Excellent lessons for under 5s to learn to swim
My son had lessons in Tottenham with Water Babies from 9 months through to 6 years old. The classes are fantastic. All of the teachers are well qualified and make the lessons fun while still teaching core safety and technique and building confidence in the water. After finishing at Water Babies and joining a new course at a local leisure centre, he was noticeably more confident and able to swim further than most others in the class the same age.

Beware of the baby faeces in the water
Lots of baby faeces floating in the water, changing facilities totally inadequate. People around filming in a private environment, and wildly expensive.

Thank you for taking the time to speak with me today and for your feedback.
Just to reiterate, we would absolutely not expect anyone to be swimming in contaminated water and for the safety of our teachers and parents and children, if there were any faeces in the pool, we would be immediately vacating the water. We will be liaising with the venue to review their cleaning and hygiene policies to ensure the appropriate standards are being maintained.
With regard to filming, we are very happy for parents and guardians to take photographs or videos of their own children swimming. However, we completely understand that some people may feel uncomfortable with this. If you have any concerns, as per our terms and conditions of swimming, we can ask anyone filming to stop immediately.
We hope to welcome you to one of our alternative venues very soon, where we hope the environment will be a better fit for you and your family.

We really enjoy our swimming lessons, and our son always has such a lovely time. Bethany is absolutely amazing — she’s warm, patient, encouraging, and makes every lesson so enjoyable. She creates such a positive environment, and it’s been wonderful seeing our son grow in confidence and have so much fun in the water. We’re so grateful to have such a fantastic instructor!

Water Babies is excellent
Water Babies was initially a little difficult to book, as the weekend sessions were fully booked, but the communication throughout that period was excellent and kept us well informed. Once we started, we found the instructor to be fantastic, with well-structured lessons and clear progression each week. Our baby daughter is really enjoying the classes and has grown in confidence in the water. We’re very pleased with our experience and would happily recommend Water Babies

Class teacher was amazing, pool maintenance not so much
Class teacher was amazing, pool maintenance not so much. My son was regularly getting sick after swimming, and after the last time got hospitalised with bronchitis. I know it’s from the chlorine levels in the pool because he is always at home and doesn’t go to nursery or meet other toddler often.
Overall the classes were always nice but it’s extremely frustrating that they don’t provide refund even at times where you have accumulated high number of catch up class due to your child’s sickness. What do you do when you have over 6 catch up lessons and have to pay for your regular classes each month and use those catch up sessions on top of your usual schedule?! I mean if you are a working parent using them all become impossible. I wouldn’t recommend after being with them for so long, be sure you’re committed.

We take all concerns regarding our lessons and pool facilities extremely seriously. As part of our standard operating procedures, chlorine levels are tested at multiple points before and throughout each day of lessons. We would not run classes if levels fell outside the required parameters.
We have reached out to you directly to better understand your concerns and discuss applying credits as a gesture of goodwill, as we were not previously aware of the full extent of the situation you have described.

Best learning experience
I enrolled my little one to Water Babies when she’s about 15 months, and it was the best decision. We have seen so much improvements in her confidence in the water. If you’re thinking of getting your child into a swimming lesson, make sure to consider choosing the Water Babies. The teachers are highly skilled and trained! She enjoys Carmel’s class so much and so, Ana’s class whenever she needs a catch up class. 😊Water Babies highly recommended.

Very pricey but worth every penny!
Seeing my baby flourish as each week goes by is so beautiful. He is so happy in the water and now understands that if I say his name followed by 'are you ready, go', that water will be go on his face, and so he closes his eyes. Its so magical what he's learning. Swimming is an essential skill and I have peace of mind that eventually he will be a confident swimmer that will keep himself safe (e.g. to hold on to the rail if he falls in).

High quality, engaging for little ones
We have tried both leisure centre and water babies swimming. Water babies is more expensive but the quality of the lessons, 1-1 support and small classes is higher so worth the money. Our son loves his weekly trip to the pool and is progressing well with new skills. Especially like the water and poolside safety components.

Great introduction to swimming
Great introduction to swimming. I've used for both my son (now 4) and my baby daughter. Teachers are friendly and knowledgeable. The lessons have prepared my son well for lessons for older children. I would recommend.

Our lesson plans are designed to build skills progressively through repetition and gradual introduction of new skills, as consistency is key in helping little ones gain water confidence and technique. That said, sessions should always feel engaging and varied, so we’re disappointed to hear this hasn’t been your experience.
Regarding teachers, while we occasionally need to rotate instructors due to unforeseen circumstances, we always aim to provide continuity wherever possible. We understand how important familiar faces are for both parents and children.
We also appreciate your comments about value and catch-up lesson availability. Catch-up lessons are subject to availability, and we’re continually reviewing how we can improve this for families. While you can view catch up class options on your Parent Portal, you can always contact us directly and we may be able to find alternative options that may be more convenient for you.

We’ve had the most amazing experience…
We’ve had the most amazing experience with Water Babies. The lessons are so well structured, fun, and confidence-building, and the instructors are absolutely fantastic—calm, encouraging, and brilliant with babies.
It’s been such a special bonding experience for us as parents too. The songs, routines, and gentle approach make every session something we genuinely look forward to.
We feel completely safe and supported, and would and have highly recommend Water Babies to other parents wanting a positive, nurturing introduction to swimming for their little one!

Staff are welcoming and understanding and don’t put any pressure on you especially when baby is not wanting to engage. Great value for money and so may options of days and times and places. The option to book a swim at another session when your little one is absent is also great.
