Achtung!, es werden im nachhinein ungerechtfertigte Beträge abgebucht! Ich habe leider zu spät die Bewertungen gelesen, dass diese Vorgangsweise üblich ist. und über opodo gibt es keine Möglichkeit zu reklamieren!

Vorsicht vor diesem Anbieter! Hier werden Kunden im Nachhinein dreist abgezockt. Nach meiner Anmietung wurden mir einfach 180,77 EUR für Posten einbehalten, die nicht gerechtfertigt sind:

- Untergeschobene Versicherung: Mir wurde eine „Premium Roadside Service Versicherung“ berechnet, die ich niemals verlangt oder bewusst gebucht habe. Sie wurde mir ohne mein Einverständnis und ohne Aufklärung einfach untergeschoben.

- Grenzübertritt-Gebühr: Völlig unberechtigt. Ich habe bereits bei der Abholung des Wagens ausdrücklich deklariert, dass ich ins Ausland fahre. Das war also offiziell angemeldet.

- Tankkosten: Ich habe das Auto vollgetankt zurückgegeben. Trotzdem werden mir einfach Tankkosten berechnet, in der Hoffnung, dass man es nicht merkt oder die Quittung nicht mehr hat.

Der Kundenservice versteckt sich hinter dem Kleingedruckten, anstatt den Betrug vor Ort zu prüfen.

Ich werde hier nie wieder ein Auto buchen und kann nur jedem raten: Finger weg von Thrifty!

I have been charged over £500 for apparently returning the car without refueling it, even though I did so at a petrol station less than 500m from the drop-off at Berlin Airport, and I have a receipt to prove it. The man checking the car when I dropped it off told me everything was OK. Thrifty/Hertz are not responding to my emails or phone calls.

Wir haben ein Auto in Rabat angemietet und in Marrakech zurück gegeben. Es hat alles wunderbar geklappt. Die Leute waren super freundlich bei der Anmiete wie auch bei der Rückgabe. Kann ich sehr empfehlen.

Wenn ich könnte, würde ich minus 3 Sterne geben. Ich habe von Thrifty ein Auto für 6 Tage gemietet. und habe es ordnungsgemäß am 21.08.25, am Rückgabetag, 1/2 Stunde vor Ablauf abgestellt. Dann habe ich auf einen Mitarbeiter gewartet, es war extrem viel los und der kam sehr spät! Für diesen miserablen Service haben sie mir kurz mal eben einen Extra-Tag berechnet! Auf der Rechnung steht: Rückgabe 22.08. 06:40 h
Ich habe jeden Tag dutzende Male bei der Station am Flughafen München angerufen, bei 52 Mal habe ich aufgehört zu zählen. Es hebt nie jemand ab! Es gibt sonst keine Kontakt-Möglichkeit! Das kann man auch bei tausenden Beschwerden im Internet nachlesen. Die so genannte Beschwerde Hotline labert dich nur voll, da geht gar nichts. Ich rate dringend ab von Hertz. Lieber ein paar Euro mehr ausgeben, das ist diese ganze Nerverei über Tage nicht wert!

They are getting one star as there is no option with zero starts.
We hired a care via another agent and paid for the additional damage / accident waiver with them. Upon collecting the car, we were told there was no cover in place and they charged us an additional 200 euros to have it included (yes I could have said no, but you do need the peace of mind, just in case). On top of that, when we returned the car and I received the final bill via email, we were charged over 100 Euros for the privilege of hiring the car from Munich Airport (we booked it, for collection and drop off from there, so why the extra charge!!!!!)
I have emailed them to raise a complaint, and to date had no reply, no surprise there!!!!!
Avoid this company like the plague. You will end up paying nearly double to your original booking price.

