the weekend, Michael helped us with all the many tools they offer to create a perfect event - a bar, heaters, benches, twinkling lights, a blazing firepit, boxes of vases and votives, blankets, a wedding arch, and on and on. They are set up to give you the most memorable, gorgeous wedding you've ever envisioned. And they do. And, best of all, there is not a moment of stress with them - they are fun and funny and cheerful as can be. You will want to think of excuses just to go back to Straus Home Ranch and hang out with them. Honestly, I am still buzzing with the joy they created with their amazing venue and energy and warmth. I will never forget the weekend. Or them. Do not consider anywhere else for your special event.
