Authentic taste
We loved the authentic taste of one of our all time favourites, chicken souvlaki. My daughter and I had fun making it while listening to the playlist. The portions were very generous, the ingredients were so fresh and the instructions were clear. As a result we were able to prepare and serve a fantastic Greek dinner that tasted just like it does on a Greek holiday.
This is my second Cookaway box and they have both been fabulous. I will definitely buy again and will thoroughly recommend.

The entire process was so amazing. Ordered Spanish chicken paella, I loved how they had the entire checklist with even a small ingredient like salt and turmeric also provided.
This made it very easy to follow all the recipe cards without any stress. The delivery was also timely and everything including the chicken and vegetables were fresh.

Absolutely stunning experience. All food was delivered chilled and on the arrival day I requested. We made the beef wellington with all the trimmings and it was simply delicious. 5* quality food, all fresh, step by step instructions. Would be a great gift for someone to.

Delicious Culinary Experience!
Absolutely delicious Spanish tapas and such fun to put together with all the ingredients provided and detailed instructions. (We were again hugely impressed by the quality of the prawns supplied.) In fact, it was such a success that my husband ordered the Spanish Tapas again to celebrate my 70th birthday yesterday! Thank you, Cookaway, for another delicious culinary adventure!

Really nice meal and it was a lovely...BUT
Really nice meal and it was a lovely eat in date night for me and my wife....although it did take 2 hours to cook and we even had to make our own bread! 5/5 for the food...1/5 for the faff. Perhaps some of the elements could be pre-made to reduce the overall cooking time.

Chicken and Tiger Prawn laksa
I recently ordered from Cookaway and overall had a very good experience. The packaging and delivery were excellent, and the ingredients arrived fresh. I tried the Malaysian Laksa, which tasted really good. Personally, I would have preferred the spice level to be a little higher, but that’s just down to individual taste. The only part that confused me was the noodles—I was expecting rice vermicelli, but instead received grass noodles.

Dinner = a trip to Greece thanks to Cook Away!
I picked their Pork Souvlaki box which included everything I needed to make juicy marinated pork, fresh tzatziki, homemade pita and chips.
What I loved most? Each step was broken down into simple stages so I knew exactly what to do and when. No stress, just fun cooking!
The end result? Absolutely delicious. One I’ll definitely be making again.
There are many cuisines and recipes to choose from, so something that would suit everyone!

Delivery not so great - parcel was just left on my front doorstep - driver didn’t knock or ring bell - I’m disabled and struggled to get the parcel inside!

Expensive, Laborious, Confusing & Dissappointing.
This was a really dissappointing experience. My brother meant to buy me Cook Food vouchers but bought these by mistake so I thought I would give it a go anyway.
After logging on I was shocked at how expensive everything is, for 2 meals that feed 2 people each, it came to £63 - arguably more expensive than a takeout.
I ordered on a Friday and it arrived the following Tuesday.
The instruction kits look beautiful but they are very confusing to actually read, with multiple recipe cards needing to be actioned simalteaneously for one meal - my husband and I both had to do this together. Some ingredients came prepped, some didn't, some said on the label that they were prepped but weren't. Some items on the ingredient list mentioned how they should be prepped, others said nothing at all.
The rice demanded to be washed 4 times and left to soak for 20 minutes - I wish I had just cooked it the normal way in my rice cooker - 10 mins and no fuss for the same end result.
Instructions were sometimes vague and the amount of washing up left was vast, for one meal we needed 2 frying pans, 2 saucepans, 2 dishes, 2 mixing bowls, a sieve and a blender - and we didn't even bother with the 9 ingredient massala chai that went with it.
The meal itself was a let down, having followed all the timings to the letter, parts were underdone making it a 'crunchy' curry in places.
We have another meal to cook but honestly I am thinking about just putting it in the bin - it's more trouble than the meals we cook normally

- Our meals are a full menu (2-3 recipes) and generous portions so serves 2-3 people. That works out to roughly £10 / person for a full meal (for your menus) which is really good value for money given we send top quality specialist ingredients that are delivered to your doorstep so you can have an immersive cultural and cooking experience.
- While you can certainly find a cheaper takeaway, you do need to take into account the quality of ingredients used. However, we're confident that you cannot source the same experience and ingredients cheaper than buying from us. See our Cookaway challenge here - https://youtu.be/nJ8KlmSZrXI
- Finally, we are like the Lego of Cooking which means the joy is in the process that is designed to be immersive so you can switch off and enjoy cooking while chatting and connecting with your loved ones. The final result is always guaranteed so you know you'll have a great meal to savour at the end. We love messy kitchens and dirty dishes as its all part of the fun.
The Goan Prawn Curry is one of our bestselling menus with tons of 5 star reviews here but it sounds like this didnt work for you. Our customer service team will be in touch to discuss this with you.
