Habe einen Tongsheng tsdz8 bei Amazon gekauft, August 2025, bei Greenenergia Eu, Motor nach 3500km defekt, Kabelbaum defekt, Controller defekt, Innen komplett verrostet, war Null Fett drin, desweiteren unterstützt der Motor in jeder Stufe gleich, sogar in Stufe 0, Austausch Controller das gleiche, neuer Motor, das gleiche, Verkäufer ist über Amazon aktuell nicht mehr zu erreichen !!! Finger weg von diesem Motor.

I do not recommend this company, I complained about the left handle when ordering VS5483, unfortunately no one communicates with me. Another order VS5696 arrived with a long delay of about 14 days.Another order VS5804 created on 6.4. arrived only battery without motor is 18.4.

In January 2026, I purchased three separate Varstrom kits: a 250W, a 500W and a 750W. What should have been a straightforward purchase has turned into repeated faults, repeated delays and repeated disappointment.

The problems have not been limited to one item. We have had:

1. a battery fault where the switch did not properly isolate power,
2. a throttle fault that stuck ON and later failed with Error 4,
3. long delays and a lot of chasing to get replacement parts sent out.

Now the latest issue concerns the 750W TSDZ8 kit. On the first outing since the throttle replacement, the motor made a loud creaking noise while pedalling and then started slipping under load when climbing, even in a low gear. It sounded like the gears/cogs were grinding. That is plainly not normal behaviour for a new or replacement motor.

This latest 750W motor fault has been reported, and so far it has simply been ignored.

At this point, this no longer looks like bad luck or a one-off issue. It looks like a pattern: faulty products, poor reliability, and after-sales support that is slow, reactive and ultimately ineffective.

We bought three kits in good faith and have spent far too much time dealing with faults instead of actually using the bikes.

I will update this review if Varstrom finally deal with the 750W motor issue properly.

As things stand, based on my experience across all three kits, I would strongly advise others to think very carefully before buying.

No answers to my emails after 3 reminders and 10 days passed, after WhatsApp messages, web chats....

From a technical standpoint, I would like to clarify the following:

1. Mechanical compatibility:

confirmation of TSDZ16 compatibility with the existing bottom brackets (BSA 68–73 mm);
potential chainstay interference (especially on the Super Bow – “bow frame” design);
solutions for chain alignment (chainline optimization for a 1x setup).

2. Electrical integration:

recommended battery type (cell type, BMS, max continuous current – considering the TSDZ16 controller ~30A);

Considering the technical specifications and geometry of the bicycles, are 52V 20 Ah batteries suitable? ;

connector / wiring compatibility / waterproofing considerations.

3. Performance & usage:

load behavior for a ~100 kg rider + long climbs;
recommendations for current limiting (e.g. 25A vs 30A vs 35A) for reliability;

drivetrain recommendations (chainring, cassette, chain wear).

There are different Chain Wheel sizes to purchase compatible with tsdz16? what would these be ?

The battery was delayed in shipping out. Also, the shipper sent bulk email breakinng GDPR rules.
There was no installation manual, so goodluck with building it.

I will not recommend for anyone

I’m extremely disappointed with this company’s handling of personal data and their complete lack of response.
On April 10th, 2026, I received an email from them where my personal email address — along with several other customers’ addresses — was visible in the “To” field instead of being properly hidden using Bcc. This is a clear breach of GDPR and a serious failure to protect customer information.
What’s even more concerning is that I have sent multiple emails to raise this issue and have received no response whatsoever. No acknowledgement, no explanation, and no attempt to resolve the situation.
This level of negligence regarding data protection, combined with poor customer service, is disappointing.
I would strongly advise others to be cautious when dealing with this company.

Very good experience: I ordered the wrong thing (my fault), and they arranged the return without issue, they even covered the shipping fee and refunded me as soon as I had posted the package. Highly recommended.

Made an order for a bafang er bike conversion kit for my bella bike, they shipped the battery from France and i got i fairly quick but when i only received a Battery i though it was a scam, i contacted bafang and they shipped the rest of the ebike kitt from China. In under 2 weeks i got everything and for about 40% of the Danish prices. I would gladly recommend. If you are buying to a 3 wheeler, get an extension cable for the speed sensor.

