Don't bother with this company.
I originally purchased laptop from here with intent of having regular check up carried out. This year device broke down. I was told circuit board melted, by that stage I has paid €70 to be told nothing could be done. It was sent to Galway. 6 weeks later it was returned.I paid another few hundred for that privilege. In Galway device password changed so now locked out completely. I have not gone back since as felt foolish and made little of. Staff there know nothing and charge for everything. I now have a useless device the whole experience awful and traumatic.

Very bad experience. Left laptop with probably water damage, charged 65 eu for inspection, couldn't sort it in Limerick branch, sent to Galway branch, got a call, could you send us laptop charger. Two weeks time couldn't sort it. Local man working from home, repaired in two days, motherboard was dead. Avoid them

Terrible experience. Took my device in, and they promised a diagnosis within a week. Instead, it dragged on for months with zero follow-ups—I had to call them every time for an update.
Paid for a more “detailed checkup,” but they never clearly explained what was wrong. After the repair, they returned the device with a new issue, forcing me to bring it back again. More delays, new issues and still no proper communication.
At one point, they even sent me to pick it up, only for staff to say they couldn’t find it—wasting even more time. No accountability, no apologies. Completely unprofessional.
Absolutely disrespectful, I work, long shifts, real tired afterwards, I mentioned this. multiple times had to visit and ask them what was going on, they count you for nothing. I didn't have time for this clownery.
Save yourself the stress and go elsewhere.

I came here with my computer that I tried to assemble myself but couldn't get the fans to work. I am not a certified technician. I came over, dropped it off and they said it should be ready later today. I call them that evening to try find out, if it's ready for collection and they say something along of the lines "we're busy but our technician has took a look at it but will not be able to complete the job today". I understand sometimes it can get busy so I was okay with this. I rang the next day, knowing that surely it is ready today for collection. I was wrong, no updates from them whatsoever and trying to call them took multiple attempts. Now this time, I was told 100% it will be ready to collect tomorrow and I was okay with this. Although the fix was only a 5 minute job. I get an email the next day and they are asking to ship it to Galway and it'll take up to 10 days. Now this was a joke, how can you guarantee a job and then not stick to it? I was sick of this and collected my PC. I included some cables and a box with screws if they possibly needed it ( that came with the PC case and motherboard ), but upon collection they had removed it. Not to state they also gave me the PC back with a front panel removed. I decided to ring this other tech shop and they gave me instructions and I was able to fix this PC in 2 minutes and as it looks, in my honest opinion looks like the technician didn't even take a look at my PC!!! After I collected the PC, I asked on the ticket what is the need to send it to Galway for, asking what is the possible issue? Guess what? Ticket got closed straight away no response. Very disrespectful staff! Do not come here, I would suggest anywhere but here!

I was told by another company that they could not fix the keyboard on my laptop.
I took it to Tech Star and they fixed it promptly.
This keyboard failed after a few weeks and they replaced it straight away. I have had no problems since and I have bought more things from them since. Their service was first class.
8 weeks laptop repair
Took 8 weeks for laptop repair to be completed. Tier3 technician did fix the initial issue but caused a couple more after the repair. No due diligence in checking things after repair. Nearly lost my laptop in between the transfers from Limerick to Galway to Cork and vice versa. Everytime I called for an update, it's either "I don't know" or "call back again tomorrow" was the go to answer. Employees were of little help to resolve the issue. I was told it was very "unfortunate" for me for all the hassle that had happened. Only got a 100eu off the fix price but didn't think it was enough for the stress and hassle they've put me through. Owner came in clutch last second but was not much of help either. Nearly misplaced my laptop charger as well. Would've given no star rating if it allowed me.

Terribly
Terribly, they told me that my notebook had a problem with the motherboard and that it was better for me to sell the parts. I went to another technician and fixed my notebook for €50. I paid €65 to investigate the problem, they gave the wrong diagnosis and I lost the money. I don’t recommend.

Techstar are consummate professionals. They took in my laptop and got working on it right away, which was much appreciated, as I was getting ready for back to school. I had prompt updates and before long, I was back in the saddle. I wouldn't go anywhere else. #GoTechstar
