Top class knowledge and service

About a decade ago, I was a professional astronomer running a large teaching observatory. I bought regularly from 365Astronomy because Zoltan was trustworthy and provided honest advice regarding the suitability of the products we were considering.

After leaving astrophysics, I eventually returned to my childhood hobby of astronomy following a seven-year break. Zoltan and the team were there to provide brilliant guidance as I navigated my way back into the hobby. On the occasions where I’ve ordered something and the staff weren't sure it was the right fit for my setup, I received a personal email asking for clarity.

It’s this level of service that keeps me coming back. They are big enough to have what you need and have been around long enough to truly understand the market, yet they remain small enough to care about the individual customer

Online worries gone - with low prices too

I think all of us are worried when we order from somewhere for the first time, I was I saw a review of the Zwo Seestar S50 on the BBC Sky at Night online magazine which said to buy it from 365 astronomy

I really wanted to order face to face in a shop but took a risk and ordered from online, as they offered the lowest price I could see in the country with free shipping, I ordered it late Saturday Night and it was delivered Tuesday morning, in stock and right to my door via DPD.

Brilliant service, I will be using them again.

I’ve used 365 several times in the past and once again this month (Nov.2925). They really are one of the best astronomy retailers out there. I’ve always had fantastic customer service - whether that’s product advice, product exchanges or returns. Fast delivery on orders too - you’ll never miss a clear sky! Highly recommended.

Excellent!

Excellent range of products and amazing service!
I ordered an Optolong L-Pro clip in filter, price was spot on and delivery was super quick too.

Somehow lazy in managing things

First time with this Vendor, I ordered about 200 pounds of astronomical stuff. After a while I deleted my order because I did not reach the 200 £ excluded VAT for shipping outside UK (required by Brexit rules, but the website allowed the transaction nevertheless). Then I asked for a refund several days ago and it is still to come (it is a matter of few seconds - as I experienced with many other stores). Bottom line, I advice the managers to be more quick at least when refunds are involved, and to update the website to manage the 200 pounds limit better because it does include the VAT. I give average rating because I ve read many other customers are satisfied and do not wish to go the extra mile with my review.

apologies for the delay with your refund. Your request came through on Saturday and it seems my colleagues managed to catch up with the weekend inquiries by Tuesday only, then they passed it on to me yesterday and I had it on my desk to deal with it today, but then I saw your review. I'd like to point out that according to the distant sales regulations, retailers have 30 days for a refund. It's not that we ever wanted to wait that long, it is simply for a reason that there are various administration tasks involved with the refund.
I've now refunded your order in full. This has been done just three working days after your request. (In most cases we would actually deal with it even faster.)
I also told you that I was planning to talk to you about your order and asked whether you still wanted to go ahead. As you know, one item had to be cancelled as we could not send liquids abroad (this is mentioned in the product description). As we would have to cancel that part of the order, the value of your order would have been below the £200 limit that we set for EU shipments, but we agreed to reduce it slightly so that your order would still go through our system for EU shipment... Also, we had to order one item as we only had one left in stock and you ordered two pcs. The manufacturer didn't reply for a whole week to our order request and I had to chase them yesterday when they told me that they were away on holidays, but promised to process our order shortly. That's why I wanted to talk to you before refunding your order. As you can see, instead of cancelling and refunding your order straight away right after you placed your order, we tried our best to help you out, but unfortunately we were let down by our supplier.

Excellent trustworthy company.

Friendly and helpful people who make transactions and delivery easy. Good communications keep customers informed and their prices are very competitive.

Difficult.

Very difficult throughout, lots of misunderstandings and the highlight of the transaction was the return policy.

I did mention that the return policy was easy, which it was. What I didn’t know about was the return policy for my money…

dear Customer,
first of all, I admitted straight away that I made a mistake due to internal miscommunication with my colleague, I misinformed my colleague, John about the aluminium case, it seems I wasn't listening carefully enough to his question and told him that this scope did come with a case, whilst I thought he was talking about a different telescope of the same size that does come with a heavy duty case... I should mention that the product description clearly stated that there was no case included, so it was a bit strange to receive such a question, but never mind, we made a mistake by saying that there was an alu case...

You wrote to us that "I am impressed with the return issue being resolved so quickly and that will guarantee one star on Trustpilot". I am not sure if I understand the logic behind the above sentence as people would normally use "impressed with a quick resolution" when they would be praising someone and not punishing.
We could have suggested that you can return the telescope at your own cost due to change of mind (as per distant sales regulations), but instead I tried to be helpful and we arranged a collection free of charge for you and will be refunding your order in full once we received the telescope back, plus we provided a curtesy discount voucher for £30, but then you complained that we should have just offered you a case that must be not more expensive than £30. I explained that if there are alu cases of such large size for £30 then I would absolutely not trust a £1000 APO telescope to put in one of those, so we would certainly not suggest any customer to do so and we would not want to supply such a case with good conscience.
TS-Optics and APM do sell appropriate cases for similarly sized telescopes, but they are much more expensive for about £240-260, but due to importing difficulties caused by Brexit we stopped importing such products and so we didn't have any alternative aluminium case to offer.
Once again, please accept my apologies and really sorry for the caused inconvenience.
