The restaurant is lovely but do not order the roast dinner. It was like a ready meal from Tescos. it was dry, no flavour and even though the restaurant was not that busy, the food took over 45 minutes to arrive.
Last time I had a ready meal, it only took 2 minutes to heat up in a microwave so I was surprised at how long the food took to come out.
Location is lovely in Kew, the interior itself is so nice but its a shame the food couldn't match everything around it. We were truly disappointed and we give 2 stars because we feel it needed another star for the decor, if the decor wasn't nice, it would of been 1 star.
Hate writing bad reviews but I think if you go there, maybe just get tea and cake as they did look nice but we went for the lunch menu option which was a big mistake, oh well

Bought a pie online for my father in law and it was exquisite. Full of taste and lovely fillings. Highly recommend the steak pie.

It was a right ripoff for what we had. We has 2 filter coffees and 2 so called 'cheese & onion' pasties (so called because 95% of the filling was potatoes'. The pies price on the display shelf was £3.00 (reasonable). However the bill came to £20 plus! When I enquired why the bill was so hihg I was told that the displayed price was for take aways and eat in price was different. Fair enough but such a large difference was total a rip off. If you visit the place make doubly sure what it is going to cost you before placing your order rather than just expecting it to be a reasonable amount!

If you are visiting Kew Gardens at any time of the year, as a local resident or as a tourist I would highly recommend you go The Original Maids of Honour.

You will have a pleasant visit where all members of staff are welcoming, friendly and above all the food experience is marvellous. If you are looking for a home made freshly prepared food and a taste that can take you back to the good home made food days. This is the place to go…

I visited the Maids of Honour today and had delicious food served by the nice members of staff who works there. Nevinha is one of the staff members who is very polite, friendly, attentive to make customers welcome at their dining experience.
Thank you everyone at the Maids of Honour for such a marvellous service. I know all this is possible because there is a great team working extremely hard, from the careful purchase of sustainable food suppliers,a kitchen team, front line staff. You are all part of what makes this place one of the best to be visited before or after going to Kew Garden’s.
I highly recommend this place to everyone who is looking for freshly home made food and a great customer service.
I am grateful for having such a wonderful place like this near Kew Garden’s.
