I purchased a car from Walkers in April…
I purchased a car from Walkers in April 2023. Within the first few days, I noticed one of the tyres was slowly deflating and had to keep adding air. I paid a mobile fitter to change the tyre, and upon removing the wheel, they discovered a crack that had previously been welded.
Walkers acknowledged responsibility as a reputable dealer and paid for a new weld on that wheel. However, this attempt to rectify the issue failed. Later, when the other front tyre started deflating, we found that wheel had also been improperly welded, causing the leak.
Concerningly, I had paid £44,000 for this vehicle with very low mileage and the benefits of a long manufacturer's warranty. When I took it to Mercedes Brooklands, they informed me they could not proceed with any warranty repairs or even inspect the car further, as they did not deem it safe enough for their employees to test drive due to the cracked alloy wheels. This rendered my car effectively un-serviceable.
The situation was unacceptable. I had purchased a beautiful automobile that I could not safely operate. Despite being given ample opportunity, Walkers ignored communications from myself and my father to rectify the matter. One staff member even admitted via WhatsApp message that they simply did not have time to check the wheels before sale.
Walkers refused to communicate with us or my finance company to resolve this problem. Ultimately, the finance company stepped in to provide funds for replacing the two faulty alloy wheels.
Today, I received a service reminder from Walkers - a timely reminder to post this review as a warning: Buyers beware, Walkers took my money but showed no concern over delivering an unsafe vehicle to me.
