Heute habe ich eine Buchung gemacht über Vrbo. Das war ein betrügerischer Vorgang: über Hometogo.com wurde ich auf ein Angebot von Vrbo.com aufmerksam. Es wurde ein günstiger Preis angezeigt. Als ich dann die Buchung machen wollte, wurde der Buchungsprozess unterbrochen, ich konnte die Buchung nicht bezahlen. Ich verwendete drei verschiedene Kreditkarten und nichts funktionierte. Dann drückte ich auf "Seite neu laden" und auf einmal erschien mir ein um 33% höherer Preis. Ich war so blöd und schloss die Buchung ab, zu dem hohen Preis. Das hätte ich natürlich nicht tun sollen. Tja, einfach reingefallen. Das Support-Team stellte sich hilflos, sie könnten in dem Fall nichts tun. Ich sollte den Vermieter um eine Preisreduzierung bitten, was für ein jämmerlicher Support.

Ojo con ésta web de reservas. Opera en dólares y si cancelas, aunque te devuelvan el 100%, te harán la devolución en dólares y puedes tener una pérdida importante debido al cambio con tu moneda. Lo peor es que no informa de ello, al menos en mi caso.
Let down last minute holiday rental
Booked holiday rental in Spain. No contact from host regarding access. Had to find alternative accommodation from the airport for our family. Very stressful, and one week on still awaiting refund from VRBO. Very poor customer service - feel very let down, not the holiday we had arranged. No confidence in Vrbo’s security guarantee

Don't trust the reviews on their website. After a bad experience, I tried to leave a review of the apartment I rented for two days so that it would be visible to everyone, but it was absolutely impossible. And no one on their website was available to help me. It's pretty clear they don't want negative reviews.

I have been a customer for over 20 years, back when you called the number and the owner answered. Yup, that long ago! My listing was recently removed without a refund for the balance of the $699.00 annual subscription. Vrbo said it was due to too few rentals. For three years we were under repair and rebuild from hurricane Ian, helene and Milton. We could not rent as our whole property was in shambles. And really why do they care, I paid my subscription each and every year. They also informed me i would never be able to relist once they took me off. I filed a complaint with them and got a case number but never heard a word. Very disappointed in this company and I have even been in contact with several people that have explained their troubles with them as well. What's UP VRBO???

Avoid Vrbo! This advice is based on our harrowing experience where a Vrbo owner asked us to come off the Vrbo site and deal directly with him. We reported this activity to Vrbo, with supporting evidence of the owners violation of Vrbo policy. Vrbo told us that the owner had previously violated this policy and had been warned of his behaviour. Despite this, Vrbo still chose to support the owner. Vrbo stands for Vacation Rental By Owner - that says it all!
Our key mistake was not to record the phone call of the owner asking us to come off the Vrbo site. Please don’t make the same mistake - record everything - especially phone calls! We were first time users of Vrbo - it will be our last - never again!
Our Vrbo experience does not reflect well on parent company Expedia either!!

Har booket, betalt og fået bekræftelse på 8 personers hus i Sydfrankrig fra på lørdag. VRBO kan ikke finde vores booking og har UDSAT, UDSAT, UDSAT vores deadline for svar. Nu kan man ikke komme i kontakt med VRBO, som åbenbart blot er ude på at stjæle 32.000,- fra os. Hvordan kan man bedst muligt komme efter sådan et fup-firma???
Don’t book a property through VRBO!
I am an owner with properties on this site. Their charges are eye watering and their customer service appalling at every level. Find a property on this website if you must but then use clues in the Ad to hunt down the owners direct and book that way instead. Your life will be better, and richer for it!
VRBO worst service
As an owner VRBO is the worst company to deal with , customer service is shocking. They have changed policies in my account to suit themselves or to showcase themselves looking good. For example I had a policy on this website that clearly stated 30-60 days full refund and 15-30 50% refund but they have sent all guests a contract showing 14 days full refund , we only learned this recently when a guest wanted to cancel 14 days fire their arrival during peak season. We rely entirely on peak season bookings. They have changed numerous things on our contract, each time dealing with a call centre in India. So terrible and after years with them I will not be renewing our advert.
Horrendous experience
Booked an apartment for a work conference, all confirmed on the Vrbo app. When I had not had arrival instructions 48 hours prior to check in I contacted the host who said there's an issue with Vrbo calendar not syncing so he was double booked and cancelled my booking. Rang Vrbo, offered £90 discount on a new booking so booked a new one. No arrival info 24 hours before so rang Vrbo and same issue so cancelled. I'm now pursuing compensation so I can book a hotel directly for tomorrow, and phone calls get cut off, emails go unanswered. Avoid at all costs!

If I could give 0 stars I would. Contacted customer service as an owner with an issue with my subscription. Was told that someone would contact me within 24 hours. 4 days later and a follow up phone call from me, still no one has contacted me

As a host, team is very difficult to work with, or simply incompetent.