Fast shipping times and great shipping companies are used.
I ordered 2 motors one had a squished battery cable.
I contacted Varstrom via Whatsapp and got a replacement after just a few days.
Sadly the new controller came without a new gasket which broke during disassembly.
Contacted them about this via Whatsapp again and it was taken care of.
Both motors are running.
Sometimes there is a bit of delay but just message them again and there will be someone to help you.

My ebike conversion kit arrive quite promptly and communication was great up until I received my kit. From then on there was no communication. Even though the emails I received stated that customer support was available and they would be on hand to assist with any problems I found that they did not respond at all. WhatsApp messages and email got no response, not even an automated bot reply. The Web chat is a simple bot chat with the usual stock answers and is no help at all.
I plan to do another ebike conversion but I will definitely avoid Varstrom for buying the kit.
The reply here offering help is welcome but Varstrom already has my order number and support request as I sent an email to the contact email listed on their website.

Service après vente déplorable voir inexistant. J’ai commandé un premier moteur tsdz16 qui devait avoir un défaut car il a cassé au bout de 30 kilomètres. Il leur a fallu deux semaines pour finalement simplement me donner une étiquette de retour, puis plus de nouvelle pendant 2 semaines et encore deux semaines plus tard ils ont finalement pris la décision de me renvoyer un moteur neuf. Ce qui leur a pris encore 1 semaine pour me l’envoyer. Donc ça finit bien mais attendez vous pas à de la réactivité de leur part si vous avez besoin d’eux. (Moteur reçu le 29 janvier monté le 3 février cassé le 3 février étiquette de retour reçu le 12 février, envoyé le jour même, premier retour après qu’ils aient reçu le moteur le 25 février, prise de décision de m’envoyer un nouveau moteur le 10 mars, nouveau moteur reçu le 19 mars)

I ordered a hub motor kit and after a couple of days they emailed me saying that the motor is out of stock and wondered if i wanted to wait. I told them no and to cancel my order. Got a confirmation that they would. I waited 2 weeks without anything happening. Emailed them and asked them again to cancel, no reply. Contacted them on their site, no reply. Another 2 weeks later i got a mail that they had sent me the motor. Mailed them back saying that i don't want it anymore since i had already bought another one, no reply. Don't buy anything from them.

Attention ce site n'assure aucun SAV. J'ai commandé une batterie avec un moteur. Les clés de la batterie ne fonctionnent pas. J'ai envoyé environ 10 messages en 15 jours et aucun retour de leur part. C'est lamentable.

Så snart det kommer til en garanti-sag, er der intet svar længere fra dette firma. Hverken på mail, eller gennem deres chat. Så spar de penge og køb direkte på Aliexpress. Der er der heller ingen garanti, men man får en bedre pris.

Varstrom contacted me via WhatsApp in response to the original post below and apologized for the slow reply. They identified the problem and shipped a set of spacers at no charge.

Original: After purchasing a Bafang conversion kit from Varstrom and had a question. I tried every contact method available: chat on their website, WhatsApp, Facebook and the email address listed on their website (it bounced). Zero response after several days.

commande passée le 30/01/26 sur le site de Varstrom, 630€, le colis est bloqué par la douane en italie depuis le 5/02 car il a semble-t-il été mal emballé. J'étais un peu inquiet car aucune réponse pendant plusieurs jours: c'étais les vacances!
Le colis a été réexpédié et bien reçu le 04/03, merci,

Deuxième commande faite le 25/01/26 ref VS4976. Première commande impeccable. Deuxième commande dysfonctionnement du kit Moteur Tongsheng TDZ16. 3 mails envoyés aucune réponse. Faux numéros indiqués sur leur site et WhatsApp inexistant.

Experience was great, delivery was swift and effective, everything was packaged as expected with both cardboard and polystyrene blocks, neatly done.

Customer service was also outstanding, offering free of charge an accessory (gear sensor) I unfortunately forgot when I ordered.

The product itself (Tongsheng TSDZ16) is wonderful and works as expected.

All in all would recommend!
