I had a decent experience with Surge Bikes when purchasing my first e-bike. Communication was solid, and Matt was helpful in answering queries and offering advice. The delivery was prompt, and the bike arrived in good condition. While the service was good overall, I wish the store was closer for maintenance.

No wonder Surge are going out of business - first off there was a loose screw floating around in the box when I unpacked my new Tern HSD P10. I took the bike to my local bike store a Tern dealer who I have used for over 25 years and they told me it was a crucial part which holds the wheel in place. They fixed this and checked the screw on the other side. Because of this I thought I better get a full service in case anything else was loose. My local store were the bike was being serviced then rang me to let me know the rear tyre was deformed in two places and rubbing on the chain, frame and mudguard. I spoke to Matt Cooke at Surge who completely deigned the bike left his workshop in that condition and implied I was lying about the loose screw in the box and that the bike store I was using was mistaken. He said Surge thoroughly check and road test all bikes they sell. Which I didn't believe as I had to pump the tyres up before riding it as they were so low and the new bike service check list that came with the bike was not completed. Matt did not offer any sort of apology and treated me as if I did not matter. In my experience once they have your money there is zero customer care. Unfortunately, not a company I would recommend or trust.

With severe COPD and heart failure I had doubts as to whether the Tern QuickHaul P9 would give me the mobility I lacked having been housebound for the last year. It has exceeded my expectations, making it almost effortless to carry heavy shopping whilst wearing winter clothing I could hardly stand up and walk in. I am genuinely amazed at the ease of transport this provides and am looking forward to travelling just for the 'joy of the open road' (with apologies to Mr. Toad and Kenneth Graham).

I bought my 1st e mtn bike from surge after 25 years of normal mtn biking so had a lot of questions and they are extremely knowledgeable and have found me a bike the perfectly fits my requirements

My second big purchase from Surge Bikes, having bought a GSD over a year ago I recently got an Orox R14 and I had the same great support from Matt. From start to finish there was great communication and they were happy to swap out an accessory I’d accidentally ordered. They have a great selection of accessories and their offer to include a lot with the bike is something not all bike shops offer. I just wish they were closer to me so I could go there for maintenance. Thanks

A really great electric bike shop with fantastic staff who really care about their customers. Matt and the team were super helpful when speccing our new cargo bike and were happy to field our (many) questions. They kept in touch regularly to keep us updated on delivery dates and took time to go through all of the features after dropping it off.

They have also serviced our previous electric cargo bike many times and I would definitely recommend them for this service too.

All round a great shop with a top team to help.

Very helpful when choosing my new electric bike.

I was after an e-bike and went to Surge bikes as they have a wonderful range of options. I am quite short (under 5 foot) and have not ridden an e-bike before and they gave me lots of advice and some great options for me to try. I decided on one of them and wanted some accessories and really benefited from their expertise and guidance on these too. All staff very friendly and knowledgeable and they delivered the bike to me too. Great experience all round. Highly recommend them. The bike is perfect for me and am loving riding it!

We wanted a capable and low maintenance bike that would fit in the car.

The Traveler hits the spot with the powerful motor, relatively large capacity battery and Enviolo 380% ratio CVT hub gears with belt drive. The package is completed with quality tyres; a strong rear rack and integrated lighting powered off the main battery.

Matt answered all my questions and the bike arrived well packed, well adjusted for immediate use and with his recommended puncture protection already installed.

Highly recommend both Surge and their first own brand bike.
