This was one of the worst customer…

This was one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had, and sadly it involved my elderly grandmother traveling alone.

We paid extra for the “Volaris Is With You” service specifically so my grandmother would be assisted and treated with care while traveling by herself. Instead, from the moment we checked in, the agent assisting us—Linda—was extremely rude, condescending, and disrespectful.

She handed me paperwork to fill out and while I was completing it, she abruptly cut me off and said—very rudely—that she was going to use the restroom. When she returned, instead of giving me all the forms at once (which I could have filled out while she was gone), she gave me another form, wasting time and creating unnecessary confusion.

Then, without explaining anything to me, she walked away and began questioning my grandmother directly. The way she spoke to her was humiliating—talking down to her as if she were incapable or unintelligent. My grandmother repeatedly answered where she was going (her hometown), and Linda kept saying “no” and repeating the question in a dismissive tone. I finally had to step in and clarify, “Grandma, where are you landing?”—and only then did Linda accept the answer.

She continued interrogating my grandmother about who was dropping her off and picking her up. Even after my grandmother gave clear names, Linda aggressively questioned her simply because the names were similar, implying she was wrong—when she wasn’t.

My grandmother is elderly, but she is mentally sharp, independent, and fully capable. The way she was treated was completely uncalled for, disrespectful, and frankly disgusting. Because of how bad this interaction became, I started recording—it was that embarrassing and inappropriate. I am more than willing to share the footage to show exactly how Linda treated my grandmother.

Volaris staff often act as if they are above customers, as if passengers have to beg or “kiss up” just to receive the services they already paid for. This power imbalance is unacceptable, especially when dealing with elderly travelers who deserve patience and dignity.

I am still waiting for the day I receive even decent service from Volaris. This experience was shameful, and Volaris should be embarrassed that this is how their employees treat paying customers—especially vulnerable ones.

checking bag is $180!

The app did not work to check in one of us so each way, we were stuck in the back with non-reclining seats. Also, even though we booked the trip through Expedia and paid for bags one way, somehow we didn't have bags paid for. They charged us $168 and 180 for checking bags!

Add me to the one star reviews. Volaris is horrible. I have flow it several times with a so/so experience. I pay the exorbitant up charges for the "best" seats. The planes are dirty, the service poor, "first class" gets a bag of chips and a soda.

When checking in this time, it was not clear whether or not our pre-paid luggage was included. I checked for two pages and ended up paying an additional $309.00 (154.50 per bag!!!). Only after paying did I see that I already had one bag per reservation. There was no way to cancel or reverse the charge on-line. The airport staff could not do anything about the charges either. I was directed to calling 855-865-2747. That turned out to be an automated system with no support for refunds.

Finally got on an online chat. Responses came about every half hour. After several hours, I was informed that Volaris does not provide refunds for essentially any reason. $309 for nothing.

Yes, Volaris really is as bad as all the reviewers say. I'll find another way to get to Loreto next time.

Si pudiera poner cero estrellas

Si pudiera poner cero estrellas, lo haría. El día de hoy tenía mi vuelo de regreso de San Pedro Sula, Honduras hacia Miami, en el que traía a mi mascota de regreso. Hace dos semanas había viajado de Miami hacia dicha ciudad sin problema, al regresar dos agentes de la aerolínea me dijeron que no podía abordar con mi mascota ya que era muy grande para el compartimiento en donde la llevaba(aclaro es que sería mi 3era vez viajando con la misma mascota en el mismo contenedor). Adicional, había viajado desde Estados Unidos con el, y al regresar comenzaron los problemas. Lastimosamente estas personas tienen tanto miedo a ser despedidos o que se yo que el servicio al cliente les importa un comino. Experiencia terrible, no vuelvo a viajar con esta aerolínea. Evitense el dolor de cabeza y no les crean a sus políticas de mascotas a bordo. Incluso el muchacho me dijo que sería “crueldad animal” someterlo a que fuera acostadito, dormidito en un vuelo de 1:50mins, en el que ya había venido hace dos semanas, acusándome de algo que considero una ofensa ya que jamás sometería a mi perro a algo que lo lastimaría.

