If you’re disabled don’t bother trying to rent off these!!!
If you’re disabled, then don’t bother trying to rent a property from these because they will completely discriminate against you!!! Both me and my mother are disabled and are about to be homeless due to our landlord wanting to sell his property. So for the last 6 months we’ve been desperately searching for a new home in mountain ash, and unfortunately most landlords in this area are now going with these so we’ve put in so many times to view one of their properties yet as soon as they know we are disabled we are turned away or told we have to have a guarantor even though between both of us we have more than double the amount they are asking for coming in. We’ve never missed a rental payment, and have excellent references from current and past landlords, neighbours, and prominent members of our community and we have excellent credit history. So I’ve asked them a few times if they’ll at least take our case to the landlord and ask and funny enough I get the same exact phrase back every single time even though I’ve asked different agents, they’ll all say “Well I could, but I already know what they’ll say”. Every one of them said the same thing, strange that is it.!!! It’s a disgrace the way this place has treated us. Like as if we’re scumbags or something. I never wanted to leave a bad review for a business in my area, but the last straw for me came yesterday when again I put in to view a property in Rheola street, again we have more than double the amount of money they are asking for coming in, but again as soon as I said the word disabled I was told we couldn’t apply unless we had a guarantor.!!! Don’t they realise how hard that is to get nowadays??? Nobody wants to do that for others anymore and I completely understand because I wouldn’t want to either. We’ve even offered them more rent in advance instead and even that’s been turned down as well.!!! If your a landlord in this area I would really discourage you from going with these bcz I’ve put in for so many houses with them, been turned away, then I’m seeing that they can’t seem to get anyone in them and I’m watching as the rental prices on the houses I’ve put in for are getting reduced, yet I could’ve afforded to pay the higher rent that was asked for originally but was turned down flat, so they are costing you landlords money. So all this leads me to believe there’s only one reason these won’t let us apply. I won’t ever try with this place again, their treatment has really hurt and offended me and I’m still considering whether or not I’m going to put in a complaint with the ombudsman.