Make sure you have your own insurance cover and have substantial video/photographic evidence of the state of the car before rental. The evidence of my rental was completely inaccurate and I wish I had taken photos before I left the rental. My pre rental form indicated a smashed windscreen and a scratch on the front wing. It was only when I had left that i reviewed this and the damage was not present and their reports of the car weren’t up to date. Upon return thrifty indicated some minor scratches which they billed me €700 for. After I challenged this and indicated their evidence of the car was wrong, and the pictures they provided of the car were dated 6 months previous, they have since admitted the windscreen was repaired prior to my rental even though present on my contract. I wouldn’t trust their processes or capability and advise taking your own insurance policy, take clear pictures of the car, and challenge anything in person before you leave. Thrifty/Hertz’ complaints handling process is awful!

I am absolutely appalled by the disgraceful service I received from Dollar Thrifty at Frankfurt Airport. They erroneously charged me 300 euros for supposedly returning a car without petrol, despite the fact that the car was FULL and reviewed by their own staff onsite.

Despite providing receipts and multiple emails complaining about this blatant error, Dollar Thrifty has refused to remove the unjust charges or even acknowledge their mistake. Their lack of accountability and customer service is utterly unacceptable.

This company’s behavior is nothing short of a scam. Save yourself the headache and avoid Dollar Thrifty at all costs. They are a disgrace to the car rental industry.

zu Thrifty(Hertz), Rather Kreuzweg 109, Düsseldorf:
Hätte mir nicht 25 Stunden vorher Herrn Hölscher bestätigt, dass der gewünschte Stromer verfügbar sein wird ("Ja, wenn der Flottendisponent den im Netz eingestellt hat, wird der da sein. Ja, wenn Sie einen Stromer bestellt haben bekommen Sie auch einen Stromer.") wäre es eine der üblichen Fehlleistungen von Hertz (ist mein zweites Mal, andere NL). In Kenntnis meiner Daten und meiner Buchung informiert man mich nicht, sondern lässt mich an- und ohne das versprochene Auto wieder abreisen. Zu hören bekommt man dann vor Ort die üblichen Ausreden: "Ich weiß auch nicht, was der Flottendisponent..." undsoweiter.

I rented a decent car from Thrifty at Munich Airport but was appalled two days after returning the car that I had been charged £726 for alleged damages, which was notified by email. I was not asked to inspect and agree the car's condition, simply being told I could leave the drop-off car park without reference to anyone. Thrifty then had the cheek to falsely state that I had accepted responsibility for the supposed damage. When I queried this with the firm (or its parent Hertz) on my return to the UK, none of my emails were answered. I have rented cars in many countries and never had such a bad experience.

Auf einer Geschäftsreise in El Paso, Texas wollte ich übers Wochenende einen Mietwagen buchen. Ich entschied mich über Check24 für ein Angebot von rentalcars.com, bei welchem der Mietwagen über Thrifty bereitgestellt werden sollte. Ich konnte meine Buchung mit meiner privaten Kreditkarte buchen, alles schien normal zu laufen. Dann am Schalter die böse Überraschung: Der Anbieter akzeptiert meine Kreditkarte (mit der ich das Angebot online ganz normal buchen konnte!) nicht und wird mir deshalb keinen Mietwagen zur Verfügung stellen können. Soweit so schlecht, doch nun der Knaller: Der Anbieter lehnt meine Karte ab, lehnt außerdem eine bar-Hinterlegung der fälligen Kaution ab und berechnet den VOLLEN fälligen Betrag, ohne das ihm irgendwelche Kosten entstanden sind.
Da mir in diesem Fall weder rentalcars.com, noch Thrifty, noch Check24 helfen bzw. entgegenkommen wollten, werde ich alle an diesem Desaster beteiligten Parteien in Zukunft meiden, da seriöse Geschäfte in meinen Augen nicht mehr möglich sind.
Besondere Grüße gehen dabei an den extrem unfreundlichen Thrifty-Mitarbeiter vor Ort, der nur einen weiteren Grund darstellt, nie wieder mit dieser Firma zusammenzuarbeiten

Anmietung eines Autos 16.05. bis 17.05.2022 am Miami Airport bei Thrifty/Dollar. Alles super gelaufen. Keine lange Wartezeiten. Buchung über check24- auto europe in GER. Schöner Kia Soul, eigener Transponder für Maut darf benutz werden. Absolut empfehlenswert !!!

