BUYER BEWARE. FAULTY GOODS. EMPTY PROMISES. NEVER GAVE A REFUND.

This company sold us a very poor quality set of chairs. The fabric was poorly joined. The legs were not fitted correctly. We got in touch about a returning them and were told there is a no quibble refund policy and were also told that due to the poor quality / items being faulty, they will cover the cost of returning them. Once they got the item back, we heard NOTHING. Not a word. And nor did we get a refund. We enquired and were told it will be issued later that week. Nothing materialised. The cycle repeated over and over and in the end we are having to go to small claims court. It wasn’t until we read the plethora of negative reviews on here and other review platforms that we realised this is a common reoccurring theme and we are clearly not the only ones. I am told by a solicitor that we will get our money back but it may take months. This has left us out of pocket and out of cash until it is sorted. Very sad situation and a shame that there are such devious unscrupulous companies like this selling online and taking vast sums of money from innocent customers. I’m sure they will eventually fold but in the meantime buyer beware!

Really impressed

Really impressed - huge choice of chairs and found exactly what I wanted. Had a real phone call from the company offering me flexible delivery date (very rare these days) and chair arrived exactly as expected. And it's a fabulous chair too! Thank you very much

Refund promised, but not given

Refund promised, but not given. I cancelled an order for a chair in March 2023. Customer service happily promised to refund my money onto my credit card, but it is now August and the refund has not been made. I've received several emails apologising and giving long explanations as to why it has been overlooked, but actions speak louder than words - NO REFUND. The credit card company are also chasing the refund with no success. Tubz should concentrate on giving the refund and not writing long, meaningless emails. Are they in financial trouble? I won't be using this company again.

Ordered two chairs.

Ordered two chairs. Small delay due to bank holiday but a lovely lady called Kim kept me fully updated all the time.
This lady would be a great asset to any business and Tubz are very lucky to have her front of house talking to customers.
The chairs arrived and I am thrilled with them. Just as I ordered excellent product.
All in all a very pleasurable experience dealing with Tubz especially Kim.

Sofa was meant to be delivered within 2…

Sofa was meant to be delivered within 2 to 4 weeks it actually took 6 due to suppliers of foam etc, which is acceptable that cannot be helped but no communication to let me know what's happening ! I had to keep ringing the store to get explanations and estimated delivery times. On arrival of sofa the legs that should of had brass on didn't! I telephoned the company AGAIN to ask for an explanation of why this had happened and was told that the suppliers didnt have them and they would be posted out in the near future, yet again no one called me to tell me the situation I just assumed they made mistake, how on earth was I meant to know they would be posted to me. I would not use again or recommend due to very poor customer service and lack of communication with their customers.

OUTSTANDING customer service

I ordered a tub chair from this company for my husbands 70th birthday, completely forgetting that with upholstered furniture there is often a lead time. Soon after placing my order I received an email, saying that they could only supply the chair I had ordered in 2 to 4 weeks. The birthday was in 3 weeks exactly!! I replied to the email, detailing the circumstances and asking if there was anything they could do to expedite the order. I got an almost instant reply saying they would do everything they could to get the chair to me in time. Two days before the birthday, I received a call from them saying the chair was ready but they were entirely at the mercy of whether they could get a courier to deliver it in time, the usual courier time being 2-3 working days. As we live in Scotland I resigned myself to it missing the big day, but no, on the morning of the birthday I got another call from The Tub Chair Shop saying the courier had notified them that the chair was out for delivery and sure enough it was delivered that afternoon and my husband was thrilled. The cherry on top is that it is a beautiful, sturdy little chair that my husband is delighted with.

Excellent customer service

Ordered the tub chair at the weekend. They phoned Monday but I missed the call and phoned them back. Answered in two rings. We agreed delivery for today. Had to phone them before it came and they answered in two rings again. Chair is fab and so is their customer service. Will use again for sure.

Clinic Seating - Amazing service & sofa

I ordered the - Olivia Passione Ivory PAS2706 Velvet Fabric Shell 2 Seater Tub Sofa & x2 matching single chairs for my clinic.
Service was amazing for delivery when explained they were for my opening & they look beautiful in my reception & consultation areas.
I have just ordered another of the above to add to my clinic ! & when I complete my other treatment rooms will be back again :)

Beautiful furniture and friendly customer service team

I ordered a chair and small sofa back in feb/march, and wanted to try them out for a month or so to give an honest review of this company.
The customer service team were very friendly and helpful when organising the delivery date.
The products I received are beautiful, in perfect condition and are still as good as new, even after a couple of months of constant use. Definitely worth the price I paid for them.
I wish my flat was bigger so that I could purchase more of their products! have recommended them to all of my friends and family. Thank you again for my lovely furniture!

Beautiful chair and very well manufactured

Beautiful chair and very well manufactured, really delighted with it. I deliberated for ages about which website to buy from for an occasional chair and eventually chose Tubz. It wasn't the chair I originally wanted but they had the best reviews so didn't want to take a chance elsewhere. Chair was about a week or so late for delivery but arrived and really happy with it. The seat itself isn't very comfy as it's quite hard but hopefully it will soften in time. If you're looking for a soft seat then maybe this isn't the one for you but it looks great!

My experience has been one frustration after another, but..

I ordered a chair from this company 7 1/2 weeks ago. They advertise delivery in 2-4 weeks.

I still don’t have it.

Week 1: The website states they won’t be offering the normal order progress updates but customers can email queries. As it wasn’t clear if the chair was in stock or would take the 2-4 weeks I asked via email. I also informed them I’m disabled and would need clear information about delivery etc. The reply was confirmation of a 2-4 week delivery time and stated I’d be notified with next day delivery info ‘as soon as it’s boxed’. It also said I could email at week 3 to check progress if I hadn’t heard from them. Cool. So far so good.

