Well as a female i explained to the assistant that I wanted a new perfume and she advised one for me which was quite expensive but went ahead with it she quickly put it in a bag and i paid but once home I opened it and it was aftershave called the shop and was advised that if it was open they couldn't do anything about it surely they could have swapped it and used mine as a sample bottle stick to a different shop going forward

I’m sincerely sorry to hear about your experience, particularly as you had explained that you were looking for a new perfume and relied on the advice of our store team to help you make your selection.
If you selected and purchased a perfume but were then given a different product in error, this is something we would absolutely want to look into further and you should not simply have been advised that nothing could be done because the product had been opened.
If, however, the fragrance recommended and demonstrated in store was the product you chose and purchased, but you later realised after opening it that it was marketed as an aftershave, the circumstances would be slightly different. This is why we would really like the opportunity to understand exactly what happened during your visit before commenting on the appropriate resolution.
Please reach out to our Customer Services team with the details of your purchase and the store visited so that we can investigate this further with the relevant store team and see how we can support you.