Avoid Thrifty which belong to Hertz if you don't like hassle nor to get charged extra.
I would not book their cars again. I got a car with 6 previous damages which were marked and light scratches all around the bodywork and even on the display in the car.

Nonetheless they pointed out one scratcher when I gave the car back and charged me for it.

What a money making method. In my opinion, it is highly criminal.

Will not book them again and surely can not recommend them.

59€ cancellation fee.... Don't pre book with Thrifty
I have booked Thrifty via Rentalcars, I am unable to travel due to COVID19 and they are charging me 59EUR cancellation fee even if I am cancelling it 2 months in advance. I booked it pre-corona and was sure of traveling, who (?) would have thought there will be a pandemic waiting up ahead. I pre booked it because there is no cancellation charges if I cancel it 48 hours in advance. Either Rentalcars of Thrifty is putting this charge. Rentalcars says it is being charged by Thrifty, I am very disappointed with both.....

Schlechterster Service den ich je von einer Autovermietung erlebt habe. Mein am 18.09.2019 in der Robert-Perthel-Str. in Köln-Bilderstöckchen gebuchtes und bezahltes Auto wurde einen Tag vor Anmietung am 20.09.19 um 14:00 Uhr per Email storniert, weil man angeblich kein Fahrzeug zur Verfügung hat. Am 16.12.19 habe ich trotz zahlreicher Nachfragen per Telefon und Email keine Rückerstattung meiner Zahlung erhalten. Die Filialmitarbeiter verweisen mich immer nur an den Kundendienst von Hertz, der aber nichts von meinem Anliegen wissen will. Ich habe mittlerweile Anzeige erstattet und die Sache meinem Anwalt übergegeben. Auf keinen Fall Autos bei Thrifty/Hertz mieten!

Bandieten zijn het op vliegveld Weeze, een auto gehuurd en ik had een hele kleine schade op de linkervelg, klein krasje, en dat koste me 278 euro. Ik zei tegen de medewerkerster dat je daar een nieuwe velg voor kon kopen maar toen begon ze een onzinnig verhaal op te hangen en ben ik maar weggelopen want het had geen zin om daar tegen in te gaan.
En kijk ook uit met alle kosten die er bij komen zoals, de auto buiten Duitsland rijden en andere kleine bedragen die oplopen tot bijna 100euro voor 4 dagenhuur. NOOIT MEER THRIFTY .

Location d'une voiture à Porto, obligé de prendre une assurance hors de prix en plus pour récupérer la voiture. Nous rendons la voiture avec le plein d'essence, on nous donne un ticket avec un montant quand on rend la voiture, surprise 15 jours après on nous prélève 110€ en plus de la facture d'origine car nous l'aurions rendu vide. Le service client ne veut rien attendre, une belle arnaque

We cannot trust Thrifty: they added to our bill: 239 Eur (!) "location surcharge" not included in purpose in the initial price + 238 Eur for an upgrade we did NOT asked (Munich Airport) + 288 Eur for fuel but we returned the car 100% full! After a lot of time lost they finally reimbursed the 288 Eur for the fuel, but not the remaining!

Be very careful when Thrifty (also Dollar/Hertz) at Munich Airport offers you an upgrade you didn’t ask for. It is a nasty way of ripping you off badly.
Especially when you booked through third-party and you think all is been paid for.

They seem very kind at first, but will rip you off for more than 1000.- euros for a 4 days hire without telling you anything about it at the desk. (Random upgrade charges, a random service fee of more than 100.- and a GPS you didn’t ask for). Even when you arranged your own insurance (as we told them), it still surprisingly ends up on your bill.
But the saddest part is, that they don’t tell you about it, but put the Rental Record quickly in a booklet and don’t say anything about extra expenses.

When returning at the desk to ask why we received a bill for such a crazy amount of money for only 4 days, they quickly say it is a mistake, and say they cannot do anything about it at the desk. E-mailing customer relations will fix the problem.
But after contacting customer relations, the desk representatives come up with another story, liars.

A very nasty way of earning money! Very disappointed in this brand, will never hire again.
