Very clean corporate gym. Welcoming, some of the older customers are very rude and to be honest a bit stuck up. The newer crowd are very happy and the staff are always helpful.

Wow, I don’t really do reviews but reading some of these has me baffled… my wife and I joined trugym Thorpe bay when it first opened and both say regularly
How lovely the staff are - in fact we have never been in a gym where every member of staff from top to bottom are as approachable and helpful!

Every morning we are greeted by happy faces and a “good morning”, on leaving with a “see you soon, hope you had a good workout!”

We have had several chats with the manager who seems to have got some ire from some of these reviews and she is lovely, I mean I am truly baffled, we train every other day so are in the gym a lot and have never seen anything, even once to deem any of these reviews as deserved, quite the opposite.

It seems somebody struggled to develop beyond a 20kg bench and got shirty.

We are both far too close to 50 for my liking and find trugym the most comfortable
Gym for people of all ages and all sizes.

Take my advice and ignore the bile written by a few people that I would presume actually have nothing to do with either the gym or it’s manager - 5 stars all the way for me, if I could score it more highly I would!

I had not previously read the reviews before getting a membership, the manager is always helpful and friendly to both customers and staff and is well liked. She ensures the equipment is clean and placed correctly. The gym is lovely and never too busy, with nice facilities of the pool/ steam room and sauna also, as well as multifunction rooms that are free to use when no PT/ classes. Would recommend.

Tru Gym Southend has to do something about that Sasquatch manager Rochine. She’s like a dark nasty cloud that’s hanging over the place. She has no people skills or managerial skills at all. None of the regulars , or her staff like her. Her staff are terrified of her and won’t back up the customers in any way.
She’s spiteful and horrible beyond belief. She just waddles her self around the gym making everyone feel uncomfortable by her nasty stares or her shouting! It’s ridiculous.
The only time she’s happy is when
She’s surrounded by her juice head friends, which would makes sense of her ever lasting bad attitude. She’s obviously just trying to make the place a steroid gym so she wants to push us oldies out.
She’s destroyed which once was a great gym and turned it into a dirty dark place.
It won’t surprise me if it closes down again soon with that witch in charge.
Time for change. GET ROCHINE OUT

Staff and trainers are lovely-especially charlie.
The pool is amazing and one of the best pools i have been to at the gym.
Plenty of equipment to use in the main room also.
Staff always been happy to help on reception.

The spineless manager with no back bone! Lets his staff take abuse off of customers because they don’t return complaint calls

Wow just wow! Well let’s start with Olivia, one word for you RUDE! You need to lose your attitude because you shouldn’t be answering the phone and dealing with customers with that attitude!!

BEWARE: My daughter signed up to a month to month contract, she cancelled the membership as per the terms and conditions I.e gave them a months notice (we ended up having to pay for 2 months cancellation) We received an email to say the last DD would be taken on the 1st of April and the membership would cease on the 30th April!

2nd May and trugym have taken a payment out of my bank in order to get a refund due to trugyms admin error I could wait 15-28 days for my refund!!

To ring up and be spoken to like crap just takes the pi*s!

Gutted I got a 12 month membership but can’t wait to take my custom elsewhere!

I've been a member at Trugym, Huddersfield for a couple years now, and I highly recommend it. Great range of equipment and very helpful staff. Never had a bad experience in my time there and would recommend it to anyone local to Huddersfield to join.

Just started the gym and very good, highly recommend the classes !

Welcoming and friendly staff members and great gym equipment.

Firstly I’ve been a member since this place opened, the price is fantastic and since covid it’s spotless the cleaners work super hard. The instructors & PTs are all lovely too with a great variety of classes.
Issues I have:
Never any staff around who are trugym staff other than cleaners.
If you email with questions you never get a reply.
They have classes in the timetable that you can’t book.
Classes are cancelled off then added back on.
The social media is rubbish, it’s very self centred around what who ever is managing it is doing. No classes are ever advertised, no messages to say classes have been cancelled are put on.
Equipment is often broken or damaged and when reported it’s ignored.
No early morning classes available.

This gym used to be managed well and could be again. The management and communication let this place down.

They should take a look at other local gyms social media and learn from it.

I’ve been a member at the gym now for three months at Huddersfield the staff are lovely and there’s always someone to help and make you feel more comfortable. Would recommend.

Issues with the water meaning sometimes no water is available in the morning which is not ideal for filling up water bottle or getting ready for work in a morning!

I joined Trugym on a Black Friday offer. I came from on old school small gym previously so was a little apprehensive however it was the BEST decision i have ever made. I have so much choice class wise depending on how I'm feeling. The app is straightforward and easy to use. The gym is extremely well maintained, with people constantly cleaning. Staff are friendly and helpful, Laura on the desk was very reassuring and friendly when i signed up. Kari is amazing at conditioning classes, my only down fall is i wish she had more classes on as she is brilliant. Swimming pool is lovely and relaxed with staff always maintaining the area too. Absolutely recommend this gym. 5* all round.
