We have recently won a County Court Judgement against Nigel Dinneen’s company (at the time called Alderley Bespoke Orangeries and Conservatories Ltd) as his builder walked out of our orangery project on 31.5.24 (having started in January), leaving us to face a nightmare of extra costs both to complete the work and to put right what had been badly installed (such as the plumbing, the floor, the underfloor heating and the bathroom).

We are aware that the company did not pay the local Painter and Decorators that they sub-contracted, nor the Electrician. Both have since won County Court Judgements against the company.

There were so many issues with the work it would be impossible to list them all, but as an example, we had a Court Report on the fitting of the Underfloor Heating and they were found liable to pay us £9,955 in court (needless to say we haven’t seen a penny):

‘In conclusion the whole system including the screed will need to be removed and a completely new system installed, the whole floor has been installed incorrectly and is not safe or functional, the floor structurally is barely holding together and will fail within a few months. The heat mat used is not designed for this type of installation and should not have been used’.

On 2.7.24 Nigel Dinneen tried to close down the company (fraudulently stating that it had not been trading for the past 3 months) while still asking for additional (unagreed) money to come and finish the job (at £800 a day for one builder!). His reason for not returning to complete the job was that ‘didn’t believe he would be paid’ (we had paid every instalment on time, just not the extra demands).

We were able to prevent the company being shut down, but Nigel nevertheless has since set up two further active companies, one on 21.6.24 and one on 8.7.24 – both offering ‘construction of domestic buildings’ as the website advertises, with the same registered address.

Of course this means that the public County Court Judgements will be hidden from prospective clients as they are against the company name rather than the individual or the registered address. It seems that this isn’t the first time the company name has been changed to something very similar.

This isn’t just my opinion (which I know Nigel will argue with) – it’s a matter of legal fact, and I have the Court Reports on the quality of the work etc. You can search Trustonline for Alderley Bespoke Orangeries and Conservatories Ltd (45, Duesbury Court Mickleover Derby DE30UP) and you will find the three County Court Judgements. There is a small fee of £6 but it will save you a lot if your experience is anything like ours!

I sub contracted to Nigel Dineen of Alderley and he is not to be trusted.
He ripped off his customer with shoddy work and demands for more money before he would finish the job.
I had to take him to court to try and get paid for decoration services and the plumber and electrician also had to try and do the same.
We won our cases but this scumbag put his company into liquidation and has started up again.
Do not use any company connected to this man or the name Alderley and his boj job lacky called Minty.

Nigel's on-site consultation was thorough, showcasing a keen understanding of our requirements and a dedication to tailoring the design to complement our home's style. We contacted them via their website. Nigel called us back very quickly and arranged to come at a time
convenient for us, which was a Saturday morning, because we both work.

When Nigel was on-site he discussed in detail what we were going to use it for, the knocking through into
our lounge and kitchen, the direction in which it would face because that would determine the amount and
height of the glass windows and doors; our garden and surroundings; and other factors. We discussed
whether it should be an aluminium or painted hardwood orangerie; we then discussed budget. We then
explained what we were looking for in terms of design. Nigel made notes and took all the appropriate
measurements. Just before he left (and he was with us for over 2 hours) he said that Alderley Bespoke
would “design our dream.” He was setting Alderley a high bar.

A week or so later we received some beautiful 3D visuals and line drawings, and our initial reaction was
that what we were looking at were stunning, they had gone way beyond what we thought possible; it was
what we were looking for and went beyond our expectations; and it was in the budget that we had
discussed. It was our dream!!

Minti and the team were introduced to us on the day that work started. They were on time and
professional all the way through the 5 week build. They kept the site clean, always tidied up at the end of
each day and never left a mess anywhere. Minti would discuss with us what was happening, was always
happy to answer our questions and we felt part of the process. They were a pleasure to work with.
Our 25 square meter aluminium orangerie is beautiful and we can only thank Nigel, Minti and the team
for such a great job; nothing was too much trouble. Every one went to the professional lengths that we
would hope and expect from a premium orangerie supply company.

We would heartily recommend Alderley Bespoke, they were excellent.

Nigel and the team at Alderley Bespoke are a real pleasure to work with. They're knowledgeable, friendly and have exceptional communication skills. Their experience and skillset is evident from the quality of work they produce. I'd be more than happy to recommend the services of Alderley Bespoke.

DO NOT WORK WITH THIS COMPANY.
We have had the horrific 6 months working with Alderley Bespoke. We are in a worst place than when we began because of the incapable builders they kept sending over. They have ripped us off, they have damaged our property, the attitude and service has been appalling. We are having to get a new company it to rectify all the problems, non-stop leaks and bad workmanship that they have caused. We would hate anyone else to go through the same :( They are NOT to be trusted.