VOLARIS IS A DISGUSTING, GREEDY SCAM – DO NOT FLY WITH THESE THIEVES!
Volaris is absolute trash. They lured me in with a cheap ticket and then ROBBED me at the gate: $111 dollars for my normal backpack that I’ve carried on from Mexico City to Cozumel. $111 dollars! For a backpack! These money-hungry vultures hide behind their ridiculous “personal item” size rules (14x18x8 inches – good luck fitting anything useful) and then ambush you when you’re trapped at the gate with no options but to pay or miss your flight.
The staff? Vile. This woman named Grace and some guy named Ramiro were straight-up nasty, dripping with passive-aggressive sarcasm, eye-rolling, smirking, and talking to me like I was dirt beneath their shoes. Zero professionalism, zero empathy – just pure contempt for the customers they’re supposed to serve. The entire check-in area was a chaotic mess: no lines, no order, no consistency, just a bunch of angry passengers getting fleeced left and right while these rude employees acted like they were doing us a favor.
Volaris isn’t an airline – it’s a predatory scam operation designed to squeeze every last dollar out of you with hidden fees, surprise charges, and outright extortion. They treat people like garbage, their staff are trained to be hostile, and the whole company reeks of corruption and greed.
I will NEVER fly Volaris again, and I will tell everyone I know to stay the hell away from these crooks. Save your money, save your sanity, and fly with literally ANY other airline. Volaris deserves to go out of business for the way they abuse and rip off passengers. Worst. Airline. Ever. Burn in hell, Volaris.

Tusind tak, Volaris!

Hvis jeg kunne give mere end 5 stjerner havde jeg gjort det! Vi kom for sent til lufthavnen (AIFA - Mexico City), 45 minutter før vores fly. Personalet i skranken spottede os med det samme og hjalp os med hurtigt check in og security. De var smilende og forstående og vi nåede vores fly. Tak Volaris😊

Issuing incorrect boarding passes

I purchased a “basic” ticket from Volaris in December that included a carry-on bag. The receipt I received from Volaris clearly states this. Then I get my boarding pass and it says I don’t have a carry-on bag included. Apparently Volaris updated their baggage policy at the end of November but this information wasn’t updated on their website or on my receipt. I called customer service and they said there is nothing they could do with my boarding pass and that I have to accept their updated policies even though I have documentation stating the services I paid.

Pésima experiencia viajando con mi perrita – cambio de reglas sin aviso y cero empatía

Viajé el 24 de diciembre con mi perrita como emotional support animal. Antes del viaje hice todo correctamente:
llamé a Volaris, pregunté específicamente sobre los requisitos, llené su formulario online y obtuve el health certificate con una veterinaria especializada en viajes internacionales en San Diego.

Al llegar al aeropuerto me informaron, por primera vez, que existe una “nueva regla” (según ellos desde hace 6 meses) que limita el tamaño del perro a máximo 25 cm de largo para viajar en cabina — regla que jamás me mencionaron previamente.

En ese momento me dejaron sin opciones reales: o cambiaba el vuelo para el día siguiente (25 de diciembre) o debía enviar a mi perrita en bodega. Además tuve que comprar una transportadora carísima dentro del aeropuerto (4,000 MXN) y pagar cargos adicionales, cuando de haber sabido este cambio la habría adquirido con anticipación y habría organizado todo de otra forma.

Lo más grave no es solo el gasto, sino el estrés y la angustia innecesaria a la que me sometieron, especialmente en una fecha tan sensible.

Las aerolíneas no pueden hacer cambios tan importantes sin avisar a los pasajeros, y mucho menos tratándose del bienestar de los animales. La falta de comunicación y de empatía fue total.

No recomiendo Volaris para viajar con mascotas.

Unprofessional and unorganized

Unprofessional and unorganized. Volaris airlines will cancel or delay your flight last minute and will wait until you arrive to the airport and have checked in already to inform you. They don't give you your money back and you have to invest your money and time to find a solution for your delayed or cancel flight for occurrences such as fog which can be determined a day before and inform travelers ahead of time as well.

The employees lack information and don't offer any kind of solution.

Unfortunately volaris is the only…

Unfortunately volaris is the only direct option from LA to some parts of Mexico ! Each time they make all the passengers wait in line for over 30min with minimal oxygen before they let you get on the plane! Horrible service … we even paid a premium for our seats only to find out they’re all the same !

Volaris es un fraude de linea aerea! NO VUELEN CON VOLARIS SON UNOS ESTAFADORES!!! ME extraviaron mi maleta y aun y yo tener el comprobante no se hicieron cargo de mis pertenencias! Estan denunciados y se gano el juicio y aunbespero que se encarguen de pagarme por el valir extraviado! LITERALMENTE ME ROBARON MI MALETA Y NO SE HACEN CARGO POR EL MOMENTO Y DESPUES DE GANAR EL JUICIO! I would not recommend Volaris for my worst enemy

Please, I highly recommend allowing the user to leave a zero review

Volaris do not deserve a 1 star, it should be 0 stars

Volaris is, without exaggeration, the worst airline experience I have ever had in my life.

