Small baskets on wheels!

Can you please get some of the small baskets on wheels in the Kells store!!! Every other supermarket has them and it’s impossible to push a buggy and carry those ridiculous baskets cutting the fingers off you! SuperValu Kells needs to get with the times! If you want customers to use the baskets supplied as the announcement says, try making it possible for parents with buggy’s to be able to get their items!!!

Incompetence at Supervalu

I placed an order with SuperValu on 27 February. While most items were delivered, one item—laundry detergent—was never received. At the time, there were known issues with processing Mastercard payments.

Since then, I’ve been blocked from placing any new orders due to an “outstanding balance” of €58.43. The problem? That balance includes the laundry detergent that was never delivered.

Despite explaining this multiple times, the issue still hasn’t been resolved. It’s incredibly frustrating to deal with a company that cannot properly acknowledge or fix such a straightforward problem.

As a result, I’ve taken my business elsewhere (Dunnes) and will not be returning. I’ll also be sharing my experience across platforms so others are aware.

Very disappointing overall. Deserves lower than 1 star.

Long time shopper with Supervalu in…

Long time shopper with Supervalu in Castletroy in Limerick. The store always looks well, easy to navigate, signs and prices clearly visible and there is always plenty of staff on hand to help out. However, recently I have had the misfortune to end up in hospital. I had a delivery booked for the following morning. I phoned the store and it was no problem to put it off until the following day. (I'm sure they had my large order picked and everything at this stage as it was an early morning delivery) nonetheless it was no problem at all for them. They were very understanding.

Unfortunately for me, I ended up in hospital again that night. When I phoned the store the following morning they couldn't have been more understanding and empathetic. It was a week later before I was able to phone them back to reorganise my delivery. It was no hassle at all for them. They remembered me and my situation. Even though I was embarrassed with all the messing around I had created, they were very understanding. Kevin was one of the people I spoke with. A very sound man!

Ordered online

Ordered online. Incorrect items delivered- smaller sizes bit charged for the larger versions. I have tried to get a refund for those items- told it is up to the individual store to refund and they would be in contact that was 6 days ago and 2 complaints lodged- still no word from the store.

SuperValu real rewards vouchers are…

SuperValu real rewards vouchers are terrible. I’ll be shopping in Dunnes from now on, €10 off €50 and €5 off €25 given when paying at the till. SuperValu sends rewards on the app but they’re never consistent €11 off €80 which I would never use…I now only shop very little in SuperValu. I was told by the lady on the till to contact customer service and they would send me better money off vouchers but the customer service agent I spoke to was so rude and I never got the new vouchers. Terrible service.

Supervalu Killester.

Supervalu Killester.
I'm second generation shopping at SuperValu Killester.
Great staff at bakery, meat, fish counters.
The longer serving people at check out are always courteous.
In the shop..........
Prices are not clearly marked. There's price stickers placed over stickers with nothing clear.
You'd need a mathematic mind and lotsa time to work out the prices.

I picked up a meal deal.
Total confusion on the price at checkout.
The young assistant preferred to talk to other staff while I stood there waiting to pay.
She knew it all..... except the price of the meal deal.
Take it or leave it.........
As a customer I was not treated well.
A young male manager arrived to check out the price of the meal deal and pointed at a price that had absolutely no relevance.
I was made to feel stupid, irrelevant and of no value as a customer.
I'm sure this young man had certificates in retail.
Feral Quinn treated his customers royally. With great regard.
Supervalu Killester is NO longer customer friendly. It was known at one stage for friendly professional service.
Very sad,very disappointing after years of good service.
Heading to Nolan's.

supervalu is much like bus eireann used to be in that they managed to get all the people who work there to be ill mannered, unhelpful and disrespectful.

