The past 15 years of my career have been spent in South, Africa, London abd Dubai setting up and running the creative production (photographic and video) studios for some of the world’s largest online fashion businesses. When I moved to New Zealand mid 2020 with my young family and I wanted to pursue something I had always been very interested in, Interior Design. I enrolled with The Interior Design Academy as I loved the fact their course was all online, gave you all the knowledge you would need to run your own business rather than a lot of extras that weren’t necessary. I also loved that it could be done in my own time as a lot of us are trying to juggle jobs, family and life in general so being able to do it in my own time was key! I found the faculty and everyone I dealt with so helpful, responsive and supportive and always very happy to advise on anything. The modules are very well set out, visually stimulating and the learning materials very clear, detailed and thorough. The feedback from each assignment was also very detailed and really helped me to understand where I was doing well and clear areas of improvements. I would highly recommend this course for anyone wanting to pursue Interior Design as a career as this will give you all the tools you’ll need!

Super helpful, knowledgeable and friendly! I was very excited during the whole length of the course. It is the most practical course one can lay hands on. Rather than teaching how to be creative, it teaches you how to apply your own creativity and judge you on the feasibility of the design. The course is self-paced hence no need to rush the designs. The professors and managers are super friendly. I loved every bit of the journey they have created.

I would never have been able to do this course unless it was completely online, it was so easy to follow too. The feedback for assignments is great. I recently had issues and was unable to study for a couple of months, after one email my course was paused and the pressure was taken off. I am so grateful to the entire team, there is so much support to help you be successful.

I really enjoyed this course. Its great that its continued to educate and teach all these years later. I did not finish this course, but got so far and am going to try to finish this due to a great phone call I had with the general manager.

I did try again and again, but my expecations on myself were too high. (I was trying to be an architect of somekind i think!) The maths/technical side of one of the last assignments really threw me mentally. I tried to push thru many times but also I should have called the academy rather than just emailing with one tutor.

I loved putting together so many of the assignments and still have them all. hmmmm...

Its a real course with great photos examples, and was easy to organise everything that came with it.

I would highly recommend this course to anyone who is wanting to develop their skills within the of interior design industry. What I loved most was that I could study in my own time for how ever long I liked working around a young family and other commitments. My tutor always provided very detailed constructive feedback on my assignments. She was encouraging and honest which is great!
The other great thing about this course is that it provides you with Valuable informations and tips on how to set up your own business, this has made me feel a lot more confident in pursuing a courier within the industry and its exciting!
The only slight downfall was the delay in communication when I wanted to continue studying after my maternity leave.
Apart from that I would highly recommend!

Flexible and Thorough
Having only just started the course, I have found the content and instructions to be detailed and comprehensive. The Interior Design Academy has been very flexible and understanding in allowing for my busy home life (three kids under five), and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone interested in interior design.

I found this Diploma course good, the tutor was helpful and so were the admin staff. I did, however find myself buying the reference books and I had quite a lot of fun in old book shops and charity shops doing the scrounge. I enjoyed the course although I must say I felt it would have been helpful knowing how I performed in my modules once they were submitted, there was no gaging on my marks so whether I did average or did well I didn't get those results! I think people should research the interior design area more thoroughly so they get a better understanding of the industry. For me, I found the area I had chosen was a lot harder to get into than I realised, there were lots of people who were all doing the same course, which made it that much harder to enter into the industry, I found with all of that study it wasn't for me. I suggest research all aspects of design so you get a feel of which path of design you want to place yourself in because there is more to it than styling a house to sell, then go for it.

I found The Interior Design Academy course very comprehensive, interesting and gave me the tools to start my own journey into the creative world and beyond to think outside the box. I highly recommend this course for those who are contemplating interior design. It was well worth it.

the course was good, good information, format etc. however on enrolment I understood a Diploma was the final achievment at the end of the course - this wasn’t the case - a statement was the final outcome. …. not quite the same as the promised diploma!

The course offers a wonderful overview of interior design. It covers a wide variety of topics from colours and furnishings to environmental and commercial design. Feedback from tutors on assignments is timely, and the tutorials are easy to read and understand. I recommend the course.

It was samething i always wanted to do and achive .,to continue my new courier .

The course was amazing .,i placed my mind to it that i would finish it in 12 weeks .,and so i did .,
Hard work to do this ,.in this short time .,but wanted to prove to myself it can be done ..

If your heart disries samething so much .,anything is possable ..im a mum of 4 teens
And still managed to pull this one through ..
With studies ,..and long hours at nights .
Its what you place in it is what you will achive at the end ..

The course coved everything .,you need to contiue on your journey as a interior designer.

I personally couldn't recommend the Interior Design Academy more highly! Everything - from the course layout to the content to the support, it was brilliant! I loved that I could work through the course in my own time, however I was especially impressed with the amount of content in every unit, they were packed with practical content... not 'textbook stuff sitting through a semester at uni you'll never use again'. I was grateful to my tutor for her timely feedback, and the amount of feedback she offered. The tutorials are interesting, informative and technically easy to understand-I have found them to be a great resource as I launch my business.
Assignment feedback is honest and provides even more information about what's essential in the context of accuracy and client satisfaction.

After completing The Professional Interior Design Course, I have gone on to assist hundreds of clients over the years to create beautiful interior and exterior designs for their homes. I work largely in the new home construction industry and help clients complete mainly kitchens and bathrooms and indoor & outdoor living spaces that reflect them and their lifestyle.

The course itself was well presented with easy instructions for the completion of each assessment. There was always someone on hand to assist with any queries and I had the encouragement and support of a personal tutor. I loved the ability of working online at my pace (much of how the world operates now) so I was able to complete the course around my full-time job and my family life. Upon completion of the course, I have been able to use the skills acquired to go and create a fun and rewarding career that I continue to run largely online with some in house appointments to discuss client needs and changes; however much of this can be done online via video stream now, which also adds to that lifestyle flexibility.

I have been using my skills learnt during my course studies to go and work with many builders in both the volume home and custom home industries and complete project renovations for family and friends. I just love how much the changes in their homes makes them feel and is able to represent who they are. I found that for many people visualising or designing what they want is very difficult, so it has been amazing to provide solutions to their design challenges and show how it will look and increase the value of their properties. I have gone on to do online courses in drafting and design to fully provide 2D & 3D Designs for clients.
If I could offer any advice to anyone considering taking up this course, it would be this course will give you the fundamental education you will need to work as an interior designer. It will also provide you with the benefits of studying online from home andwhile receiving all the assistance you require to become qualified and follow in your passion for design.

It truly is a very rewarding career, so becoming qualified as a professional interior designer through this course will give you the skills and the confidence to pursue all of your dreams!
