We buchen bereits zum zweiten Mal bei WeDesignTrips und waren wieder sehr begeistert. Es hat alles gepasst, wir wurden immer pünktlich abgeholt, die Guides waren alle sehr lieb, freundlich und informiv. Es ist angenehm, wenn man sich auf der Reise im nichts mehr kümmern muss.

Wir haben eine Rundreise durch Indonesien gebucht und es war fantastisch.
Vom ersten Kontakt an wurde auf unsere Bedürfnisse eingegangen und die Tour mit allen Aktivitäten solange angepasst bis sie perfekt für uns war. Nicht nur das wir tolle Vorschläge bekamen wir wurden auch toll beraten.

Alles tiptop, sehr hilfreiche Ansprechperson, kompetent, sehf hilfsbereit.

Hat alles gut geklappt. Die örtliche Agentur war leicht erreichbar und hat bei Fragen schnell geantwortet. Shuttlebusse fuhren pünktlich ab. Die Guides waren super, ohne sie hätten wir nur einen Bruchteil gesehen.
Gerne wieder! Beim nächsten Mal würde ich allerdings die Unterkünfte und Gegebenheiten vor Buchung sorgfältiger recherchieren/prüfen.

Unsere Namibia Reise war einfach traumhaft. Bei der Reiseplanung wurde auf unsere Wünsche eingegangen, im Vorfeld dann alles Wichtige besprochen. Unterkünfte, Reisefolge einfach perfekt - wir würden sofort wieder aufbrechen.

Ich habe schon mehrmals via WeDesignTrips individuelle Reisen gebucht und bin mit dem Service sehr zufrieden. Leider gab es bei meiner diesjährigen Tadschikistan Mountain Trekking Reise größere Kommunikationsprobleme mit dem lokalen Reiseveranstalter „Central Asia Travel“. Von daher auch meine kleine Abwertung in der Gesamtbewertung (sonst hätte ich 5 Sterne vergeben).

Sehr gute Reiseplanung, sehr unkomplizierte und immer sofortige Hilfe, das Geld für nicht genutzte Dienstleistungen war innert Tagen auf meinem Konto, ich kann dieses Unternehmer sehr empfehlen, so macht Reisen wirklich Spass!

Bettina hat die Vietnam Reise für unsere 8 köpfige Gruppe ganz prima zusammengestellt und alles hat bestens geklappt. Großes Kompliment. Sehr empfehlenswert.

Seamless organisation, memorable experiences with a few suggestions for improvement

From start to finish, my journey through China with Wedesigntrips was nothing short of wonderful. The booking process was smooth and reassuring. Wedesigntrips connected me with their local partner agency in China, and from that moment everything ran like clockwork. Grace was my main contact during the booking and finalisation stage, and she was exceptional, reliable, responsive, and unfailingly helpful in both planning and answering my many questions. She even advised me to set up Alipay in advance, which proved invaluable later on. The proposed itinerary was detailed, thoughtfully arranged, and covered all major sights, allowing me to form a very clear picture of the trip ahead.

Upon arrival, Markus became my main contact for the duration of the trip, and he was equally outstanding. He was my dedicated WeChat contact who supported me throughout the journey. Markus sent all tickets and meeting point information well in advance, often with photo references. I never once struggled to find a location. The organisation was truly first-class.

In every city, the guides arranged for me were knowledgeable, engaging, and accommodating. They not only shared detailed historical and cultural insights but were flexible if I wished to adjust plans spontaneously. Ken in Xi’an and Jack in Luoyang deserve special mention for their warmth and personal touch, which made their tours particularly memorable. Travelling with a dedicated driver and guide at each stop meant I could simply relax and enjoy the journey without worrying about logistics.

The only aspect that left a sour note was the tipping policy. Early in the trip, I was told that in China, agencies often underpay drivers and guides, expecting guests to make up the difference through tips with suggested amounts of around €10 per day for the driver and €15 for the guide. This was presented less as an option and more as an expectation. I always tip generously when service is good, and I happily gave hotel housekeeping staff RMB 10–20 per day. However, I strongly believe that staff wages should be fully covered by the agency, and tips should remain a voluntary reward for exceptional service, not a hidden supplement to salaries. While I didn’t want the guides or drivers to be underpaid, I would prefer a transparent system in future where fair pay is built into the cost of the trip.

Another improvement I would suggest is providing a detailed cost breakdown when booking, showing hotel rates, domestic flight costs, guide fees, and so on. While the total price was clear, having more transparency would allow guests to understand and compare each element, as I have seen with other agencies.

