I was working with TheWorldServers for a few years - the experience started off good. I had a personal deal with them to sell their virtual servers at a good price.
But then as years passed, things just went downhill. Management changed, setup times were getting slower, and overall the kind of communication I was receiving from the representative I was always assigned with had less and less of a professional attitude each time I contacted them.
They manage the servers relatively well (when they're online), sometimes they have bad days and inexplicably start charging for things that they originally didn't, but this is usually resolved with a small 'push' my end of telling them to get their act together. Re-installations of OSes should always remain free (seeing as it doesn't cost them anything - and I know it doesn't).
Now I understand that data loss occurs, and hard-drives fail, but this company was not very up-to-scratch when it came to backups and sticking to an SLA period. But I had this happen to me twice throughout the same year. Neither of the times they explained the cause, but managed to recover files on multiple machines after a LONG few weeks with little effort their end (I believe they just reallocated the virtual HDD to a new machine?) and most efforts my end to give them instructions as well as recover the data at the same time.
Overall, my experience with them started well, but ended horribly. Setup times went from a few minutes to a few DAYS. Support got worse. Performance degradations became more frequent. I ended up leaving them with the 30+ servers I had open with them (as they just resell from OVH) and decided to migrate my customers to my own servers instead which I now manage myself and couldn't be happier doing it all myself!
