I passed my UK Driving Test today 14th May 2026 and mine is a story I will tell for years.

When I arrived in the UK, I started driving immediately using my Kenyan driving licence.

My engineering job has taken me all over the UK- England, Wales, and even driving from the UK to Ireland and back.

I always believed I was a good driver because I had never had any issues on the road.
Then I met Mamona for a test drive 😁

That’s when I realised that all my past driving experience was not necessarily “safe driving” according to UK standards. I could not believe how many old bad habits I had developed over the years.

Starting again as a learner was not easy. Converting old bad driving habits into proper UK safe driving habits took patience, discipline, and guidance.

Thankfully, Mamona understood me very well. Step by step, she explained everything clearly and professionally.

Today, I proudly hold a UK Driving Licence.

My experience with Arfan was truly fantastic, I set a very tough goal of passing my driving test in just three weeks, and his precise instruction and thorough training on the Morden test routes made it possible.

The experience was incredible. Arfan Sheikh was my driving instructor. He guided me through my entire journey from before I took my theory test to passing my driving test. He also helped me a lot with where I should take my test and suggested the right locations/roads I will be tested. It was a great experience and I am a much better driver now.

BASHIR IS THE BEST - Bashir is a fantastic driving instructor, thank you so much for all his patience and gracious guidance helping me pass my manual driving test! I passed first time with Bashir, he is an excellent teacher, making sure you are well prepared for the test and for driving throughout your life - thank you! He is well organised, patient, deeply knowledgeable and calm, he knew when it was the right time for me to try a new challenge so that I progressed with every lesson, rather than going over the same things and stagnating. There is a great structure to his lessons and he works so well with you to achieve your goals and more.

I had not driven for a few years and he quickly built my confidence back up and didn’t let me indulge in being too nervous. I was most worried about getting used to changing through the gears and speed but I placed my trust in Bashir and now I am calm and confident! He is fantastic and I will be forever grateful for his patience - I cannot recommend him highly enough! Thank you Bashir for all your hard work! If you want to make progress and learn with someone who has real expertise then Bashir is the perfect instructor.

I loved learning to drive with Arfan. He has a great sense of humour but also ensures you understand your mistakes - a killer combo! He cares deeply about his students successes: every week he would tell me proudly about more of his students passing (with minimal minors). I passed first time thanks to his coaching - I could not recommend him highly enough.

I had a great experience learning with Martin Andreev and passed my driving test on the first attempt.

Martin was calm, focused, and always gave clear, straight-to-the-point guidance that made learning feel structured and stress-free. Every lesson felt productive, and he explained things in a very practical and easy-to-understand way. He was also genuinely pleasant to talk to, which made the sessions enjoyable as well as educational.

What I appreciated most was his ability to stay calm and constructive throughout, helping build confidence without adding pressure. I would highly recommend Martin to anyone looking to get a UK driving licence, whether you are a completely new learner or already an experienced driver adapting to UK roads.

So my driving journey is complicated at best. I started my lessons almost 2 years ago and did them all with Gershon who was amazing to start with. In a few lessons he had started to understand my style of learning and tailored his teaching/explaining style accordingly. Unfortunately i failed my test the first time because i made a very silly error during the test (ughh nerves!!!)
Then i was travelling so had a lonnng break in lessons. And then i moved to a different city. But i managed to rebook my test in the same area as before and did a week’s worth of daily lessons with Gershon again! And it felt like i had never stopped. And this time i passed!!!! With only one minor!!! And his reaction also felt like i was being encouraged by my uncle

My instructor (Qamar Ahmad) was brilliant. The lessons were enjoyable, he explained everything very clearly, and has helped me develop the skills to drive anywhere. By the time my test date came around, I felt like a very knowledgeable, skilled and confident driver - passed first time! He was also very flexible with fitting in the lessons around my busy schedule - would recommend!

I had Sherjeel Ahmad 07737238180 as my instructor and I passed first time because he helped me through every detail of driving safely. I would definitely recommend him if you want to pass your automatic test, Thanks

Great experience with Gershon. Passed first try. He’s very patient, teaches very well and helped me build confidence on the road. He also arranged lessons outside of his usual hours for me to keep the same instructor, as I had already booked my test. Couldn’t recommend him enough

Bashir was fantastic from the start. He was more than just an instructor — he was like a father figure to me. His lessons were always useful and encouraging. He took the time to help me improve with anything I found difficult.

It is a tragedy that he’s stopping manual lessons. I will genuinely miss his lessons and the guidance he gave me throughout my driving journey. I would highly recommend him to anyone learning to drive.

I had Eder as my instructor and he was fantastic! I heavily recommend him, he is a great teacher and takes his time in explaining and ensuring you can understand everything. He offers a tailored experience per person and is key for helping new drivers pass their test

Just passed today with Bashir and I couldn’t recommend him more as an instructor. I’ve had 3 instructors before him and he’s been by far the best. Taught me to drive for life not just the test. Great experience all round.

Lubna was an amazing driving instructor! The lessons were very enjoyable, and I always looked forward to them. Her confidence in me really boosted my own, and helped me pass my test on my 1st attempt with only 2 minors. Her experience is clearly evident in her teaching methods, she’s great at identifying any weaknesses and kindly but firmly working with you to improve them. I’ll genuinely be sad not to be driving with her anymore. I would highly recommend her to anyone learning to drive.

Imran was a great instructor, making sure that my son passed his licence. However, without being invoiced and being told to pay via your son is not optimal. One of the reasons for going with a brand like Wimbledon Driving School is to ensure there's a platform behind the instructors to support something as simple as invoicing and payments

I needed to re-learn how to drive after leaving it over a year since failing my last test. I found Bashir through Wimbledon driving school and highly recommend him- he is very professional, calm, and prepares you well for the driving test. Not only did I pass thanks to his instruction, but I now feel confident to go out and drive alone :)
