This is the absolute worst company ever. I have a Home Depot card which had $5,000.00 credit limit within 8 months of making my first purchase lawn and gardens equipment totaled around $1,100.00 this sorry company dropped my credit limit to $1,200.00. When I called the bank they tell me the reason they lowered my credit limit is because I have too much credit. I have never been late and always paid over my monthly payments. That move synchrony made by lowering my credit limit caused my credit score to drop. I wish there was something you could do to them. This company purposely damages people credit and there is nothing you can do about it. STAY away from this company

"Your call is very important to us..." REALLY?
I wanted to speak to an agent to allocate a payment for Care Credit. I decided to hold b/c I call when it's convenient for me; I'm not interested in waiting around until someone decides to call me back. I gave it 20 minutes. It's bad enough being on hold w/o that foolish recording, every 20 seconds, telling me that my call is very important to them--uh, no, if it were, more people would be answering the phones. I really dislike this bank. I also have a Lowes account that b/c I have a promotion I'm paying off (before interest) I use another credit card when I make purchases there & I make a lot; makes me happy not to use Synchrony.

THEY ARE THE WORST BANK ! I HAD BEEEN A GREAT CUSTOMER, NEVER EVER PAID ANY OF THE CARDS I HAD WITH THEM LATE, HOWEVER THEY KEEP LOWERING MY CREDIT LIMIT FOR NO REASON AT ALL. THEY PULL MY CREDIT REPORT SO OFTEN IT SHOULD BE ILLEGAL THAT THEY ARE ALLOWED TO KEEP DOING SOFT PULLS NON STOP. I AM GETTING RID OF ALL THE CARDS I HAD THROUGH THEM. THEY ARE INSANELY DISGUSTING. HOPE THE FDCA DOES SOMEHING ABOUT IT ALREADY.THEY ARE GROSS. DO NOT EVER GET ANY CARD TO ANY STORE THROUGH THEM. I have never missed a payment or had a late payment. I have 6 accounts through synchrony and they keep cutting my credit lines to my current balance. This is destroying my credit score. Prior to synchrony, I had an 800+ score. With these crooks constantly putting my DTI to 100%, I'm at 580. My score is so low, that I can't even open other credit lines to balance transfer and get my score back up. Ironically, the use my lowered score, and high balances/available balance that they have created, as the reason to cut the lines again. This is a ridiculous cycle that I wouldn't wish on anyone. I run a business and am very reliant, and responsible with my credit lines. I'm not sure how to escape the bs they continue to do to my credit.

Synchrony Bank shut down our business fuel credit card (Sam's club MC). We had recently moved and called to verify our address. After speaking with several representatives earlier this year we were told all is 'good'. Fast forward a couple of months and they shut off our credit card to review the address. They shut it down late on a Friday before a very busy weekend! This is wrong on so many levels. We operate 24 hours a day 7 days a week. No courtesy phone call or alert heads up. Just shut down the credit card! Unfortunately, we use Sam's Club for fuel, and the issuing bank is Synchrony. YUK!

Closed my account and they couldn’t explain why. Account was never delinquent and no missed payments. Had been with them over 15 years. Was able to get a new credit with a different Bank with better customer service and benefits. In the end they did me a favor.
Evil company
Evil company. They closed my account with no warning, even though it's paid in full. One listed reason is that I lack a current mortgage. So I'm not in enough debt for their liking? Customer "service" is cold and callous. This company needs to be shut down and investigated. They're just ruining people's credit scores for no good reason.
No bank disbursements a month after my father’s death certificate sent!
My father has many CD accounts with synchronybank. He also has his retirement accounts with them that require minimum distributions. His last distribution took two months do be delivered. He spoke with a different person each time, each giving him some story. He finally received his distributions on his death bed. Now we are trying to have the CDs forwarded to the beneficiaries. It took them 13 days to acknowledge my brother’s requests. It took them 10 days to “verify the death certificate.” A death certificate is a legal document all by itself with a governmental seal. Why did they need to verify it! His life insurance companies had no trouble sending the money to us. Now the bank states they need to verify all the CDs have listed beneficiaries and that will take 5 days. Mind you, my dad has 12 for his great grandchildren, and 8 for his grandchildren. Seriously though, how long does it take to pull up a document on a computer and see beneficiaries, their social security numbers, and their mailing addresses. Say 10 minutes a kid, that is less than a day! If they send the money like they sent his retirement distribution, God only knows how long this will be. After seeing the trouble they have had with the Better Business Bureau, I think a call to the Banking Commission is in order. If you want your money back, don’t use Synchrony Bank

I paid of my account several months ago and now they decide to close my account. The reasons given were ridiculous, I took money out of my 401K and paid off ALL of my debts but they say my credit usage was too high. Also that my 707 credit score from 10 months ago was too low and even if it was an older score, it wouldn't have had time to change that much. The service I got was not very professional and several times it was hard to contact a representative.

This institution should disappear,they raises APR’s on credit card accounts without any advice,close accounts in good standing and show their greed all around,have six accounts with them,they lowered the line of credit dramatically on one and close another one in good standing,as a big company,they think they can do wathever they want,well,today I close three of the accounts and will close the other three really soon,there are other financial institutions and they will do much better,no one is indispensable,even companies,do yourself a favor and stay away of them,we deserve to do business with ethical and committed institutions!

PayPal Credit issued and Managed through Synchrony Bank is the worse Customer Service experience I have ever had with a Credit Card / Bank. Payments to my account were not processed correctly because of an error with PayPay and Synchrony's sub-par Customer Service. They do not communicate with each other and operate on different standards. Buyer beware "Do Not Get a Synchrony Credit Card Account" you will get burned! They care nothing about Good Common Sense Customer Service!

Synchrony Bank ruins yor credit. They use credit chasing tactics. I've had them for years made every payment on time my credit score is higher than when I opened my accounts. I made large payment.to them and paid off other creditors to get out of debt. Now SYNCHRONY LOWERS MY CREDIT LIMITS TO MATCH MY BALANCES creating higher credit usage therefore ruining my progress and lowering my credit scores. This bank is a fraud and we need to start a class action suit for thier poor practices. Im tired of them and strongly suggest do not apply for any type of credit with them. Never late never missed a payment in the 10 years I've had them.

I am a business owner with an extremely business life business busy life like most people. I pay my bills every month like clockwork. Occasionally because I'm a one-man show, things get missed we change accounts Etc, but they always got paid within 30 days. Never had a 30 day late. They canceled my card. One of those belittling and ridiculous experiences of my life. Do not give these horses asses your business. I thought a review might help but I can see from the reviews on here they don't care about customer service and this might be the lowest score I've ever seen for any business on here. Don't give him your business. I am boycotting Amazon after this. Truth isn't it the same stuff on teen move for less. Just have to plan a little ahead. There's too much competition out there for them to be treating people like this.

I have 4 accounts with synchrony bank 2 are now closed by them for credit issues through the reporting agencies and they lowered my credit twice on 1 card for the same reasons. I have made all my payments on time with NO late payments. It hurts your credit when the account is just closed without warning. Its ridiculous they dont try to work with you first. No contact at all!! Never again will I do business with them
