A NOT SO GOOD TIME ON THE TRAIL!
I have been trying to return a pair of Stride Trail sandals. I Can't get anyone at Stride Trail to send a return authorization number. They keep saying we are sorry you don't like the shoes, please send a photo of what is wrong. The shoes were supposedly the right size but I couldn't squeeze them on my feet with out doubling up my toes, and they were way too narrow as well. They are very poorly built with thinly attached straps and very poor stitching. The insoles are about 1/8th of an inch thick or less and are made from an extremely thin light duty sponge material, that provided zero support. Definitely not made for any type of walking, let alone on a ruff trail. They are basically the lowest quality shoe or sandal I have tried on, not the 90 some dollar sandal they were suppose to be before the discount. Rating these “dollar store quality” in my estimation is a rating higher than they deserve.
Since the only means of communication with Stride Trail is through email, and you need to get a return authorization number from them before returning their shoes you are basically at their mercy to ever return any thing no matter what the problem may be. They have no phone number listed on their website nor will they give you one to use to communicate with them, nor will they call you back even if you send them your phone number via email.
They are listed as being on the same street as a very popular Sporting Goods store, Blvd NE in Albuquerque, A NEIGHBORING BUSINESS in New Mexico, but I could find no one at that Sporting Goods store, on that street that acknowledged knowing, that Stride Trail even existed.
The moral of the story is: if you want a decent, durable, comfortable shoe or sandal, go to a store that sells them off of their shelf. Try them on, walk in them, make sure they are comfortable and durable and that they will carry you where you want to go. Don't get tripped up buying a pair of shoes or any product from a business, unless that business has a record of great customer service, that lives up to your expectations, this one certainly does not live up to mine.
