CHECK YOUR DEPOSIT RECEIPTS

Went thru the Umqua bank (now Columbia) drive thru in Port Angeles had two deposits going into the same account, same time, same deposit bag and yet one deposit went into a totally unknown account? Still trying to get my money back into the right account as I am being bounced from corporate to local and then back to corporate. Told "I should check my receipts".

tried to open a business account..

tried to open a business account... everything went wrong and every time they tried to fix it, it got worse...short version when they proudly noted everything was finally correct, when we opened my account on the rep's computer at the branch... I had complete online access to a business account problem was it was somebody else's business... run the other way as fast as you can...

Horrible customer service

Horrible customer service. Charged me $251 for 6 overdraft. 4 of which was laundry. $2 transactions etc. Marysville branch manager is very dishonest. Paid the overdraft, the they closed my account because of a personal vendetta they have over me. They stole $70 from me. Charged me for services not tendered. Horrible customer service. Avoid this bank especially the Marysville branch. That's the low IQ branch, only the low IQ are hired, branch manager proves that. Liars and thieves is what this bank should be called

Subject: Formal Complaint – Employee Misconduct, Harassment, and Defamation

To Whom It May Concern,

I am formally requesting immediate action regarding a serious incident that occurred at your Umpqua Bank branch located at 475 NE Windy Knolls Dr, Bend, Oregon.

While I was legally parked on a public roadway across the street from the bank, minding my own business and not interacting with anyone, one of your employees began photographing me from multiple angles, even stepping off your property in an apparent attempt to get closer shots. Approximately 20 minutes later, law enforcement arrived because this employee had called the police.

I have video evidence of the responding officers stating that your employee claimed I was “hacking” or attempting to hack your ATMs. This is a completely false, defamatory, and harmful accusation.

Such conduct constitutes harassment and defamation, and it caused me unnecessary distress and public embarrassment. If this matter is not addressed immediately, including the termination of the employee responsible, I will have no choice but to pursue legal remedies for damages.

I expect a prompt written response confirming the actions you are taking.

I wish there were a way to give a zero…

I wish there were a way to give a zero star review, though Umpqua Bank deserves a negative number of stars. I have never seen more incompetence in a banking institution than this one. Federal regulators should force the sale of this bank to a larger one, like Chase, and upon the closing of the deal the entire IT staff of Umpqua should be fired and banned from working in tech ever again. Every week there are problems with their systems and I can't get my business done. What a dumpster fire.

Umpqua Bank in Bend is Aweful

The Umpqua bank in South end of Bend is awful. Customer service is horrible and incompetent. Been now 5 times trying to close an account! They give every reason after doing exactly what they tell you and the story changes! Now have an attorney involved.
They get your money and good luck getting out! No one can give a straight answer.
For a bank they are the worst you can expect.
You go in and 4 will be doing nothing or eating at a teller station while one is handling a line.
Manger should be embarrassed and fired!!

I was debanked

Well, some of what happened might be my fault; I picked this bank because they were in my neighborhood and had just got in trouble with the gov for enabling money laundering. I felt sorry for them. Jump forward 2 years later and I received letter from them informing me all my accounts were being closed no explanation. I went in to close my account and get my funds but they wouldn’t give me my money. Even though they disabled my auto pays it still tried so for that reason no auto pay and no money of mine for me for now. Best part, while I sat there for 45 minutes the teller tried to sign me up to get a credit card from them. Nice day all the way around.

It's like they don't want my money

We had the best experience from Columbia bank, then it got acquired by Umpqua and things have gone from bad to worse. We have a commercial property that we've owned and for over a decade without a single missed payment or hiccup whatsoever. We are trying to refinance with Umpqua and it's literally like they don't want our money. I'm hoping some other bank reads this would like a $1M mortgage payment with an amazing business and operators.

ever since they took over Columbia…

ever since they took over Columbia bank, they have absolutely ruined it, can't use app anymore, can't use Microsoft edge, so i suppose i am supposed to guess how much is all 5 of my accounts and any one time. don't waste your time with this bank, using a mattress would even be better