I have shopped several outlets and the standard of food is atrocious. I have had to return items many, many times and the disrespect I was shown right across the board was unreal! How the hell can they all be so similar. Do they train them all in one room or what.
If that was not bad enough I went into the butchers counter last week (the only butchers left) and asked for steaks to be cut. After he cut the steaks he brought them the the butchers block and before scraping them he picked his nose with the same hand he was using the scraper with. FROM HIS NOSE RIGHT TO THE SCRAPER. I walked out and I will never go in there again.
I see they have this big drive to try and get customers back into their stores by supposedly reducing prices. The same prices they increased time and time again when COVID hit. The first to do so in Ireland.

Very poor experience with staff…

Very poor experience with staff members. Supervisory staff in the Tramore store were hostile and sarcastic in equal measures. I shared my concerns with the customer service team. Their response was completely unacceptable. After two months of waiting for a suitable service recovery response none was forthcoming.

My experience in Blackrock

My experience in Blackrock, Dublin extends over a long period of time. Overall, I would say thst Supervalu in Blackrock is my last choice for shopping after MandS and Aldi and Dunnes Storesnon Newtownpark ave. From entering the shop, the bakery is nort a pleasant smell. Supervalus own brand products, with the odd exception, are of a low to average quality in terms of taste. The prices are not very competitive. In conclusion, the atore is drsb and unwelcoming.

SuperValu Knocklyon is terrible for…

SuperValu Knocklyon is terrible for customer service- I have had two bad customer service experiences here physical and online shopping. The online shopping experience is still pending refund of €20 since 22nd of December 2025. The staff Michelle was unpleasant to me when she spoke to me on the phone. I have escalated the matter and management is unresponsive. I suspect racism is also an issue at this branch and I need confirmation from other “non-white, Irish” customers even foreign staff to share their experience.

Overpriced rubbish

When to SuperValue in Lucan and bought an "apple tart" for 6.50 euro.How they can sell this possessed rubbish is beyond me, either people in Ireland don't know what a real apple pie tastes like or they just put up with this crap, avoid this overpriced shop .

Yet again return bottle bank full. The only thing you can rely on to be consistent with this shop. Well if I have to take my recycle bottles elsewhere, guess what… my custom goes elsewhere. And staff really don’t care when you let them know of the bin status.

My local SuperValu is handy

My local SuperValu is handy, that’s about the best I can say for it. The product selection is decent but the prices are generally outrageous and for very ordinary produce.

We all miss SuperQuinn, it’s wasn’t cheap but it was leaps and bounds ahead of SuperValu in every possible way.

Customer review and complaint

I shop in Supervalu nearly every day. I have a rewards card. I saved up all my half price turkey tokens for weeks, I reached the quota on Thusday, I went in to get one on Friday, last Friday, THEY WERE ALL GONE! I see in the app now that from the 21st of December that you can collect tokens AGAIN for a half price turkey. What is the point, I wasn't told there would be more. For all the times I go in there and give them custom, I haven't seen any turkeys! I got one after in Aldi. Why I am complaining is due to principle, Supervalu doesn't value their customers. They treat us like the proverbial. The sooner Lidl come to town, the better.

Service at Sutton Cross

Service at Sutton Cross, Dublin.
After going through Xmas brochure I decided to place an order in the shop.
They have a dedicated desk for this and I went to place an order for a Prime Fillet Barrel to be told they could not take the order as it needed to be ordered at the butcher counter. So off to the butcher counter where I met Leroy who said it needed to be ordered at the desk? I explained what had happened and he was brilliant, took my order and arranged for me to collect it on Monday. This is how customer service should be done. Well done Leroy.

Over 4 hours waiting for shopping and…

Over 4 hours waiting for shopping and their closed now so our food shopping didnt come and trying to ring last 20 mins over and over before closing but no answer ? no food or kids lunch or firing to keep us warm this is obviously a bad customer experience and as a business owner this is also bad for business i will go further without an appropriate response. "SHOCKING" unprofessional and non acceptable, very hungry. so what now next day delivery or worse.