Despite these points, I returned home deeply grateful and entirely satisfied. The landscapes were breathtaking, highlights included the dramatic peaks of Mount Tianmen and Tianzi Mountain in Zhangjiajie, the serene rice terraces of Longsheng, and the stunning karst scenery around Yangshuo. Four weeks gave me an excellent overview of many regions, but China’s depth and variety mean I am already planning a return trip to explore fewer cities in greater depth.

Overall, Wedesigntrips together with their outstanding Chinese partner agency delivered a perfectly executed journey that exceeded my expectations in almost every way.

Our recent journey through Morocco, arranged by WeDesignTrips (Austria) in partnership with Tafoukt Travel (Marrakech), combined memorable moments with avoidable frustrations. At an average cost approaching €600 per day, we had reasonably high expectations.

Upon arrival in Tangier Med by ferry, we were met by a driver in a Skoda sedan rather than the agreed minibus. This was promptly reported to Rachid at Tafoukt, who assured us that a minibus would be provided from the following day.

Hotel Zahia’s location was excellent, but the check-in process was disorganised — our room was not ready despite it being almost 4pm, passports were briefly misplaced, and the staff appeared overwhelmed. The same lack of coordination continued into breakfast, where communication and service were equally strained.

The transfer to Chefchaouen exposed deeper structural problems. Our new driver, Ayouf, had been reassigned at the last minute and only informed the evening before. Having left at 9pm, he had driven 700 km overnight from Marrakech with just three hours of rest. This presented an entirely avoidable risk. Fortunately, Ayouf turned out to be a cautious and communicative driver well aware that that morning’s drive required additional caution — but no travel agency should place its clients in a potentially unsafe situation arising from poor planning.

Once Ayouf understood our preference for punctuality and proactive communication, the remaining transfers proceeded smoothly. However, discrepancies between the promised itinerary and the actual services persisted. At Volubilis and Meknes, entrance fees had to be clarified on the spot — catching even Ayouf by surprise. An unrequested detour to a clearly commission-driven handicraft shop — despite our explicit request to avoid such stops — added further irritation.

Fes and Rabat were well organised, with comfortable accommodation and seamless transitions. In Casablanca, however, the absence of a private guided tour of the Hassan II Mosque — listed in our programme, though not in the “included services” — revealed a fundamental inconsistency and felt like a missed opportunity.

Morocco itself was magnificent — the landscapes and cultural richness exceeded expectations. But the execution of the trip, given the price point and Tafoukt’s positive online reviews, fell well short. The impression was one of lack of attention to detail.

We ultimately enjoyed the journey, but did so in spite of the agency rather than because of it. The common thread throughout was that communication with Rachid at Tafoukt was mostly good — but rarely better than that. In one case, he sent me the full text of a ChatGPT conversation advising him how to handle and communicate with an unhappy client, only to revoke the message shortly afterwards. Like many things, travel planning depends on care and pride — and that is where our experience failed to convince.

I wonder if WeDesignTrips might be better off letting three competing local agencies pitch their services to prospective clients — ideally including a promise of attention to detail and a brief call with the organiser. Would it have produced a better outcome? Perhaps not. But it would certainly have given me a choice — and a greater sense of ownership in the process. As it stands, the responsibility for this experience lies squarely with WeDesignTrips and Tafoukt.

Wir haben zu fünf Erwachsene eine Rundreise von 20 Tagen durch Japan mit We'Designtrips / Shanti Travel gebucht.

Unsere Stationen waren Tokio, Yokohama, Hakone, Nagano, Matsumoto, Kijimadaira, Osaka, Kyoto und schliesslich nochmal Tokio.

Vom ersten Kostenvoranschlag bis hin zur Heimreise wurden wir von Saphia (travel expert bei We'designtrips) kompetent beraten.

Kurz vor unserem Abflug hatten wir noch ein Videocall mit ihr um letzte Details zu klären. Zusätzlich hat sie uns ein ausführliches "travelbook" zukommen lassen mit allen nötigen Informationen und einer Menge Tipps und Vorschläge.

Während unseres Aufenthalts hatten wir regelmässig über Whatsapp Kontakt. Anfangs unserer Reise gab es ein kleines Missverständnis, welches Saphia umgehend nach einem Telefonanruf von uns behoben hat.

Die fast 3 Wochen in Japan waren für uns ein unvergessliches Abenteuer.

Wir haben eine Reise nach Costa Rica gebucht. Beraten wurden wir durch Daniela. Sie war in der Vorbereitung schon Klasse und brauchte auch etwas Geduld mit uns. Im Endeffekt hat die Zusammenstellung und Buchung fantastisch geklappt. Wir haben eine Costa Rica Rundreisen gebucht und waren sehr zufrieden mit der Auswahl aller Aktivitäten und Unterkünfte!
