The product (hard anodized 5 degree transom wedges and washers) appear very well made. These were the only ones of the wedges I looked at that were available with a hard anodized finish. They were a bit more money with this finish, but having had experience with hard anodize in my job, I believe that it was the best option for the brackish and occasional salt water environment my boat will be in.

Quick & Easy purchase, exactly what was described.

Product was shipped timely, well wrapped and appears to be very high quality. I am giving this only three stars for two reasons. First, Mr. Vance did not reply to my emails regarding general and somewhat technical questions after our first conversation. Second, the transom reinforcement plate was drilled incorrectly and it took quite a bit of time to undo the complications related to discovering this after trying to mate it up to the transom several times. I assumed the holes had been drilled out on a jig with BIA standard hole locations. You know what happens when you assume things. This caused a couple of extra hours to the process - primarily because it meant passing the plate through the back seat several times, navigating around wiring and plumbing. Regardless, I would buy products from this company again. The manual jack plate i bought enabled me to raise the height of my motor to where it needs to be and with only a 3 inch setback, and the operation of the manual jack plate is smooth.

You get what you pay for. There are cheaper jackplates available but the quality of Vance's jackplates are far superior. Works perfectly!

I needed 4 inches of lift for my outboard and with the jack plate at full lift, my motor is still 2 inches too low

I mounted the Vance DDPL-001 Static Drop Down Plate mounted my motor on the highest possible position for a starting position figured I would need to lower it a hole or two, but it was too low and the motor was flooded with water because it was so low, it was so low it wouldn't even get up on plane, now it has a knock in the motor, I messaged Vance last week about it, asking how I could raise the motor more but never got a reply back, now my motor has a broken rod :-(
