Buckle up one hell of an experience
My experience with VEVOR — what has happened to this company?
I’ve been a customer of VEVOR for quite some time, and my latest purchase was a portable air conditioner.
The unit arrived surprisingly quickly, which was great. Unfortunately, that’s where the positive experience ended.
I plugged the air conditioner in, and while the compressor turned on, neither the front nor the rear fan worked. Basically, there was absolutely no airflow to circulate the cold air. The unit was faulty straight out of the box.
I emailed VEVOR to explain the problem and was told they would contact their technical support team and get back to me. I never heard anything from technical support.
Instead, they offered to send me replacement parts so I could apparently repair the unit myself. 😂
Firstly, nobody even asked whether I was qualified to carry out electrical repairs. I’m a customer who purchased a brand-new air conditioner, not a technician employed to fix faulty products.
When I explained that I wasn’t qualified to do the repairs and asked whether I could return the faulty unit and receive a replacement, I was told that wouldn’t be possible. They said they would prefer to issue me a full refund instead.
Fair enough, I thought. No problem!
But then came the bizarre part.
I asked how I was supposed to return the product to receive my refund, only to be asked:
“Can you please cut the cable and render the system unusable?”
I asked them to explain because I genuinely couldn’t believe what I was reading. Yes, you read that correctly. They wanted me to cut the power cable and destroy the unit so it could no longer be used.
So, following their instructions, that’s exactly what I did. I cut the cable, recorded a video as proof, and sent it to them.
Now, six days later, I’m still waiting for my refund.
I’ll keep you all updated on how this turns out.
It’s genuinely disappointing. I used to regard VEVOR as a great company, but this experience has seriously changed my opinion of them.
VEVOR, you’ve lost the shine you once had. It’s sad to see a company I was happy to buy from fall to TEMU level.
