On 1 May this year, I was involved in a road traffic collision where another party hit my vehicle, causing extensive damage. The car was deemed beyond repair and was classed as a write-off.
After the accident, I had my eye on the Vauxhall Frontera. I was contacted by lots of companies offering lease and purchase deals, many of which were very attractive. However, most of those dealerships were quite far away, and I felt uncomfortable buying from somewhere miles from home. I wanted a dealership that was closer and more convenient.
After doing some research, I found Riverside and went to visit the showroom. I found it a little strange that no one approached me while I was there, so I ended up leaving. A couple of days later, I called to try and move things forward because I had definitely decided that I wanted the Vauxhall Frontera. The lady I spoke to told me that Ibrahim, one of the sales team in the main showroom, would contact me.
Ibrahim called me, and we arranged a time for me to come in. We discussed the Frontera and what I was looking for. As it happened, he drove a Frontera himself as part of his company car arrangement, so we took his vehicle out, and I immediately fell in love with it.
I initially wanted the car in grey, and when I mentioned that, Ibrahim explained there could be a wait. I found that a little surprising, as I assumed a Vauxhall dealership would have those vehicles readily available, but that wasn’t the case. I was told the wait could be four to eight weeks. However, a manager thought they might be able to source one sooner, so we completed all the paperwork and I went away.
At that point, I was driving a hire vehicle as a result of the accident, and it was due to be returned within a couple of weeks, so I really needed a firm date for the new car. Unfortunately, this is where things became a little negative. Communication slipped, and eventually I went back into the showroom to try to get a clearer idea of the timescale.
I do want to say that Ebrahim was amazing throughout. He was calm, passionate, knowledgeable, and clearly did his best to get the vehicle to the dealership for me. In the end, I decided to go with a different colour because I liked the one in the showroom. I chose a black 7-seater, which looked beautiful, and within a couple of weeks, much sooner than expected, they managed to get delivery of that exact vehicle, which was fantastic.
The only downside, and something I do want to mention, is that the vehicle does not come with a parcel shelf. I found this really confusing because it is an expensive, large vehicle, and I would have thought a parcel shelf to cover the boot area would be a fairly standard and important feature for both practicality and security. To my disappointment, I was told it would cost me £250 of my own money to buy one. I think that is very disappointing.
At this stage, I can decide later whether to purchase one or not, but it does leave a slightly bitter taste because I feel that a brand-new vehicle should come complete with everything that should reasonably be part of the car. Having to pay an extra £250 for a parcel shelf feels wrong in my opinion.
That said, as far as Ebrahim and the sales team are concerned, everyone I dealt with was kind and courteous. I do think communication and coordination between departments could be improved. It took quite a long time to get the vehicle cleaned and prepared for me to drive away, and I don’t think that reflects on Ibrahim at all. I think it was more a matter of poor coordination elsewhere.
Overall, though, my experience has been a positive one. I think the sales team are very good, and I trust Ebrahim so much that I have already passed his details on to other people who may benefit from buying a new vehicle with his help. I have nothing but praise and positivity for him personally.
The main reason I didn’t give five stars is the disappointment of having to pay £250 for a parcel shelf that I believe should come with the vehicle. Aside from that, I am overall very satisfied, which is why I have given four stars.

Clear explanation on the process for buying vehicle with part exchange along with clear communication. Once everything is agreed also clear date of collection. On the day as per timeline everything was smooth and ready to go. Finlay Carter helped towards deciding and explaining on the process effectively.

I recently passed my driving test and was looking on Auto Trader for available cars and I spotted a couple of Vertu Nissan Jukes on there. I decided to visit the Vertu Nissan showroom in Northampton and was given a warm welcome from Charlie, who helped me find my first car.
Having only just passed my driving test I am completely new to all of this aspect of life, which Charlie recognised and helped me through the process. I booked a test drive with Charlie for the following morning and a week later (after going through the finance process) I had my new car delivered to me at work.
I highly recommend Vertu Motors, especially Vertu Nissan, and Charlie Racklyeft if you’re looking for a new motor, the customer service was brilliant!