Depuis 32 jours je réclame le paiement écrit par VRBO ABRITEL de la location de ma maison: il manque 675.68 euros:
le service SAV semble en vacances prolongées:
Depuis 16 jours, pas de nouvelle = service client VRBO absent..
depuis 25 jours une personne m'a téléphoné, mais pas de versement complémentaire
depuis 32 jours toujours pas payée en intégralité de ma location:
séjour HA-JZP5CC du gite 1684601, je devais recevoir 2922.54 euros, le client a bien payé 3334 euros. Je n ai reçu que 2246.86 , j'attends les 675.68 euros qui me sont due et écrite. VRBO-ABRITEL ne respecte pas leurs engagements financiers écrits, tandis que je respecte les miens: le séjour a bien eut lieu.

I wish I had read these reviews before using VRBO. I booked a room and it was $207.
All went well and then later the money advertised was in USD and then converted and charged in AUD. Which I think is a rip off because it was nowhere mentioned or made clear about this. And there is no way of contacting them. So if u want ro save your money and stress for any after sales issue, try to book directly with hotel, I think they would be better in helping.

No recomendable si quieres asegurar tu estancia y no verte en la calle.
Hice reserva en Vrbo con bastante antelación, concretamente el alojamiento llamado "Toledo Ciudad de las Tres Culturas DESAYUNO INCLUIDO" ya que viajaba en puente y una zona con mucha demanda turística y obtuve confirmación inmediata con el oportuno cobro. Para asegurarme que todo procedía (ya que había leído muy malas opiniones), mandé un mensaje al propietario (J Manu) que también me confirma fechas y me comunica que el día anterior a la entrada me enviaría indicaciones. Así que me relajo...
Antes del segundo pago según calendario de Vrbo, el propietario me envía un mensaje y me exige cobro anticipado e inmediatamente ¡me cambia la fecha de la estancia! Aún así sigue insistiendo en que proceda el adelantar mi segundo pago.
Me quedé sin alojamiento a tan solo 2 días de la fecha de entrada. Vrbo permite que el propietario cambie o cancele con plena libertad cuando le dé la gana, algo que suele ocurrir ya que los precios oscilan y en el momento que pueden alquilar más caro, no dudan en hacerlo sin escrúpulos.
La atención de Vrbo otra odisea. A pesar de que me dieron la razón, tuve que hacer muchas llamadas para que me cancelaran, ya que en ese momento era "no reembolsable" y como mucho me ofrecían otras alternativas de alojamiento disponibles (por supuesto mucho más caras y lejos ya que a esas alturas ya todo estaba agotado o inflado de precio). Aunque finalmente me cancelaron, me quedé sin alternativas. Esto es muy grave, en ese momento sabes que o duermes en la calle o te gastas 4 veces más de lo que tenías en tu presupuesto.

If you list your property on Vrbo or are thinking about it - Don’t! Vrbo renters destroyed my home! THEN, to make matters worse, Vrbo took back the 6-week rental payment & security deposit and offered little compensation for $10k+ in damages. When I asked Vrbo how they prevent fraud, they said they check that the booking name matches the credit card. COMPLETE LIE! After the tenant left, I received a « Rate your guest » email and the name was totally different. When I called Vrbo back, they said « Well, it could be a family member. » So essentially, they don’t do any checks and expose all owners to these dangerous & costly risks. If there is any problem, it falls 100% on the owner. Vrbo doesn’t give a damn about you. All they care about is getting their commission. STAY AWAY!

Wow!! Always been an Airbnb customer so decided to try Vrbo. No no no no. Booked our first stay and didnt like that I was charged the full amount up front. Tried to reach the owner about just accepting a deposit, and never heard back so I canceled. Found a new place and asked questions about parking. Once they responded, I had to go to work so tried to book the next day and it showed booked but yet also showed I needed to book more days. Which is it? Lastly, booked another place and was denied because they said they booked out their rental yesterday and forgot to update their listing. Definitely a shady business and looks like 200+ others on this site agree with me. Done with VRBO!

Buyer beware! VRBO rating = Zero! Zero regarding Customer Satisfaction, Honesty, and Integrity. All the necessary items that customers expect. Please refer to previous reviews and the "copy and pasted" responses received from VRBO. This is similar to what has occurred with any other communications with VRBO.

we have just taken an Air B&B with Vrbo, the property was advertised as a beautiful and comfortable 2 bedroom town house in Dona Pepa, Quesada, when we arrived we found it far from the property described, the kitchen is in an appalling state, the oven hob was dirty,as was the oven, the microwave was dirty and rusty, the general cleanliness of the kitchen cabinets and draws had not been cleaned for some time,we found the iron was in an unusable condition, the ironing board was totally broken, the bedding in the main bedroom was ill fitting on the bed making it cold and uncomfortable to sleep in,all in all a very poorly presented property,after contacting Vrbo about this, our complaint was ignored, The Vrbo company all clearly not taking due dillegence on who is post there properties on there website
