Why would vanilla gift card reply to my 1 star review, letting me know they will email me, when I have not received any emails from them as of right now? Please stop trying to make it seem like you care!!! Vanilla gift card is a ripoff! Please, do not ever purchase a vanilla gift card!!! You might as well throw your money in the garbage! Same difference!

Worthless gift card.

You will never be able to add this card to purchase anything online. It won't work when added to Google Pay. Paypal doesn't accept it. Samsung and Google Wallet doesn't accept it. It is denied every time. If you are given this card, congrats, it is completely worthless. It would be better for a company to give you literal dirt, cause at the very least it would be useful for growing something, while this card has and will never be able to provide you any value whatsoever. Good luck finding anywhere that will accept this garbage. And since you were given this card, the company's customer service will be of no help to you, since they will only want a receipt of purchase from you. A receipt of a "gift" that you did not purchase. Great going guys.

Super easy to use and very convenient…

Super easy to use and very convenient to do right from my office and not go to a retail store. The option to enter a specific amount for the gift card is the main reason I chose to use Vanillagift.com.

SCAM SCAM SCAM!

I wish I could give 0 stars because that is what this sham of a company deserves. I have received two 100.00 cards over the last few years and decided I needed to use them before the expiration date listed on the cards. I registered the cards on their website and attempted to make a purchase from an online vendor. The purchase was declined three times. Their customer service offered my no help to determine the cause. I have attempted several orders with Amazon and they have all been declined. Then magically one went through! There really should be a class action lawsuit brought against this company. Perhaps I should be the one to do so.

I purchased a Vanilla Gift Card for my mother who lives in California. I provided the receipt to her. She took the card to Ralph's and the gift card was for 100.00. The clerk said that she only had 50.00 available to use. She used her debit card instead and I started calling support to find out what had happened. This was a year ago, so I contacted them and went through the story . They told me that someone would get back to me. It has been six months and have heard nothing. No Call or Email. The card is unusable because there is an open issue but you can never get anyone on the phone and they don't respond to emails. Don't buy this card as you will end up like me having a useless Vanilla card.

Do NOT WASTE your time or money on Vanilla Gift card. ITS NOT ACCEPTED to buy normal items
The card is activated, but it’s still not usable. I keep getting payment is declined. This is a rip off this card used to be good many many years ago, but not now a days. I’m going to have to contact customer support waste more time on bullshit with this company.
I’m furious !

I tried to use it for an online transaction, the card was locked, they told me that they would mail me a card within 10 business days… They said it was a protective measure, but it certainly sounds like a more restrictive measure

I bought a card for the use to buy…MEDICATION

I bought a card for the use to buy medication I was having delivered. The card was compromised with 140 on it and I have to wait two weeks to get said card in the mail as a replacement. I am diabetic I do not have 14;days and the very caring supervisor could careless. This is the most outrageous thing I've ever experienced.

Why can I not use my gift card any way I want!? Why does this company decline everything online!? Google play is a restricted vendor!? GOOGLE PLAY!? It's not your money why do you need to control and restrict the way it's spent!? Boycott Vanilla! I will never buy one again and will tell everyone I know to never use them! Customer service is a joke btw....

Bought $100 VanillaGift.com card for a…

Bought $100 VanillaGift.com card for a friend. It was immediately rejected - twice. She NEVER used it but it had a zero balance on it. Card never left her wallet. VanillaGift.com dispute said they could do nothing because the vendors where it was used by someone else won't REIMBURSE them, so I'm out $100. They KNOW people steal these numbers and use them. ZERO security. DO NOT BUY THESE CARDS. YOU'RE BUYING GIFT CARDS WITH A ZERO BALANCE REGARDLESS OF HOW MUCH YOU PUT ON THEM. VANILLAGIFT.COM handles desputes by saying "too bad, sorry, investigated and you're out $100".
4/17/26 - WHAT A JOKE Vanilla Gift cards is! DO NOT USE THEM. They lie - their REPLY was "too bad, nothing we can do". THAT was their "update".
I was told 3 different times they were 'investigating' this fraud. On the 4th call, I was told "the dispute was not resolved in your favor".
This gift card NEVER LEFT THIS PERSON'S WALLET. IT was with HER, and only her, the entire time. Who ever had this number - and used it around Boston - used it while she was in China visiting relatives. So there was NO WAY she or anyone ELSE used this card IN PERSON.
The FIRST time she went to use it, rejected. When she checked there were 6 transactions and the balance was $0.00. The useless support person at VanillaGift support INSISTED the purchases were made IN-PERSON WITH THE CARD SO THEY WERE NOT RESPONSIBLE. THAT IS A LIE. To make purchases in-person, that person would need to hand the card to the cashier, and since that person DID NOT have the card, there was NO WAY the card was used IN-PERSON...the purchases were made ONLINE...I do not think ANY establishment will simply accept someone TELLING them a random cc number. Presumably people are copying down the numbers of gift cards in stores - waiting for them to be activated - then making purchases ONLINE and spending down the card WITHOUT the REAL owner having any idea UNTIL they go to use the card themselves.
Check Google: this is a KNOWN PROBLEM. Once activated there IS no security and VanillaGift couldn't care less. Their 'support' are people in India who don't speak English who will make up whatever lie they need to to make you go away without them paying a dime. Took them 2 MONTHS before LYING and telling me 'too bad, nothing we can do'.
Garbage card, do not buy these things. It's a scam.

*** UPDATE *** Note how their reply gives the impression they care and are still investigating the fraud. This is a a lie. WEEKS AGO they emailed and I spoke to someone there who said they closed the case - NOT in my favor - and there was NOTHING they could do Yet, they post a reply making it sound like they are looking into this fraud when they are NOT.
I asked a rep repeatedly what their 'investigating' involved, FINALLY one said they call the vendors where the fraudulent transactions occurred and ASK THEM to refund the fraudulent purchases. When they refuse, they close the 'investigation'. Who knows if the vendors do or don't refund - maybe they do and VanillaGift.com just keeps that money too. When you BUY a Vanilla GIftcard you might be buying a card ALREADY spent to $0.00 OR soon will be before you get a chance to use it

THE CARD IS JUNK: Customer Service is the Absolute worst

Customer Service is the absolute worst i have ever dealt with. I've been waiting for 50 days for my card to be reimbursed after it was frauded in another province, and now my wait time is, 90 days. "Famous line "please wait and give us enough time to investigate the issue" Im sure if I owed them money they would not wait 90 days.. Never once in the 50 days I've already been waiting has the company reached out to me to provide a update. I have made 5 calls to them to follow up and always the same bs. They may of got my $500. this time but BUYER BEWARE: The other card i bought had nothing but problems, they say it's good now but we will see when i go to use it. The other prepaids I had bought at the same time, most places they don't work. I did not know someone could fraud your prepaid card. I thought that was the good thing about these prepaid credit cards once the money has been paid to them it was available on the card. NOT THE CASE. I would strongly advise anyone thinking of buying theses card do not waste your time.

You can't attach a billing address to the card, and most merchants online require one. I bought one and I couldn't purchase anything even on Amazon! Just astonishing how they didn't think this through. Customer service wasn't too bad and I got a check in the mail, but now I have to go out of my way to cash the check at the bank and had to wait a few days for the check to ship to my house so I essentially wasted a week of my time for no reason.