This company somehow manages to sink below the lowest possible standard of customer service. We booked a confirmed ticket, showed up on time, and were coldly informed with zero apology, zero empathy, and zero accountability that Volaris had decided to make the plane smaller and therefore we no longer had a seat. Just like that. No discussion. No remorse. No responsibility.

We were treated like disposable objects, not paying customers.

They kept us waiting for hours, offered no solution, and refused any form of compensation. No hotel. No reimbursement. No taxes refunded. Nothing. We lost money on an Airbnb in Guatemala, a rental car, restaurant reservations, and then had to buy a last-minute ticket with another airline at an outrageous price , all because of their decision.

What made this even worse was the attitude of the staff. Rude. Dismissive. Cold. Not a single apology. Not a single acknowledgment that they had caused real financial and emotional damage. It genuinely felt like the company culture is built around not caring and avoiding responsibility at all costs.

Flying with Volaris is a gamble where the house always wins and the customer always loses. If you value your time, your money, or basic human decency, do not fly this airline. This was not just incompetence . it was indifference, disrespect, and complete disregard for customers.

I would not recommend Volaris to my worst enemy.

Pésimo sevicio por volaris

Porfavor nunca pero nunca viajen x volaris, pierdes los vuelos, cambian horarios y fechas, y no te reponen nada absolutamente nada, lo barato sale caro, cuando ya pagaste hospedaje, renta de carro, entrada a los parques o eventos especiales no les importa te mandan a vuelos dos días después o te quieren reembolsar lo q pagaste para q busques otro vuelos, los vuelos se retrasar horas cuando por suerte lo tomas, de verdad, nunca compren vuelos por volaris

Calificar con 1 es demasiado

Calificar con 1 es demasiado. Por cumplir un deseo de cumpleaños de llevar al sobrino a Cancún, Volaris me rebajó poco más de $6000 de manera improcedente y estoy haciendo un reclamo legal para la devolución del dinero. Citan un email que da respuestas automáticas, las llamadas por teléfono se cortan, el chat bot inservible (responde que no entiende), App con errores constantes. Una verdadera vulgaridad. No sea tonto, no compre en Volaris.

Absolute nightmare – Stay away from Volaris!
I am beyond frustrated with my experience on flight Y4 3519 from Queretaro (QRO) to Cancun (CUN). What was supposed to be a simple trip turned into a 11-hour delay nightmare.
Here is why you should avoid this airline:
• Incompetent & Rude Ground Staff: The staff at the airport were incredibly unfriendly and unhelpful. Instead of providing solutions, they gave us nothing but "stupid" and dismissive answers.
• False Excuses: They are claiming the delay is due to "bad weather" to avoid responsibility, which is simply not true. It is a clear tactic to deny passengers the compensation they are legally entitled to.
• Zero Support: During the entire 11-hour wait, we were provided with no food and no water.
• Financial Loss: Because of this massive delay, we have missed our hotel booking and our ferry connection. Volaris shows zero empathy for the logistical and financial mess they’ve caused.
The lack of professionalism and basic humanity from the staff is shocking. Do yourself a favor and book with any other airline. Volaris does not care about its customers at all!

Broke Duffle Bag Telescoping Handle

Flight was ok. But the airline broke the telescoping handle of my rolling duffle bag. I complained at airport. They are only giving me $30 airline credit good for 6 months. But I have never flown with them before and won't in near future. It will cost about $50 to send in for repair in USA and I have 5.5 months of overseas travel till then.

AVOID VOLARIS AT ALL COSTS! Worst airline experience I have ever had!

They canceled multiple flights and then effectively made it impossible to get a refund, even though we paid for their highest-end “fully refundable” tickets and bought travel insurance. Their customer service is a complete failure. You cannot reach anyone who can actually help. When someone does pick up, they hang up, transfer you into a dead end, or the system disconnects the call. It feels intentionally designed to wear you down until you give up.

Because of their cancellations and zero support, we had to buy new last-minute tickets to a different airport in order to get home. We are still owed a refund for flights they canceled, and Volaris is refusing to take responsibility. Save yourself the stress, time, and money. Do not fly this airline. Pay a little more and fly with a real airline with real support!