Worst Bank, Policies and Customer Service

Worst policies, fees and customer service I’ve ever dealt with! The turnover at the Ponderay, ID branch is unbelievable! The manager is never available, rarely there!
They have botched numerous transactions for me, one a $65,000 wire transfer.
My debit card has randomly been shut off for security/suspicious activity. It’s very arbitrary and sporadic. Happened twice recently and my debit usage was way under the $3,000 a day limit?! The bank people don’t seem to care!
My card was shut off over an annual $100 Xmas gift certificate. A text asked “4 DAYS LATER” if it was a legitimate purchase, and if so the transaction had been cancelled and would need to be resubmitted. This made the gift certificate late for Cmas and ended up sending “TWO” $100 gift certificates. Their system is flawed, broken, redundant and useless. And they “DO NOT CARE”!
This has happened numerous times ans always under the $3,000 limit and randomly, no consistency! Again, “They Don’t Care!”
“DO NOT TELL ME HOW AND WHERE TO SPEND MY MONEY!”
Their fees are ridiculous and expensive to the point there’s going to be a breathing fee in the lobby. I had a significant deposit and was treated like someone off the street until I made a little noise.
I have a lot of family and friends in my area and will tell all and anybody about this nonsense. I wouldn’t trust these hacks with any amount of money. My new bank is a credit union, been in there twice and they already know my name. And no fees for anything!!!!

UMPQUA COMMERCIAL - BAD FOR BUSINESSES

Their commercial banking option is the worst I have ever experienced. Am a licensed bookkeeper working for law firms and while their Business Banking option is sound, the commercial banking option reports inaccurate transactions, is cumbersome and almost impossible to work with. DON'T SWITCH TO UMPQUA if you are a business.

My 82 yr old mom ripped off …

My 82 yr old mom had a Straight talk phone service and when Verizon took them over her phone stopped working. She could not access that account because Verizon demanded a 4 digit pin that never existed. In asking how we could stop the automated withdrawal Straight talk told us to cancel with the bank. So we canceled the card. The charge went through anyway. The card had not been canceled so I canceled it again. The next month she was charged again! Apparently Umpqua, Visa and big merchants have a deal that even though you cancel the card they are paid. Supposedly this is so people don’t have to renter new card information to these merchants. I even turned this into the fraud department to be denied! She is having to close her account (she has had about 30 years) to stop them giving her money away!!
BEWARE!! Just because you cancel your card does not mean that Umpqua can’t pick and choose who gets paid. Their relationship with the other companies is much more important then the customers!!!
Shame on UMPQUA!!!

Worst bank I've dealt with!

This is BY FAR the wost bank I've ever worked with! Their online banking system is worthless and when you call in it takes forever to connect with someone and then if they are able to help you are extremel lucky! I'm so tired of the poor service at this bank but I have an SBA loan through them and don't know if I can transfer this to another bank.

Worst Experience

Took this bank ten days to resolve a bank error charge on my account. They also couldn't get a correct form to pay off a line of credit over to another bank for a HELOC with that other bank. In the process I lost the HELOC due to Umpquas inability to resolve the bank error charge on my account in a timely manner. Moved all my accounts to a local credit union. Do not bank here.

Worst bank I have ever dealt with

Worst bank I have ever dealt with. First of all they charged me 75 bucks for 2 books of checks. My other bank never charged me a penny. Second I have two accounts that both have freezes on bill pay. I tried calling the automated number 6 times and was disconnected every time. I asked Umpqua bank to take care of this and they won't. Horrible customer service. Nobody knows how to take care of issues and they just send you to an automated number. I'm surprised they are still in business.

What can I say that hasn't been said!

What can I say that hasn't been said, well I was told my available balance isn't available, and I had to show proof the incoming transfer was in my name, so showed them proof and they then restricted my account. I am a 100% service-connected army veteran and it was disability from my sofi account. 2 days later I have still yet to receive my deposit. They have been extremely rude and dishonest, I'm appalled and closing my account. Customers everywhere beware and avoid this bank at all costs. The Coos bay Umpqua bank is by far the worst institution Ive ever banked with. Veteran's everywhere avoid and boycott this aweful place. They treated me like a bum.

Bank with Umpqua if you want to…

Bank with Umpqua if you want to suddenly not have access to your money because "a long a holiday weekend can slow down their system." I woke up today and my account info is completely missing from the site upon logging in. No account number, no balance.

I go to the bank to speak to someone and the best they can tell me is that Memorial Day weekend caused an issue with their system and they can't tell me when I'll be able to view my account again. They said I should use another card in the meantime. The person helping me chuckled at the end as they shrugged and said that they'll have to deal with this issue now too.

Everything about this bank - including their customer service, website and policies are outdated and dysfunctional. It took me three messages to change my address when I moved. They finally upped their limit of $300 Zelle transactions to $500 - laughable. I didn't even know there were transaction limits at my other banks.

Just go with another bank where they at least pretend to care about your money.

I was with Columbia for over 30 years…

I was with Columbia for over 30 years with few issues. Since the merger with Umpqua the customer service has been extremely rude and just plain mean. I would contact corporate but seems they don't care based on reviews since merger