Week 3: Nothing from Tubz so I emailed to check progress and got a ‘we’re having supply problems and running right up to the 4 weeks, and in some cases just over into 5 weeks’ reply. Not great but these things happen sometimes.

End of week 6: Still no word from Tubz so I rang in just after 4 pm. The website wrongly states office hours are 9-5, (even when you click the ‘covid update’). If you ring in after 4 you get a recording that says office hours are 10-4, call back or leave a message. I phoned next morning and spoke with Annie. She couldn’t give an answer but would get back to me later. Instead of calling, she sent an email with the standard ‘sorry, it’s late due to supply issues’, and the production manager ‘estimates delivery toward the end of next week’. So another week to wait, and the same vague reply with no clear idea of when to expect the chair.

Week 7: I finally got a voicemail on Tuesday, after 5 pm, to ring and arrange for "next working day delivery". As they were already shut, I couldn’t start the delivery process until Wednesday, normally no problem, except I was then told it could take up to 3 days. Since the 3 day window would take it to the following Monday, it could be nearly another week. When I asked why the website and voicemail said ‘next day’ she said ‘the information on the website says that some areas in Scotland take longer’. Those areas are Highlands and Grampians, which I am south of. Central Scotland is NOT in the 3 day zone. When I told her, the reply felt like a pass the buck excuse: ‘it’s the courier, we have no control over it'. Add to that, the courier (DX Freight) only give a 30 minute update of delivery. As that wasn’t acceptable to me she said she could change the courier to DPD I’d get text updates of when to expect delivery. Why not start default with DPD? It’s clearly better at updating customers as it doesn’t leave us sat waiting (possibly) 3 days for a 30 minute heads up. They may not have control of the courier but they have control over which one they choose and they do control the misleading and inaccurate information on their website. Why not give honest, clear, updated information? They don’t have to.
As I found in belated reading of their full Terms and Conditions, they are not responsible for the accuracy of information on their website and customers should not base any decisions on that information, (seriously? what other info can we base decisions on when it's ONLINE shopping?). Additionally, they can change it, including pricing, after customers make their order. So the information she kept referring to may or may not even be accurate and can change at any time, without notice, even after an order has been placed!

My experience has left me frustrated, annoyed and wishing I’d gone with a different company.

So buyer beware, even now, when they have known ‘supply problems’, they still show a 2-4 week delivery time for that particular chair and still show their office hours as 9-5.

At time of writing I can't recommend this company.

Update:
The chair arrived today, but there is damage to the faux leather. There are also staples left sticking up on the bottom. The box had a hole in the bottom so it's possible the damage was caused by the courier. I have been in touch with Tubz and am waiting for a reply. More frustration...

Further update:
Kim has got in touch and apologised for the lack of communication and delay in my order. She was very helpful, courteous and genuinely sorry for the delay supply issues have caused. She also expressed regret that I'd fallen through the gap in terms of communication and updates. I greatly appreciate being treated respectfully.
A replacement chair will be sent as soon as it's completed and meantime I can use the damaged one. Kim's care of my issue and her desire to resolve the problems have gone a long way to changing how I feel about my overall experience. I will give a final update when the replacement chair arrives.

Exceptional customer service

I ordered for work over 20 tub chairs.
The whole process was done over the phone with a lady called Kim.
I was quoted 5-10 days delivery once they had been paid but unfortunately the leather had been held in customs which added a few days on but Kim kept in touch on a regular basis about how the delay was going. Clearly this short delay was not their fault.
The chairs arrived last week and they are made to a very high standard and exceptional standard for the money paid. Well done Tubz Uk and thank you Kim.
Highly recommended.

Lovely chair but frustrating process

Was very excited to find this website as had been looking for a tub sofa for a while, it is made in the UK and the prices were reasonable. Ordered and got an email which said 5-10 days for delivery which was great! Communication then got muddled as my emails apparently weren't received and it was almost impossible to get through on the phone. Also had issues with delivery but I appreciate that is down to the courier, not the company so cannot hold this against them, especially as they promised to investigate.

To cut a long story short, the chair arrived almost a month after it was ordered and it was smaller than expected. I did get a call from customer service which I really appreciated and the lady empathised and apologised. She advised that I could return the chair if I was unhappy but it is nice quality and as the whole process was frustrating and I had waited a while, I decided to keep it. It would have been nice if I was offered a small refund as a gesture to compensate for the experience and that would have lead to a 4 star review as it would have made me feel more valued.

Overall, the chair is lovely (if a bit small) and the customer service was helpful and polite but unfortunately, there were too many hiccups for me to leave higher than 3 stars.

Friendly Customer Service & Great Product

A really lovely and friendly company to deal with. Ordered several samples which came next day. Wanted two tub chairs and one footstool which wasn’t on website so ended up having to telephone my order through. Very friendly customer service lady. Was told my “made to order” would take approximately 4 weeks. Chairs arrived as they said four weeks later and I couldn’t be more happy. Very good quality. Would definitely recommend.

Great customer service, price and quality

I wanted a descent chair but didn’t wanted to pay hundreds of pounds. I’ve had poor experiences with chairs from Wayfair (terrible quality even for a couple of hundred quid). I found this Nottingham company (where I’m originally from) and ordered a (made to order) faux leather tub chair for my music room. All I can say is that their communications are excellent and they have been good to their word from the start. The item itself looks excellent and is well built and comfortable. Very happy!
