Verona Bridal - you’re nothing if you’re nobody

The below report was sent to the designer to explain the experience I had with Verona Bridal.

I felt it was important to give feedback directly to yourselves on the process and service of buying a dress in one of your Northern Ireland stockists. In March 2024 I purchased the Edera dress from Verona Bridal. My experience on the day was lovely. However the experience following this, basically once they got the sale, was average at best. Prior to purchasing the dress, I had lost 13kg (2stone) and explained that I intended to lose another 13kg (2stone). I asked the fitter to send measurements that were a bit smaller to allow for this. The sales assistant said no and that this dress could absolutely be altered to that size and that she would send my (then) current size. I left feeling pleased with this information. 10 days later I contacted Verona bridal to confirm this as I was continuing to lose weight towards my goal. I was again told that this dress could absolutely be altered to that size. I was also told that my dress would be in just after Christmas.
Following this, I received no communication. I contacted the shop multiple times after Christmas to ask for an update with no response a number of times. I eventually managed to get the shop in March time who told me to contact them in April as the dress should be in. I did this and they said they were tracking the dress and told me a date it would ‘definitely’ be in the shop. Therefore, I booked for my mother in law to fly to Northern Ireland to see the dress. On the date that the dress was supposed to come in, I still heard nothing. I tried to contact the store a number of times but received no response. I eventually got a response a week later to tell me another date that the dress would ‘definitely’ be in. The store knew that my mother in law was coming to see the gown and so I booked an appointment for a few days after this next ‘definite’ date. My mother in law arrived and I rang the day before my appointment to confirm things and was told that my dress would not be there. Multiple communications later, they managed to locate my gown and get it there so that she could see it. As explained to the sales assistant, I had intended to lose another 13kg (2stone) and did so. It’s safe to say that the dress was very big on me but I was assured that it could be altered. I took it to the seamstress who was disgusted at this advice. Given the detail on the dress, the seamstress told me that this type of dress should never be majorly altered. The dress had to have really major alterations for it to fit there was a significant cost for it to be altered. I’ve been a very organised and calm bride but I feel that this has left a sour taste in my mouth about the experience. The communication from Verona Bridal was awful. Once they got the sale, it felt like they couldn’t get rid of me any faster. Milla Nova dresses are absolute works of art but I would think carefully if Verona Bridal is going to be a stockist. They promote luxury but really fail to communicate effectively.

I absolutely found my dream dress at…

I absolutely found my dream dress at Verona Bridal - I seen it online, emailed to see if it was in stock and got a quick response to say it was, so I booked an appointment and had a great experience with Maria and picked my dress on that first appointment.

I was told the dress would be in between December and January - (I ordered it in the June prior), but the dress didn't arrive until the following late April. I totally understand this is a common thing with wedding dresses however, some communication from Verona Bridal would have been of benefit. I sent emails to which I received no reply. However, when I finally got through on the phone, I was reassured that it would soon be dispatched and that they would check with the designer - they did follow up on this with the designer and then updated me with a new timeframe.

When I went in May to try the dress on again, I choose a veil - again with Maria, and the appointment was great.

3 weeks before the wedding I rang to ask about the veil - they said they would follow up with the designer - however the next day Verona emailed me and asked which veil I had ordered and I replied to say I wasn't sure as I wasn't made aware of the name/designer - I was just shown three different veils. I tried to describe the veil I had picked, to which they replied via email and stated that they knew which one - this to me suggested that the veil hadn't been ordered even though everything was paid for in May - this was now the second week of July and my wedding was 01.08.2025.

The veil arrived a couple of weeks prior to the wedding. I didn't get in to collect my veil until the day before my wedding due to two sudden illnesses in the family - on the morning of my wedding I opened my veil to find the wrong veil - I emailed Verona Bridal via the same email address they had contacted me on before and explained this - 2 weeks later and I still have no reply. No acknowledgement or explanation as to why I was given the wrong veil.

I understand mistakes happen and I should have had this checked and collected earlier - but I think at the very least I deserved a reply or acknowledgement of their mistake considering the money spent.

Great Bridal Shop - dresses are fab, however, aspects of customer service is in need of attention and maybe just a little bit of common decency -regardless of how much money people are spending.

Avoid if you can.

Be very careful and vigilant signing anything upon ordering / paying / collecting your dress here..
I paid extra for material that never arrived. They ordered incorrect material in the end that wasn't correct and I couldn't use it. Avoided all my calls and emails.
Promise you certain alterations can be done but will never offer a seamstress that can do the work.
Made the whole process very stressful for me.
Do not sign any paperwork when you collect your dress here until you get confirmation from a seamstress the dress can be altered. The shop will ignore you like the plague once you've paid them.

I recently purchased my dream dress at…

I recently purchased my dream dress at Verona Bridal.

From the first minute of contact I knew this dress shop was special. I never knew I would the bride with allooot of question but turns out I am! Ha!
Any query I had the girls answered straight away. Always so kind.

When arriving at the shop I was first blown away by the interior and layout but secondly by how lovely the girls were.
My appointment was with Holly. She was the nicest person I could have possibly had an appointment with.
I am quite anxious about my body and tattoos and was very nervous. I didn’t really think I would find a dress that suited me. After trying on few styles Holly very quickly picked up on the shape I seemed to like and found my dream within minutes.

Something I was so anxious about turned into excitement very quickly. I didn’t go to any other bridal shop after this as I knew this was the one and shortly after purchased my dress.

Thank you so much Holly forever grateful for making me feel so at ease.

I visited Verona Bridal in May 2022 and…

I visited Verona Bridal in May 2022 and it was my 1st visit to the shop. I was welcomed by Helena and made to feel like a million dollars in every dress I tried on. Helena made me feel so comfortable and made the experience 5 stars.

Perfect Experience

I had the best experience at Verona Bridal! From the minute we arrived, Helena was so welcoming and nothing was too much bother. The dresses are the most stunning I have ever seen and it wasn't long until I found my perfect dress! Helena made me feel so comfortable trying on the dresses, esp as I am not a sample size bride. I have told everyone who is getting married that they need to visit Verona Bridal! Best experience so far leading up to my wedding!

The most stunning boutique

We visited on the 22/01/2022 and it was the most stunning boutique! We travelled up from Dublin and It was my first and only bridal shop i visited, the second i walked in i knew i would get my dream dress. The staff were exceptional and unbelievably good at what they do, making you feel at ease from the moment you walk in. I brought my 3yr old little girl and she was included in everything, i honestly cant fault it in anyway. I already cant wait to go back up, its worth every second of the drive!
