Tangerine is absolutely rubbish

Tangerine is absolutely rubbish. It cuts in and out constantly, whilst charging top dollar 1/10 for quality, 1/10 for service.

Do not use under any circumstance. You will be sorry if you do. STAY AWAY and KEEP CLEAR!!

The worst

The worst! We automatically got transferred from buddy telco and they are just the worst. Can’t get hold of them and so hard to actually speak to someone and all my open cases are just getting closed.

Six weeks waiting and still no NBN…

Six weeks waiting and still no NBN connection. Three days booked with no-shows, multiple phone calls and multiple 'open cases' on the website. Still no luck. No supports, i.e. to set up with temporary internet via a dongle, nor support payment of mobile internet that has been used instead. Go with a provider that can get NBN installed.

Scam, Absolute Rubbish service

have just joined yesterday and not having a good experience with them already. when I sign up I chose roll over from other service asap, they don't have any activation team member working weekend, yet they requested my other service to roll over, therefore they cancelled my service and here I am stuck with no internet for the weekend because their team don't work weekend. Perhaps they shouldnt have requested for the roll over and left me with no internet if they do not have a team that can transfer my service over. Superloop transferred my service before within minutes, only had like 5-10 mins downtime. *edit I have to come back to edit this since Tangerine is so horrible. within 1 month of new service, my internet was down, so i create an open case in self care portal as guided. 24hrs later still no internet, so created another case, and next day still no response and no internet so I decided to switch back to Superloop and was up and running within 10 minutes (great connection speed here). Couple day later I was sent an invoice for the month from Tangerine, I signed up on 8/2/26, switch to Superloop on 9/03/26, ok 1 day lapse fair enough I will pay for the month March, no biggies. Then come April 10 still got another invoice, so called them up to ask why, they told me since my service was disconnected and I did not request for billing to stop, it would still continue, after a little arguing back and forward, I was told since it pass the 9/4/26 I wont get a refund for april invoice either since they dont do partial refund for unused time of the month. How the fk does it work like that???? service disconnect but billing is not until request for cancel?? fkn scam DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE * they did call me back about the connection issue case i opened 1 month after I open that case. horrible service and scam

You cannot trust Tangerine Internet.

Some of the worst Customer Service I have experienced with any ISP. I signed up with them after checking their site and confirming I could get 400Mbps internet. When it went live I could only get sub 100Mbps speed, sent them many support requests which they ignored, finally after threatening to contact the TIO they called me, explained the issue to them they tried to blame everything from the cables to my router, everything but them.

When I signed up I was offered a free Router asked when that would arrive, will see if it made a difference. Router arrived still no difference, again sent numerous support requests still no answer.

Long story short, they then tried to charge me for the Free router saying it was only on loan, informed me that I could not get 400Mbps at my address even though their system said I could and that they charged me for it, a breach under the ACL.

They advertise themselves as great customer service, an absolute lie, they charge you for a service you can't get then say they will compensate you by giving you the router they loaned you as compensation, when it was already free when you signed up.

Avoid them and go to a company that does provide service and the actual speed you pay for.

Horrible customer service.

Horrible customer service. Me and my family moved houses more than a month ago and immediately called Tangerine to transfer our internet to our new address. The company said they’ll send someone to set up the internet but the person showed up on Monday morning with absolutely no notice when no one was home. We tried to call again but they kept on postponing and giving out fake promises.

Fast forward a month later, I almost failed my assignment because I’ve used a lot of my mobile data, and yet no internet. We called Tangerine again and they have set the date and time their professional would come to our house to set everything up. 9th of April 8am-12pm. We have cancelled all of our plans and have waited up until 12:30pm but no one showed up. My family member called them again and the company said no one is coming. It’s been more than a month and none of my family members can enjoy TV or a speaker as it needs internet connection.

Overall, I don’t recommend such provider. Very disappointed.

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service, setup wasn't working after spending (not exaggerating!) 20+h with 'IT' people (who literally read from a handbook and don't know what's actually needed to be done) trying to set it up. After 4 satellite being sent to South Australia instead of Victoria, where I actually live, I gave up and have been fighting for a partial refund of the services that were not provided.

Absolutely useless customer service…

Absolutely useless customer service been with this lot for a few years,sent the nbn to my place 9 times over a month and still no resolution.NBN are not at fault it’s the tangerine circus and absolutely useless pr*cks that run the show.It’s been resolved now it’s a tangerine problem not NBN.Can’t wait for my new provider

Avoid Tangerine due to its unreliability and subpar customer service. The internet connection frequently drops, with disruptions happening multiple times daily. Customer support appears indifferent, likely overwhelmed and undercompensated. I would score them 0 if I could.

