This is the worst company in the world

This is the worst company in the world! We shipped 13 boxes from New York State to France through Schumaker Cargo and once the ship docked in Europe, Windmill Forwarding was the delivery carrier. They ran us around in circles for 3 months; your goods will be delivered soon, then no more contact from them until I literally threw a fit with Bas and then it took weeks. Then they said they lost our shipment and were looking for it......we waited and waited......6 months after shipping our boxes were delivered and the van driver told my husband that it should never take that long!! Today, April 18, 2026 we receive a letter from a lovely woman that lives in France near the Swiss border that she hoped we received our shipment because Windmill deliver it to her!!! We live in western France for perspective. She explained how she contacted them (thank god she is an honest person!) and made them pick it up to deliver to the proper owner.
DO NOT SHIP WITH SCHUMAKER AND NEVER EVER EVER USE WINDMILL FORWARDING!!! YOU WILL NEVER KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR BELONGINGS!!! TERRIBLE SERVICE!!

Avoid at all costs.

Avoid at all costs.
They told me I could delay the delivery of my belongings and explicitly said it would be “no problem.” Later, they suddenly charged me €600 without any prior notice or agreement.
Worse, they held my items hostage and refused to deliver them unless I paid these unfair and unannounced charges.
This is dishonest and unethical business practice. If you value transparency and basic respect as a customer, do not use this company.

TRès satisfait

Je les ai utilisés pour un déménagement partiel Belgique - Thaïlande. Un des meilleurs prix que j'ai eu et un service tout à fait correct porte à porte en 3 mois. Seul bémol le chargement en Belgique le chauffeur n'a pas aidé ! Mais administrativement et pour la livraison en Thaïlande aucun reproche à faire très satisfait.

If you're being scammed

If you're being scammed, go with Windmail. We had a door-to-door quote for all our household goods from the Netherlands to Asia, so they sent someone to measure everything in cubic meters. Apparently, Mr. Bob couldn't do that. Afterwards, you get a bill for even more cubic meters, which just fell out of the blue. Initially, it was €1,000. Never accept it, because then they halve the price.
And in Asia, you have to pay the movers again, who were very professional people.
So, Windmail doesn't deliver door-to-door, but to the port. If you don't pay, you won't get your belongings.
Windmail are pure scammers.

Absolutely horrible, claimed 5-6 weeks and it turned out 12

Our stuff was packed in Berlin. 2 small dents in the floor but that was not a big thing and they reimbursed that part. The communication at that time was still very good.
The packaging was done very well and we received all our stuff with only 1 thing damaged. After the pickup it became quiet from Windmill Forwarding. After 3 weeks I started enquiring as they promised DOOR TO DOOR from Berlin to New York in 5-6 weeks. Before signing the contract I checked multiple times with Windmill Forwarding because other moving companies really doubted the 5-6 weeks. 2 other moving companies said it is impossible, the quickest is 7-8 weeks but realistic is 10-12 weeks.
After reaching out they replied that they had some delays. I asked what is the expected time and they didnt really have an answer. The ship will take about 3 weeks they claimed. Once we were in New York, things got worse. After 5 weeks the ship was nowhere near the harbour and they said that DOOR to DOOR means the ship leaving the harbour to our New York door. But even that started to be unrealistic and I started asking some of the companies they work with. They confirmed that the ship will take 5-8 weeks from harbour to harbour. Without customs, without travel, etc.
They have sold on lies. After literally 20 emails back and forth they finally admitted that the DOOR to DOOR was incorrect and they will adjust their communication in the future. But no compensation, no creative thought to help my wife, my 2 young kids and me in any other way. We had to sleep on the floor in an empty apartment for 4 weeks. We calculated a bit of delay in but in the end it took 12 weeks before we got our things. A complete miscalculation and I actually think falsely promising to win the deal. I should have listened to the other moving companies. I checked multiple times and they confirmed me that 5-6 weeks is realistic because they do this so often. I feel so cheated, believing in them. And my 2 young kids, my wife had an awful time without furniture and toys. No help from their side except an email saying they communicated it wrong. We had horrible nights, days, missing stuff, having to buy things and in the most vulnerable times, this company just didnt help. And no proactive email to warn about the delay. I had to find it out all by myself.
So please be wary and I warn everyone for Kady Fieret and Ruben Trotz of Windmill Forwarding. They lie to win your order and then they point to their legal contract that estimations are just estimations. Horrible, horrible to take advantage of people that have their personal belongings shipped. Toys of kids, clothes that are needed and then they just let you stay in the cold.

Avoid Windmill Forwarding in any case!!

I chose them for my relocation from the Netherlands to Indonesia based on their "good reputation", which was a huge mistake. My experience with their services has been shocking and alarming, and I have written proof of the following:

- Unauthorized use of my name/documents: Although I signed up for a groupage container, Windmill stole my identity and documents to ship a full container with 138 items belonging to other shippers. This exposed me to serious legal and customs risks.

- Impersonation: Their local partner contacted the Indonesian Embassy in The Hague in my name without my consent, trying to legalize other people’s goods under my identity. This is illegal. Windmill’s General Manager even called me personally to pressure me to cooperate in deceiving the embassy and authorities.

- Misleading & delays: They misinformed me about a crucial requirement, which caused huge delays. What was estimated to be a 8–9 weeks shipment turned into 22 weeks (!!), far beyond any reasonable margin.

- Due to the delay they guaranteed me that “no duties or taxes will be charged for your shipment”. To my surprise, this was later dismissed as a “misunderstanding”, showing lack of any integrity whatsoever. These people cannot be trusted by what they tell you.

- Lack of professionalism: Throughout the process they showed no transparency, accountability, or professionalism.

They have ignored my requests to take accountability for their unprofessional and potentially unlawful behaviour to this day. They claim to follow ethical business standards, but the reality shows their true face. Think twice before trusting them with your shipment!

Avoid them like you avoid the plague -- the plague might actually be nicer. This is hands down the most incompetent, insincere, and unprofessional company I've ever dealt with. From the very first interaction to the very last, it was one red flag after another -- cold attitudes, zero empathy, and an astonishing lack of basic human or operational skills. They sent a lone driver, completely unequipped, to move an entire apartment's worth of items. No dolly, no lifting straps -- nothing. It was clearly a two-person job, but they expected him (and ultimately, me) to do it alone. I ended up injuring myself just trying to help because they left him completely unsupported. To make matters worse, they tried to charge me for insurance that didn't even exist -- and only after I pushed hard did they provide a half-baked appendix instead of an actual policy document. It felt like a scam from every angle. Then, after picking up my items, the driver couldn't even access their own warehouse -- it was closed -- so he offloaded my belongings at some foreign, off-site location without my consent. No notice. No accountability. No care. And just when I thought things couldn't get worse, one of their staff -- in an attempt to make amends -- promised me a discount on the final invoice. That promise disappeared the day he left the company, leaving my case in the hands of a new team that somehow managed to be even colder, slower, and more incompetent. They held my shipment near the destination and refused to release it unless I paid more. At every single step, this company failed. Miserably. Dishonestly. Carelessly. Do not give these people your business. They are cheap, shady, and dangerous to deal with.
