Customer service is awful. I bought an expensive duvet cover for $250 and after one gentle, cold wash cycle the stitching was lose and coming undone from several places in both the pillow cases and quilt cover. I emailed them 15 times from Feb - April, (several times with no reply for weeks) to try and rectify. They offered me a $15 voucher for a $250 purchase and then when I tried to escalate blamed me and said I must have washed the cover wrong. Overall the quality is poor and overpriced and customer service is rude, unhelpful or just doesn't respond.

Used to love this place, but their customer service has gone way down hill. Bought a bunch of Christmas presents Dec 10th online thinking that would be plenty of time to arrive, half of them arrive mid january and then the other half they say they have no stock left of so gave me a refund, which took ages to come through. I asked multiple times about my order and got ignored heaps of times and I still don't even get my products. One of the products I received is completely useless to me now, as I got it as part of a group present, but the rest became out of stock, so can't just give to half the group! They don't even offer a voucher for all the hassle, won't be shopping there again.

Zippers on 2 European pillowcases stopped working within 6 months of purchase, pillows used mostly for decoration and with the price tag of $99 each - really disappointed with quality
ZERO STARS FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!
If I could leave zero stars I would. Adairs has changed - maybe it’s the takeover by members of Country Road, I purchased a set of towels in September 2025. I washed them ready for use and they came out with pulls - they were washed separately from any other items. I contacted Adairs & was told because I’d washed them there is nothing they could do. I haven’t used the towels at all. I spoke to an Adairs member at my local shopping centre recently and was advised to try again with customer service - I did, but with the same outcome. In fact, I was advised to buy a more expensive line. I replied that I would, but never again from Adairs. I WAS a very loyal customer and a Linen Lover for many , many years. This is not the shop I know. Even Sheridan accepted a return of sheets that had pilled and they HAD been used.

Impossible to get any customer service from Adairs. I have called, emailed and tried their online chat - which is just a bot and it is impossible to get a hold of anyone at Adairs. Zero customer service.
Lack of Customer Service and IT assistance to the shop
We purchased a gift certificate from the TTP site on a Saturday. The transaction wouldn't load onto the gift card so we asked for a credit on the card we paid it on. This couldn't be done as it wouldn't match up in their system so the staff member rang the IT people only to get a response of "it's the weekend we don't work on weekends wait until Monday" . Come on guys we aren't in the 80s this a standard working day for many on a Saturday so lift your game. I felt sorry for the staff member as she was frustrated and said they would fix it up Monday much to our disappointment.
Monday came and we did get a call but I must say the Customer service provided by this staff member was very average given the Saturday issue. A new card was provided but we had to pick it up ourselves. This store is not our usual shopping location so we were a long way out from it.
I was told they could mail it out but it would take at least two weeks to get to us even though we live in a metro area.
Meantime I drove all the way there as this was a gift just to be handed the card and a goodbye without any compensation for the issue caused by them or a reason.

Displays look pretty…
In store the displays look pretty impressive. I bought a lovely, soft olive throw for about $90. Next time I'm at my brothers they have a pink one, exactly the same. I asked where his partner bought it & for how much... about $40 at Spotlight. Nuff said.

I should’ve read the reviews before placing an order over $400. Ordered bed linen under the assumption it would be dispatched in 3-5 business days because it specifically said that. 10 days later still nothing, no dispatch notification, no way of contacting customer service other than getting some chatbot online that doesn’t comprehend anything you say to it. Sent an email contact form, still nothing. Absolutely appalled. Adair’s used to be considered high end bedding and customer service and now they’re just like any other fast fashion Chinese company who cares more about volume sales and not quality customer service. Buyers beware. Spend your money elsewhere. And if you do choose to risk it then use PayPal so you can lodge a claim to get your money back which is what I’ll be doing if I don’t hear from them in the next 24 hours.

Woeful customer service
We purchased a bed frame and the frame came missing the middle support bar under the slats. We requested for the missing bar to be delivered and the response took over 3 weeks to chase. Customer service is woeful. They suggested we go to our local hardware store to source a makeshift piece of wood. If I wanted to build my own bed I would never have purchased it in the first place. I then asked for a refund to return the bed as it’s deemed unsafe and useless and was met with rudeness from customer service (person called Danielle) who was citing things which clearly go against Australian Consumer Laws like faulty items needing to be returned in original packaging. When I explained that that is not true she lied to my face saying no I never said that when I’ve got the transcript of the conversation where is said exactly that. Do not buy from this company!

$395 delivery - just a ripoff.
About 8 weeks ago I ordered a sofa and a chair from Adairs - it cost me $165 for delivery and it was not smooth. Today I went to buy another and they now charge $395 for delivery. An absolute ripoff.
No customer service?
I purchased a rug online, and it arrived with the plastic already unwrapped and a noticeable yellow stains right in the middle. This rug was meant for my baby’s nursery, but it’s been sitting rolled up for weeks while I wait for a replacement. I’ve contacted Adairs three times with no response.
I’m now six weeks away from my due date and can’t afford to buy another rug, so my only option may be to have this one professionally cleaned, if it’s not too expensive. I’m really disappointed by the lack of communication and the overall experience.
Adairs stands test of time
Really impressed by how this brand has evolved over time. Many things ive purchased have stood the test of time, and im constantly finding myself looking at whats new online!! The sales associates in store geuienly love their jobs and they seem to have an extremely low turnover of staff, many having been there for years and years. I will continue to purchase from Adairs for years to come,
Avoid Adairs online shopping

She even went to one of the stores and the Adairs employee indicated that this sort of thing is happening often. The shop assistant tried to assist but even she couldn’t identify what is happening.
Trying to get help online is also incredibly frustrating..

Wasteful approach to packaging
We ordered some sheets, which were fine and promptly delivered. BUT they came in a large box which was 75% filled with bubble packing! (Airplus by Storopack)
Firstly this was not needed (do sheets in their own packaging really need to be protected by bubblewrap??)
Secondly this was very non-sustainable - the box was unnecessarily large, and the bubble wrap very hard (impossible?) to recycle.
Poor quality
Poor quality, overpriced and no customer service. Don't be scammed by these guys!

Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service, ordered a bed and head head paid $200 for delivery and it never showed up on the date provided to me. Adairs still can't give me an ETA date. They blame the logistics company and take no liability on their part.
Misleading Cashback – Excludes Welcome Coupons Without Transparency
I spent over $1400 via ShopBack for Adairs specifically because of the 10% cashback promotion, fully expecting to receive cashback as advertised. I clicked through ShopBack, completed my order, and used the welcome coupon that Adairs themselves displayed at checkout. Later, ShopBack declined my cashback, claiming that $10 welcome coupons make the order ineligible.
I also contacted ShopBack via their online chat to resolve this issue, but they showed no willingness to address the matter or provide a fair solution.
This is misleading. As someone who works in eCommerce, I understand that third-party discount codes can void affiliate commission — but excluding a merchant’s own internal welcome coupon is unfair and against the spirit of affiliate programs. ShopBack still drove the traffic and Adairs still got the sale, yet ShopBack refuses to claim or pass on commission.
This means most new customers are unknowingly excluded from cashback just by using a coupon Adairs actively promotes on their own site. ShopBack does not clearly disclose this, and it creates a misleading promotion.
I will be contacting the following Australian authorities regarding this matter, as it misrepresents cashback offers to consumers and may breach consumer law:

State/Territory Consumer Protection Agencies

Consumers should be aware that cashback may be arbitrarily declined, even when using coupons offered by the merchant themselves.