I was a Buddy Telecom FTTP 1000/100…

I was a Buddy Telecom FTTP 1000/100 customer who was migrated on 01/04/26. Since then, I have not had internet until 07/04/26. Yesterday 06/04/26 , I applied for Spintel and got the internet at 5pm on 07/04/26. Support in tangerine is useless.

Avoid

Avoid, poor customer service (only been with them for 3 months and already cancelled) spent the last 13 days without WiFi and a real lack of understanding or willingness to help sort it out. Found it hard to communicate at times as the contact centre is based in Manila and agents aren’t that clearly. Now moving too Aussie broadband so fingers crossed for a better service.

Have tried to log onto my self care…

Have tried to log onto my self care portal using the verifying code on my mobile. Surprisingly keep saying the code is incorrect although I have checked several times before I entered. Called customer service who has unblocked the account, but I cannot access till another 4-5 hours later. Apparently the code sent from system does not sync properly so better stay away from trying again. Very annoying about the slow motion.

Went from Buddy telco to Tangerine with…

Went from Buddy telco to Tangerine with the merger and I had no internet since. Absolute rubbish company. I was with them two years ago and I left because I had no internet and now again the same crap. I dont know how they are still in business.

No internet (and no update from Tangerine) for days

Our internet has been down for days now. We have heard nothing from Tangerine and the case that we opened with support hasn’t progressed at all. I understand that issues can happen; what I care about is how they are handled. Tangerine does not seem to care about this. Support is not proactive at all (except for here, where they reply to every review promptly). Working from home is impossible, we have had to make alternate arrangements and we have no idea how long this will continue.

I will update this review once this issue is resolved with details on how everything plays out. If Tangerine continues to do nothing, that will involve moving to a different ISP.

Update: After continued silence from Tangerine, I called them for an update. They said they had checked with NBN and everything seemed to be working. Shame they didn’t check that with me, because it wasn’t. They said they would look into it again. I said I wanted an update the next day, and they said they would call. They didn’t. I cancelled the service, signed up to Superloop and within an hour of joining them was connected to the internet again. Never going back to Tangerine.

I also seemed to be wrong about them promptly replying to reviews here. They haven't done so after being inundated with negative ratings.

Would rate lower if possible

Would rate lower if possible. Customer service and technicians are not sure how to resolve issues, was told to put in new development application multiple times when a missing address request was all that was need as confirmed by the NBNco when they rejected the application. After waiting months to get the internet installed as was told I could not get the Fibre I paid for I just had to make do with FTTN. Thinking I at least had internet now I was relieved, only to find that I still did not have any service, and my ticket has been ignored and I'm still waiting days later. Just avoid the headache IMHO.

Many years a loyal customer ruined by terrible support!

I've been with Tangerine for years and the actual NBN service/speed/internet itself has been fine (most of the time), living up to expected speeds and very few drops/issues. Based on that alone, this would be 5 stars!

BUT, the moment something does go wrong and you have to use their tech support via online portal or phone call, it becomes the most painful experience I've ever been through trying to get a fix.

Right now 4 days with no internet.

Logged two support calls online, neither have even been looked at yet. Also tried calling, waited over 30mins but couldn't get through to anyone, now even tried lodging an official complaint too, just to see if that jerks someone into action!

Will probably move to another provider after this, as can't be dealing with multiple days offline, with no action being taken when I mainly work from home.

Buddy customer left without internet

Was supposed to be migrated to Tangerine as a Buddy customer, we have been without internet for a day and half and are being blocked from transitioning to a new ISP. Apparently a big stuff up and some customer got transitioned and accounts created and others like me are in no man's land. My new provider has escalated but we are at the mercy of these clowns. Despite messages and promises of callbacks no one has been in touch. Messages yesterday " we can not check anything because our tool is down" Did not offer any compensation for a 4G service which they provide. In todays day and age to not be able to get basics right is a massive failure. I would estimate most Buddy customers would have transitioned out today or at least tried to.Do yourself a favour go elsewhere.

Update - Just called the number that was advised in your response and they are saying they are not the right team. The catalogue of errors continues another sign to stay away.

First impressions are awful DO NOT USE

I was a Buddy Telecom FTTP 1000/100 customer who was migrated over last night to Tangerine after the sale. I've had no internet since 10:20pm last night. Wasted over an hour to their offshore call center this morning who kept telling me everything looked fine at their end and repeatedly telling me to power cycle my router and NBN modem (seriously?). Called again this afternoon to be told there is a known issue with Buddy Telecom customers and to await an update in 24/48 hours. WELCOME TO TANGERINE? No thanks, I'm off to another ISP.

EDIT: I'm back online now, but that was a terrible changeover.
