I would strongly caution anyone considering finance through V12 Vehicle Finance, particularly when it involves independent used car dealers.

I purchased a vehicle via V12 in November 2024 from Prestige Cars LDN, and within two months, the car became completely undrivable due to serious mechanical faults: leaking water pump, faulty thermostat, engine misfire, fuel-contaminated oil, and a suspected head gasket failure. A local mechanic and a V12-appointed engineer both confirmed that the vehicle was not of satisfactory quality.

Despite this, V12 refused to process a rejection of the vehicle and instead insisted I pursue repairs — either at my own expense or through the original dealer, who had already ghosted me and is now the subject of a County Court Judgment (CCJ). I won that judgment, but the dealer has still refused to pay, and V12 has continued to delay any resolution.

To date:

I’ve paid over £7,000 in finance, tax, insurance, and legal fees on a car I cannot drive.

The vehicle has sat in a garage for months, while I’ve missed work and income (I’m self-employed).

V12 has misrepresented my consumer rights, suggesting I had “only two options” when I was entitled to reject the vehicle outright under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Their communication has been slow, evasive, and dismissive. I’ve received vague “we’re still investigating” messages while being offered no actual solutions.

I’ve now had to escalate the matter to the Financial Ombudsman Service, who are investigating (Ref: PNX-5607654-S7G0).

I understand that V12 is technically not the seller, but as the finance provider, they are responsible under UK consumer law for ensuring the goods financed are of satisfactory quality. In this case, they failed to act, ignored their own engineer’s findings, and offered little more than delay tactics.

I’m not someone who complains lightly. I went to court. I collected evidence. I followed every official process. And still, I'm out of pocket, without a car, and chasing accountability while V12 continues to stall.

Be cautious. Read everything. And be prepared for a long road if things go wrong — because V12 won’t be there to support you.

Edit : As of 22.05.2025 i have not been contacted from anyone and not a single response to my 3 or 4 emails that i have sent to v12 vehicle finance or to Secure Trust Bank . 0 .

Repeatedly call me from an auto-dialler, and then because there is no-one there to pick the call up, the line goes dead. AVOID.

Trustpilot has often prevented me from making a mistake anbd giving business to untrustworthy comnpanies or people.
