The King Project is the UK's first not-for-profit platform built to measure and expose bias in CAFCASS reports and family court decisions. We exist because, for too long, parents who have lost contact with their children have had nowhere to turn and no way to prove that a report got it wrong. When separated parents cannot agree on arrangements, the family court usually orders a Section 7 report, written by a CAFCASS officer, and the court follows its recommendation in the large majority of cases. One report can decide whether a child grows up knowing both parents. When that report is inaccurate, parents have had no real route to challenge it. We are changing that. We take family court and CAFCASS reports and measure them against the rules and frameworks those officers are required to follow. We turn thousands of individual cases into hard national data, because one parent's story can be dismissed, but a documented pattern cannot. Stories get dismissed. Data does not. We are not a legal advice service and we are not solicitors. We support parents of every background, free of charge, and our central mission is accountability, holding the family court system to account through evidence, so that fewer children lose a loving parent to a process nobody checks.

Helpful analysis of CAFCASS Child Impact Report
Really positive experience with Steven and the king project as they provided a useful analysis of the impact report prepared by CAFCASS. This helped me formulate my plan for preparing for the hearing. Thanks a lot

I now feel more positive moving forward dealing with a complaint into my local authority
I found The Kings Project today on fb and reached out. I spoke to Steve about my experiences with my local authority.
As I am very confused about a complaint response and dealing with them having my son trafficked in a placement.
I have been dealing with this for nearly 5 years and honestly has been so confusing and traumatic and even after a safeguarding review where they admitted failings the complaint process I feel they make it as hard as possible.
The Kings trust helped me more over a few hours than any professional I’ve dealt with in all these years.
Fantastic advice and helped me put all my documentation together in a way that’s easy for me to understand and I can use moving forward.
I really am mind blown..
absolutely brilliant .. I would encourage anybody dealing with social care and are at a dead end to use the kings project

Five years of fighting a complaints process that felt built to wear you down, and what you needed was never complicated: someone to sit with the documents, make sense of them, and put them in an order you could actually use.
