I recently bought my 2017 Honda Civic SE from The Car Zone in Winsford, and the whole experience has been excellent. When I first viewed the car, George was the salesperson and he was brilliant — friendly, helpful, and completely pressure‑free. He let us look around and test‑drive at our own pace, which instantly made the place feel trustworthy.
A little while after buying the car, a recall came up for the wet belt system. No problem — or so I thought. I took it to the Stoke Honda dealership, who refused to carry out the recall unless I paid over £1,000 for them to “break the engine down,” along with a list of excuses that didn’t add up. It was a stressful situation and felt completely unfair.
I went back to The Car Zone, and this is where their customer service really shone. Carlos was extremely helpful, and when Honda kept pushing back, Darren stepped in personally. He contacted Honda himself, asked me to bring the car back so his own mechanic could inspect it, and confirmed there was absolutely no reason the recall shouldn’t be done.
Using his contacts, Darren arranged for another Honda dealership in Wakefield to take on the recall — and they completed it properly, professionally, and without any hassle. Throughout the whole process, The Car Zone kept in touch, reassured me, and genuinely went above and beyond to sort out a problem that wasn’t even their fault.
They turned what started as a stressful situation into a positive outcome, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for better support.
Overall, The Car Zone have been fantastic — top‑tier customer service, honest communication, and a team that genuinely cares about their customers. I’ll definitely be returning when my wife changes her car next year. Highly recommended.
ABOLUTELY SUPERB
I have just completed a purchase with Carzone Winsford and can honestly say that; in 40 years of buying and selling personal cars i have had very few better experiences. From the car, to the price and the deal everything was pretty much perfect. I have always used a main dealer when purchasing cars, because i have always appreciated the protections that a main dealer offers, so using carzone made me initially; a little nervous. But, i did my research, checked the car out properly, and i did raise a few concerns about the car itself; which were promptly taken care of, and a week later we completed and exchanged. I would have no hesitation in going back to Carzone in the future.
On a personal note, I want to say "Thankyou" to Kyle, for looking after me. He knows what he's doing and what he's talking about, which is hard to find at a main dealer where they think you'll buy a car just because you like it and no interaction is needed.
And another "Thankyou" to Darren, the boss; for getting everything squared away as quickly as possible with no questions, arguament or quibble.

Saw a car on auto trader which looked lovely in the photos which were taken inside the showroom and phoned car zone to see if I could view it the next day which a very nice staff member said would be ok and booked a viewing for 0900. We travelled 50 miles to Winsford to view the car but the lady that met us couldn't find it, it's a pretty big site,we were given the keys and we're told it was probably at the back of the compound.We eventually found it at the back of many rows of cars ,we couldn't really view it as there was no space to look at it properly, it was dirty inside and out and some damage on one wing, I wasn't to happy with this as we had pre booked a viewing and felt like we were being ignored and I doubt that they knew anything about the car. We said our goodbyes and headed back home,another 50 miles. Probably the worst car buying experience that I ever had.

I noticed a crack in the rear light that neither I or Kyle had seen before. We agreed a price both of us were happy with along with the replacement of the light. The next week I went down after the car had been for an MOT and full clean. I was super happy with the service the professionalism and just all round great customer service. Id highly recommend these guys. Huge showroom with some incredible cars. Just want to say again to th3se guys thanks for making the whole experience effortless and smooth

Bought two cars from the car zone and they were both excellent value. George was great and made sure we were well looked after throughout the entire process. The selection of cars available was incredible too, it was easy to find something that suited me.
Bought a a160 Mercedes ..looked very impressive until it actually arrived 4 days later at 11pm on a Saturday night
Bought a a160 Mercedes. On the Tuesday. Paid for delivery it arrived at 11pm on the Saturday. Faults found even in the dark...and rain...management light was on....low tyre pressure warning on...passenger front seat recliner broke .im dreading going out in the morning to see it in daylight the pics on autotrader or description was nothing like what I have received. No idea if ive received the full service history paperwork or mot certificate until I look in the glovebox in daylight....

AVOID CAR ZONE LIKE THE PLAGUE!
We bought a Jaguar E-Pace from Car Zone Winsford in November 2024. Before we even picked it up, they admitted the timing chain was faulty and promised to fix it. Fast forward just over a year—after less than 10,000 miles—the timing chain has FAILED AGAIN. This is beyond unacceptable. A timing chain should last the lifetime of the car, not collapse after 12 months. Either they botched the repair or sold us a complete lie that this work was even carried out.
And it doesn’t stop there. The car now needs a new timing chain, a DPF, AND a turbo. These are three of the biggest, most expensive repairs you can have on a car. Total cost £6,000—half the price we paid for the vehicle. Absolutely outrageous.
We bought this car as a new family with a 3-week-old baby. Car Zone knew this and still sold us a dangerous, defective piece of junk that should have been scrapped. This isn’t just bad business—it’s reckless and disgusting.
When we called them to discuss this, they couldn’t care less. No help, no accountability, no shame. They do not give a damn about their customers or their safety.
DO NOT BUY FROM THIS GARAGE. They are liars, scammers, and will happily sell you a ticking time bomb on wheels. You WILL regret it.

Called car The Carzone on Friday…
I called The Carzone on Friday morning after my wife decided she wanted a new car for Monday. After some research, we settled on an EV as it made the most sense for her low weekly mileage and the low running and maintenance costs.
I spoke to Caitlin about a Kia they had in stock and explained that we hoped to have it by Saturday. She managed to pull everything together, and I collected my wife’s new car the next day. It was fully charged on arrival and the service throughout was excellent.
Great service all round — many thanks.
