Extremely disappointed with Service and Communication

I had high expectations when choosing Suncoast Audio for my recent purchase, but my experience has been extremely frustrating, and I feel completely let down by their service and communication.

I placed an order for a product that was supposedly "in stock and ready to ship." As someone who was hoping to receive the item before Christmas, I made this clear when placing my order. Based on this assurance, I canceled an order with a competitor, Bloom Audio, as I was led to believe I’d get my product in time for the holidays.

However, after I made the purchase, I was informed that the shipping timeline was uncertain. I wasn’t told about potential delays until after completing my order. The 3-5 business day processing period was not disclosed at checkout, which meant I was left in the dark about when to expect my item. This lack of transparency and proper communication is completely unacceptable for a company that prides itself on customer service.

I attempted to follow up multiple times, including an email explaining my urgency and frustration, but I received no response. The lack of updates and proper communication has added significant frustration to an already stressful situation.

I also feel trapped due to the 15% restocking fee. Although I wasn’t initially considering cancellation, the lack of timely updates made me feel like I had no option but to reconsider my order. However, after waiting for several days, I decided to proceed with the order, but the lack of clarity still leaves me feeling uneasy.

At this point, all I am asking for is clear communication and timely updates regarding my order. I chose Suncoast Audio for its reputation, but based on my experience, I would hesitate to recommend them to others. The service I’ve received so far is not up to the standard I expected.

Summary:

-Product was "in stock" but delayed due to lack of communication.

-I was misled into canceling a competitor order based on inaccurate shipping information.

-No updates or responses to inquiries made after purchase.

-Restocking fee policy left me feeling trapped and unsure of next steps.

I hope my experience can help others make a more informed decision. Suncoast Audio still has time to prove me wrong, but as of now, I’m extremely dissatisfied.

I worked with Mike the owner at…

I worked with Mike the owner at Suncoast Audio on a few recent purchases. Mike was very knowledgeable and provided great advise for my system. He took the time to walk me through a few good options and we ultimately settled on two products - DAC and a new preamp. Very happy with my service. Definitely going back to Suncoast Audio for new cables.

Bad communication throughout…

Bad communication throughout transaction. The owner thinks he's pretty sharp promised things that never happened. Audiogon ad stated manual included manual never came with unit. He blamed Audiogon for the mistake, but he placed the ad. I would never do business with Suncoast Audio or playitagainaudio. The only good that came out of it is the Esoteric K1 a great player. It as found a home in my second system for sure.

No service help. Bought a high end Naim player which…

Bought a high end Naim player which works great.
After 3 years I needed help and support. What a joke on how "we have nobody to trouble shoot" nor did i get a promised call back. If you buy there you will be fending for yourself when something stops working.

Unnbelievable customer service!

Ordered a turntable from Suncoast Audio last month and they were beyond accommodating to all of my needs.

I gave them a call and requested information about a few different brands that they carry. They recommended a table and cartridge within my price-range, and I placed the order.

They first had the turntable shipped directly to their shop in Florida and set the table up professionally, prior to shipping it out to me.

I could not believe how great it sounded, right out of the box with very minimal setup.

This shop has, arguably, the best customer service in the hifi industry right now. They are super friendly on the phone, and don't push you to upgrade... in fact, in my case, they talked me down to a lower-priced model than what I was looking at because it fit my system and requirements better.

Every other shop I called attempted to sell me on higher-priced gear and didn't seem to be knowledgeable about the products they carry... typical sales guys.

I can't say enough good about Suncoast Audio. This shop is a gem in the world of hifi, and I hope they stay around forever. They now have another customer for life!
